The guys there have put new systems from just a double din head unit to a full blown system including head unit , 4 door speakers, separate tweeters, a subwoffer and amp. I have had several remote starters installed here over the years and they always did an excellent job. This time, after having difficulty reaching Auto Pro, I used a different place. Big mistake. The place in North Haven was a total nightmare, I returned several times, it never worked right and even stranded me on the road so I eventually just took the system out - what a waste of money. Then I went back to AutoPro for a new system and Dennis did AN EXCELLENT JOB. The level of detail I will never take for granted again... system works perfect, accessories don't start without the key, no problems at all. Great job explaining it all too. I have a 1990 sports car that I keep in perfect condition. This model came with the "high-end" Bose option but is notorious for the powered speaker pods failing. When they finally did I had a $2700 Alpine system installed by the shop my car dealership recommended. The system never worked right (locked up, freezing, no sound) and I brought it back to them many times. My dealership even called the owner and he said he'd make sure it was fixed but when I called I got the run around. They said they couldn't get through to Alpine support but it was a classic case of "Paid and Gone". I eventually gave up on them and just lived with a stereo that worked only when it wanted to. Three years later I saw a post on the internet that identified the problem. The "quick and dirty" fix was to change the power lead to the XM radio module (that is not made by Alpine due to licensing). This is about a 10 minute job. I called Alpine support to confirm the tip and was surprised that a human answered the phone each and every time I called. I then called the owner of the shop and he told me he didn't have time to work on my car when it was at my dealership. Instead he wanted me to leave it at his shop in Wallingford. At that point I just gave up with him. You'd think that they'd fix this since I spent $2700 and told them it had a problem since I inspected the job when they delivered my car. Nope... Paid and Gone. No other shop wanted to touch it since it would be their problem and they didn't know what the place in Wallingford did. Finally, one shop told me to call Auto-Pro in Hamden. I called and Mike (technician) answered the phone. He knew right away what the problem was by the symptoms and suggested a better solution for me (find an older Alpine XM unit) which I did. I brought my car to Auto-Pro and it was obvious that they knew what they were doing. Mike had me come to the back to see what the other guys did. The wiring was a mess. I told Mike to go ahead and sort it all out while he was in there. Mike even took extra steps to do the job right and took the time to show me. Then we started it up and the problems were gone. I was very impressed. It's been about a year since Auto-Pro fixed my system and it works perfectly. From now on I will bring all my work and all my friends there. I highly recommend anyone reading this give Dennis, Luke, of Mike, a call at Auto-Pro in Hamden CT. They are real professionals. read more

Very courteous and professional service. I called on a Friday and they scheduled me on the very next Monday to inspect my car stereo that wasn't working well. They replaced a shot amp and my rear speakers. Everything was transparent and explained to me, even inviting me into the garage to witness the issue he identified. Never had a problem with them we they installs any system its just works like it should not only that they don't try to sell u a over price stereo that you don't need they ask what you need and they get you the best bang for your buck. I stopped by this repair facility early yesterday to get a price and schedule installation of a radio in my vehicle. The employee took all the information on my vehicle and my contact info and advised that the owner would call me in 1/2 hour. No call so I called back mid- afternoon and left a message asking for a return call. It is now after 3 on the following day and STILL no call - guess they don't want my business! read more

Do not use these guys! I had them install LED lights on my Santa Fe and they re-installed the bumper cover incorrectly. Retaining clips were broken. Job was overall sloppy as pieces of tape were left sticking out from under lights and I found a roll of electrical tape crammed under the windshield wiper. The lights work great, however, but that's the only thing they did right. When you present a vehicle for work to be done, you expect to get it back in the same condition. read more

The cheapest and for good reason. If you want quality work stay away from these guys. They butchered my car stereo installation. They took shortcuts like mounting the satellite antenna on the inside dash of the car. Real shoddy work. read more
