We dropped it off late morning and was told they wouldn't have time to immediately look at it. They went over a list of items and the owner went through each one and gave a priority level as to the visit that day. We fully expected the car to be with them for a few days since there were several vehicles in their parking lot. To our surprise, they called before end of same day to alert my husband that all repairs had been performed and was ready for pickup! The amount they charged was MUCH less than we had anticipated and very little for labor. When we arrived he went in to pay where the owner reviewed everything completed and what could be done on next visit. As I was sitting in my car, a precious elderly man came out holding a beautiful, gigantic red rose with a plate of candy! I have never had an experience like that in any service industry. What an adorable man. Today is 7-14-25 and the rose is still in full bloom. Our Highlander drives like it's brand new. We will take our vehicles here forever and recommend to everyone we know. The new glass seems to be fine. The service was quite misleading. I called on Thursday and told…read moreLarry that Safelite quoted me $1100 to replace the windshield (sameday service). He said he could replace it for $450 but I would need to wait until the following Tuesday. He said as long as it did not have collision sensors or heads up display it was only $450. I confirmed it did not, but told him it had a rear camera using the rearview mirror as a constant monitor. He said no problem. I stayed three extra days in DFW and take it to his shop on Tuesday. Even as I gave him the keys I ask again that he could definitely replace the windshield for $450 which seemed extremely cheap compared to the other quotes. so I grabbed my bag and walked down to the nearest coffee shop. Larry calls about 10 minutes later telling me the windshield he has in stock is chipped and needs to go to Fort Worth to get a new one. It will take an additional hour. I said no problem as long as we can get it fixed that day. Well, he then proceeds to call back 10 minutes later telling me that the rearview mirror that has the camera monitor takes a special mounting bracket. And the windshield that contains the special bracket is $900 installed. Well, as put out as I am by the terrible service so far, this makes sense considering the other quotes were $1000 and $1100. Once the windshield was installed I noticed that the plastic cowling along the front of the windshield was not flat like it was on the original windshield (pics attached). Larry tells me he can fix it but I will need to bring it back the following week for him to "tape it to the new windshield". I do not live in DFW and I have already waited around four extra days only to save $100-$200 over the same day service as Safelite. So at the end of the day, as I said, the glass seems fine, but it is not OEM and the cowling is not flat as it was on the original windshield.

I then came across Titan Auto Glass and they were actually able to beat Safelite's pricing; despite being a much smaller operation all while offering the same stipulations and specifications. The tech who came out, Richard, has been doing automotive glass for 20 years, and it comes as no surprise that he aced this job and did so in about 30 minutes flat. Very impressive. I found the staff to be easy to work with, and most communication was done via text message, which I actually find very convenient. Obviously they primarily use aftermarket glass, which in my case was a nonfactor since the factory windshield no longer exists in inventory anywhere. They did say if I ever wanted a factory windshield for one of my other vehicles that I could source it and they would still be able to install it after the fact. Overall it was about as painless of an experience as possible.
