One of the bearings on the rear axle was gone. I went to buy a new bearing as I had no money to just bring it to a place to fix it. I attempted to fix it myself but had no bearing-puller and I was unable to remove the bearing my self. With a bicycle I pedaled to One Stop Towing, the nearest place where they serviced and worked on cars. I guess Dave Bell, the owner, felt sorry for me and pulled the bearing. When I asked for the price for his help, he answered, "good luck, you do not owe me anything." Over the years, even so I did service my cars myself if possible, on occasion I needed One Stop's service. I can not remember ever having any issues or was in any way disappointed. I consider Dave Bell a man with integrity and a big hart; the only flaw he may has is the inability to say no to anybody in need. Years ago, during a snow storm, I found myself in a ditch with my car; Dave was there to help me, not to make any money, he was there to help! I called him today as I need a rental truck to move stuff next week. He was very patient and explained me how the truck rental business has change over the years and how I most likely will find the rental truck I need. I'm in the retail business and found out that there is about 1% of the population you will never be able to satisfy, no matter what you do. Unfortunately, this 1% are the ones who leave probably 50% of all the reviews, and naturally they are without exception scathing. If you do some research to find out who these people are, you will find out that they never did anything meaningful their entire life and do not amount to much.

I was scrambling to pick a place to have it repaired. I found that this shop was a preferred place of repair. Called to schedule rental coverage and to bring my car. However, the rental place that booked me the day I was supposed to drop it off said they had no rentals. Was absolutely gutted. However, Morgan from Auto Park jumped in, found me another place for a rental and saved the day. In addition, the owner of the shop was amazing and truly honest about every aspect of the repairs. He clearly did a thorough check and gave me the confidence I needed to feel great about the deal. Discovering a seasoned, honest mechanic is a real find for those like myself who must rely completely on their word. Instead of properly diagnosing the issue, I was charged $80 for a coolant cap replacement. I questioned this at the time because the leak was significant, but my concerns were dismissed. AJ was extremely confident. However I drove home and unsurprisingly the coolant was still pouring out. After texting AJ, I was told to come back Monday. Only then did he finally run a diagnostic test and pull an error code. What's incredibly frustrating is that this code has an associated TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) that clearly points to a known issue. I later found this information myself with a simple Google search. AJ never mentioned it. Instead, he told me I needed a new water pump and charged me $800 to replace it, even though the TSB does not indicate the water pump as the issue. After six hours of work, I then received a text saying my engine needed to be replaced because coolant had leaked into it. Again, my questions on this were brushed off. AJ came off arrogant and promised this was the only fix. At that point I was skeptical so I had the car towed to another mechanic. They laughed at AJ's claim that the engine needed to be replaced and explained that the TSB repair simply required replacing the exhaust gas recirculation component - a far simpler and far less expensive fix than an engine replacement. AJ is a nice person, and I don't believe there was malicious intent. But the level of negligence, lack of research, poor diagnostic process, and dismissive attitude toward reasonable questions is unacceptable. Charging for unnecessary repairs while missing a documented manufacturer bulletin is not a small mistake, it's a serious competency issue. I would urge you to NOT take your car to Exotic King. He may say he charges less than competitors, but his lack of experience and knowledge will cost you.
