**update - got the plates in June. Taking off his name as promised. They sold us a car in December, hasn't lived up to written in contract agreements, what he did follow through with (replacing parts) was total crap with crap parts that didn't work. He won't return phone calls or emails when I inquire why we STILLLLLL don't have our plates almost FIVE MONTHS LATER. Maybe this will get his attention....call me back...the black Audi Q5 right before Christmas...get me my plates and I'll take down this review. Until then....I hope everyone sees this and all the other accurate reviews of how shady your establishment is. And that's not even talking about the crap water pump that was broken "that service light just didn't get turned off" when we bought it. WARNING: THREAT OF SCAM OR CON - Simply dishonest at best. So many cars and dealers out there. Find an honest one. Short version: They try to rip you off, change the deal, do not honor written expectations, do not inspect the vehicle, try to take advantage of your situation, and do not keep promises. (keep in mind that I like to support small businesses and do not write bad review unless it is something really serious) On August 13th, 2019, I arrived at Hayward Auto Gallery and met with the owner Shervin and the sales representative Johnny. They knew I had been saving for their higher down payment requirement and planning to buy immediately. They already had an approval on financing and we already agreed on the loan terms. They knew it was a 3 hour drive for me to get there in the evening and I was arranging to meet a friend who was buying the car which I used to drive there. So, they knew I was highly motivated to drive away with the their car for sale. When I arrived, immediately, red flags. We began to transfer our belongings from the old car I drove to get there over to the new one and we found a vape pen in the new one. When the Shervin came out to greet us, he claimed the pen. Nice to know how the owner preps a car being sold and gets high while at work. Next, I ask about the 8th seat. The van is advertised, even now, as an 8 passenger vehicle. When I was at the dealership the first time to apply for financing, I was told, "The seat is probably with the detailer, we'll have it ready for you." Now that I was there to buy, "I don't know. The VIN dictates our website. I don't know why it says 8 seats. Does your old van have an extra seat you can move over?" Really? Next, I ask, "Did you get the window controls working from the driver seat? You said you just had to replace a switch." He says, "No, we forgot, but don't worry, we'll mail you a switch." Consider this - they claim the vehicle received an inspection, but it was missing a seat, could not control the windows, had a headlamp out, a piece of plastic that belongs somewhere loose in the back, followed by the vaping in the car, there clearly was no inspection nor desire to correct anything before selling. The problem might not be a switch and who pays for labor? So, since I was highly motivated to buy that night, with a friend waiting to leave in my car, I go into the office to finalize. He shows me the computer screen that begins with CASH PRICE: $15,999. I say, "That might be right, but I thought it was less, can we check the advertisement?" And he says, "That's the price and we took the ad down since you are buying the car." So I say, "Ok, but I think I have a photo of the advertisement." as I begin to look for the photo he admits, "Yea, the ad was less. We included a $600 'bank fee'". I was like, "What? I texted you confirming we were going with advertised price, minus down, plus tax and license just this morning." And he says, "I left my phone at home and did not get that text." I'll let you pause on that one. I told him firmly, "I agreed to pay the advertised price." So I say, "Yes, but you replied to that text confirming the corrections and the deal." and he says, "Actually, that was my wife that replied." (Reminding me to bring a utility bill). Yea, right, but get this... Later, after he sees the text exchange was at 7:30am, he says, "Yea, that was before I came to work, so that was me that replied." OMG, the tangled web we weave when we practice to deceive. He then goes into the poor me act, "Do you really expect me to pay the fees I incur because of you?" Now he insults my intelligence, but I want the car, so I say, "I'll pay your bank fee." Note that he tried to charge exactly $1,000 more without my noticing even though claimed the "bank fee" was $700. So, I say, knowing I was dealing with a liar and a cheat, "I will pay the higher price. I will pay your bank fee, on ONE condition: You must label the price on the contract with the advertised price first and then you label this sudden increase as "bank fee" and.... he refused. He said he could not document it on the contract as he was claiming it had to be. I know why he did not want it documented on the contract. We never got far enough to have him refuse the extra warranty he promised to be included in the advertised price. So, my friend did not get my car that night. I did not buy the van from this con artist. I drove home for another 3 hours - wasting a day and gas, but at least I can do the service of warning others. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I responded to an ad for a van I was interested in, and traveled over to this seedy auto-row lot in Hayward. The sales manager, David Florence was very helpful and low-key. When I asked if he could hold the van for a few days so that my partner could evaluate it, he very helpfully took a $1000 deposit, which he assured me was fully refundable. (I almost don't want to post this review because it makes me look like such a sucker...) He gave me a receipt, and I confirmed with him that the deposit would be refunded if we decided against purchase. (Alas: no language to this effect on the receipt. No terms of any kind, in fact. I took him at his word.) You can guess the rest of the story: we showed up as promised, decided against the van, and he indicated there would be no problem processing the refund, but said he'd have to do it when his colleague "Matt" came in, as he didn't know how to process it. When I called to check on it a few days later, the story had changed. No refunds. Non-refundable deposit. (The point of the deposit was to hold the vehicle for a few days until we'd made a decision--it was NOT a down payment. This was a swindle, plain and simple.) I'm pursuing fraud charges but don't yet know what the outcome will be. In the meantime---whatever you do---know that this business is to be avoided. And the owner, according to the sales manager, "does not speak to customers---EVER." I had to look up his name in the county business record. You want to expect the best from people. Here's this guy David working in a total loser car lot, but he seemed on the up and up. It's a shame--makes me more inclined to judge a book by its cover, and supports the stereotype about dishonest used car dealers. Lesson learned. read more

Came here to look at a Honda S2000 they had on the lot and after talking to Matt for a minute, he asked me to take the car for a test drive...as soon as I drove the car I knew I wanted it and thanks to him, he made it so easy to pick it up that day. Common Criminals? I invested a lot of time and took a day off work to get a car I was interested in thoroughly checked out. FYI, As a rule of thumb, assume that the asking price is probably about 15% above the selling price with these guys.. anyhow They assured me the car was mint, ya-de-ya-de-ya.. however.. thank god I paid for a really thorough inspection service from some great mechanics lacking my emotional attachment to what might have been a 'dream car' for me. The car was a total lemon. The diagnostics came back with electrical readings all over the place, some seriously wrong stuff. Why did the pain look so mint? I forgot to check the paint on the roof. Upon closer examination it was the only panel on the car that had not been completely repainted. Once the car was up on the blocks, welds everywhere. This car a badly damaged car from SoCal, it had been 'restored', sold at dealer auction [NOTE: I am told that such damage MUST be disclosed at dealer auction, so the failure of Auto Gallery to disclose to me, in itself is criminal] and was sent here to NorCal in search of some unsuspecting fool to part from his hard-earned money. Of course, the sales people were astonished I didn't want the car.. and claimed no knowledge this vile 4 wheeler was harboring Kind of makes you wonder about all the other 'exotics' they have there, the porsches, BMWs, etc.. why aren't they being sold at dealers??? Auto Gallery had a Porsche Cayenne advertised last month that we had wanted to see. Let me make it clear that we had not intended to buy a car that day. I had made (and broken) appointments with Matt for a couple weeks, but we were finally able to get there one Sunday afternoon last month. Our goal was to look and drive only. And if we liked it, our plan was to go home and arrange for an inspection at a Porsche dealer the following week - before buying. We'd never been to Auto Gallery before. When we got there Matt introduced himself to us; he was very friendly, easy going, and most important - not pushy at all. After shaking his hand, Matt quickly moved several cars so he could bring the Cayenne out front. After walking around it and talking for a few minutes he asked if we'd like to take it for a ride. He made a copy of my DL, handed us the key, and said take it for a long drive, and go have lunch with it if you want. Frankly, I was surprised he was so trusting with the car - especially a Turbo-S with 550 horsepower! When we got back Matt asked how we liked it and whether we had any questions. I wanted to walk around the car and think to myself for a while and Matt was perceptive to that; he moseyed away and left us alone. When we were ready to talk he answered my questions honestly. If he didn't know something or didn't have an answer he didn't pretend or give you the typical car salesman double-talk. He conducted himself professionally; but he made you feel like you were dealing more with a friend than a salesman. Matt asked if we'd like to buy the car. I told him his price was too high. In a rather short time, Matt and I came to an agreed price that I feel was very competitive for the car - and I'd been looking for more than 18-months. The car was in very nice shape and drove so well that I decided to buy it without having Porsche inspect it first. To buy the car I didn't need financing, but Matt offered me such a great interest rate that I couldn't pass it up. Since buying the car from Matt last month I've had Porsche fully inspect and service the vehicle - aside from scheduled servicing, Porsche said the car needed nothing! They said it appears to be very well kept and in outstanding condition. I would recommend Auto Gallery to anyone who is looking for a nice car and great service. read more

I had to come out of pocket almost $2,000 because they said these were maintenance issues. Wow, I'm kinda shocked with all the bad reviews on here. I've purchased 2 cars from Auto Gallery and have had no issues or problems with any of my cars. The first car I purchased 3yrs ago was an Infiniti. Loved it to death but gas mileage sucked because I commuted pretty far for work everyday. I was paying $100 in gas every week. I was so over it. I wanted something gas friendly so I called Matthew to see if he had anything gas friendly (a Prius to be exact) like a hybrid. He said he didn't have anything at the moment. Next thing you know the following week he gave me a call and got me a Prius. I was beyond stoked. I've had the Prius for a few months now and I am a happy woman. I pay $35 a week to fill my gas. Saved me $65 a week! With all that money I'm saving a month it pretty much pays for my monthly payment. Matthew worked with me on my loan and payments. Most of the fancy cars belong to other people and they leave it there for them to sell it. Their cars barely pass safety inspections and anytime they have a car with a blown head gasket they will pour head gasket seals in coolant resivours which is only temporary.So many people got screwed over from them. I grade my recent Lexus SC430 2006 purchase as 5 stars, the owner, Matt & Mo, the Salesperson are straight-shooters and they get things done....my only disappointment was that I walked into their car-lot ready to do some good old Southern horse-trading but I didn't get anything remotely close to haggling....I only got the bare-knuckle facts and the skinny.... and I did make new friends. I recently bought a BMW from auto gallery. Mike was the salesperson he was at first stand offish and boring. After he realized that I was trying to buy that day he tried to lossen up. Upon my question after question he and his manager began to be very pushy. I end up buying the car with a stipulation that they would fix the bumper. The bumper needed paint and would pop out on the driver side at will. So i brought my car back to be repaired and there goes the real problem!!!!! First they act like they didnt know what I was talking about. After a back in forth agrument they sent my car to a Shade TRI body shop. Upon picking my car up I noticed that the bumper was still slightly sticking out and the paint was worse than it was when I dropped it off. After showing Mike the salesman he said to bring it back for refinishing again. As I drove the car the bumper popped out again finding that ONE HOUSE SCREW was used to hold up my bumper on my 550i BMW. So once agian I took it back and I was told by Matt that it was my fault the bumper was the way it was I must of hit something and eveything else you can think while screaming and sighing and cursing. Mike was very unprofeesional and Matt was even more so!!!! I spent quite a bit of money with these people and for them to treat me like this is unbelievable. Now telling me that I have to pay for some of the repairs and they dont care. Im still dont understand how their not upset with the person that put a household screw in my luxury car, but its my fault that A car bumper wont stay up with it. What's really unbelievable is how they talked to me and their unwillingness to to help!!!! No one should have to deal with people like this when spending the type of money I spent....This is how things get out of hand! read more
