I tried several times to just recover the cost of the part ($42) since I found a used one on EBay. I sent receipts and all. He has basically ghosted me. Not only did he cause more damage to the vehicle, but the condition he left it in put my family in danger. The gas was splashing out within inches of the muffler, and if it would have hit, the car would have exploded with my 5 year old in it. He is a nice person, but not a competent mechanic. Literally hire at your own risk! I ended up hiring, and paying extra $500, for someone else to fix what he created, and make the car safe again for me and my family.

Honestly, if you need your car fixed and you don't want to spend a fortune, please do not hesitate…read moreto bring your car to Rodriguez Brothers. To begin with, this is the only shop that I called that was willing to give me a quote over the phone (that's a much bigger deal than it seems). My air conditioner evaporator had to be replaced. The dealer (whom I had actually bought my SUV from) had quoted me roughly $3000, which was grossly out of line with what an online estimate seemed to be. That being said, I wanted the job done correctly, so I was willing to pay it. I left my car at the dealer with the explicit understanding that I needed my truck back by the end of the week for a family trip that involved towing our boat. He agreed. He called me on Thursday (after having had it for a week) and told me they wouldn't even begin work on it until the following week. I canceled then and there and proceeded to call the other auto shops in the Miami area. 1/2 dozen calls later, only Rodriguez bros called back with a quote every other place said they would have to see the car. That quote (about $1100) was too good to be true. I assumed they had misheard what I wanted done. However, true to their word I dropped off the car on Monday (I believe) and my A/C was working perfectly on Tuesday when they called me to pick it up. They even kept the old evaporator to show me where it had been damaged and to prove that they had, in fact, replaced it. This shop is not in the greatest neighborhood. The English spoken isn't perfect, but good enough. But these are honest people. The work they do is excellent and they saved me $2000. I repeat, they saved me $2,000!!!!! Would I drive all the way over there to get my oil changed? Probably not. But the next time anything serious seems off with my car, Rodriguez Bros. will not be my last call, they will be my first! Other than being a totally satisfied customer (who happens to be $2000 richer) I have no connection with this shop at all.
