    Scott's Towing - Tow truck

    Scott's Towing

This is, hands-down, the towing company you need to call if you're reading reviews and trying to…read moremake an informed decision. Here's why: Our alternator decided to die in Bradenton, of all places on the Manatee River bridge, so we spent a HARROWING hour on the side of the interstate, trying to diagnose the issue and ultimately calling a tow truck. We were stuck standing on a narrow strip of concrete between the truck (in the breakdown lane) and the side of the bridge watching cars going at 70-80 mph, many of them veering into the breakdown lane (likely distracted by looking at the water or their phones) only to notice at the last minute that we were stalled there (with no electronics and no ability to put on hazard lights) then swerving back into their lane to avoid us, it was unnerving, to say the least. We called a tow truck, and, in short order after placing the call, an angel of a tow truck driver arrived - Scott, of Scott's Towing. Scott immediately ushered us to safety in his tow truck and had us handled and off the interstate in a matter of minutes. We coordinated a drop-off & next-day repairs with another really nice young man at a repair shop (Cameron at Tire Choice). Now, my husband can fix anything mechanical, and had we been near his wide array of tools, he could have done the work himself, but that's not how the story went. So, after depositing our car outside the repair shop, Scott spent another 45 minutes or so with us, loaning us what tools he had and helping us to determine if there was any quick fix that could be done. When we concluded it was the alternator and could not be fixed on the spot, Scott insisted on driving us to a hotel. He thoughtfully helped us to select a lovely and historic Hilton/Hampton Inn downtown and within walking distance of restaurants and other places we might need as we waited out the repair. His towing fee was SUPER reasonable, very fair, and though we tipped on the tow, Scott refused our offer of an additional tip for his continued kindness and assistance. Scott is one of a kind in the world of towing and beyond - just a really good human who really cares about helping others, and we highly recommend him and his business if you find yourself in need of a tow.

I recently had a horrible experience with Victory Towing that everyone needs to be made aware of…read more On August 31, 2019, my husband and I were driving to St. Petersburg (from our home in Sarasota) to meet friends for dinner and a movie when my car started shaking violently. It stopped doing it at speeds over 60. We were only a few miles away from St. Pete, so we decided to keep going and find on-street parking. Once there, I called my insurance company for Roadside Assistance because I knew it was not safe to drive back to Sarasota. In less than 5 minutes from that call, I received a call from Victory Towing. From here on out, I'll be using Time Stamps to show the order of events. 8/31/19 - 6:22pm (Saturday) - Victory Towing calls. Tow is scheduled. Am told that tow truck driver will be there between 7:30-8pm. 8pm - I call Victory Towing. I update them on the address of my car. (I was off by a block on my first call.) They tell me that's fine and they update it in the system. There had been a delay on their end, but I was next in line. 8:25pm - I call Victory Towing. I tell them we have a movie starting at 8:55pm. They inform me there has been another delay, but not to worry. They tell me to just leave the keys on the top of the left front tire, and the driver will get my car while I'm at the movie. 11:03pm - Car has yet to be picked up. I call Victory Towing. I am told that their tow truck was involved in an accident and that there had been another delay. Am told that the truck has to get back to Palmetto by the end of the night so getting my car to Bradenton is no problem. Told by dispatcher to leave my keys on the tire and let my friend drive me back to Sarasota. Dispatcher tells me I will receive a call when the car is picked up and dropped off. I'm nervous about leaving my car, but dispatcher assures me there is nothing to worry about. I try to stay awake waiting for the call, but I fall asleep after 1am. 9/1/19 - 8:42am (Sunday) - I speak with a woman at Victory Towing who looks in the system and tells me the job is marked completed. I breathe a sigh of relief. I called my dealership, but the service department is closed until Tuesday because of the Labor Day holiday. I leave a message. 9/3/19 - 9:30am (Tuesday) - I call service department at dealership to explain problems with my car. Am told they will look into and get back to me. 11:10am - I call dealership back because I had not heard from them. They tell me they have looked everywhere, but my car is not there. They will keep looking. 11:15am - I call Victory Towing and speak with Susan. She looks in the system. It says car had been dropped off at correct address, but she will investigate. 11:49am - Susan from Victory Towing calls back. She informs me that my car was never picked up in St. Pete. At this point, I'm furious. I ask why no one ever called me to tell me. I ask why their system said the job was completed. I get no answers. I hang up. At this point, I call my insurance, they send out a new tow truck (from a different company). That company is very good about keeping in contact with me. By some miracle (and probably because of the holiday weekend), my car is exactly where I had left it. No damage to it. No tickets. The new company tows it to my dealership, and it is repaired. So, there are two morals to the story. 1) Don't leave your car on the street, even if the man on the phone sounds very nice and trusting. I trusted a business to do what they said they were going to do. I should have stayed with the car and waited for the tow truck. That is on me. 2) DON'T EVER USE VICTORY TOWING! YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM.
