I called to schedule a AAA pre-trip inspection and that got me in the next morning. Bill is friendly and professional and the tech provided a detailed report with a recommendation (with photo) to change the air filter. No hard sell! PLEASE READ!!! Auto ER on 6th St great repair shop! My vehicle just recently experienced a mechanical breakdown and had to be towed to Auto ER. I've only used them once prior for an oil change. After taking a look and diagnosing my vehicle, they had the unfortunate pleasure of delivering some very disappointing news. Although the news was devastating, Dustin took his time and talked me through possible scenarios of what had happened and the damage. He then explained all the of possible options for repair including possible outcomes from those repairs. Although the outcome was not what we expected, I truly appreciate the time, consideration, and honesty I received and I'm thankful to Dustin and staff for working with me. I'm extremely disappointed to write this review, but the lack of care I've received at this Auto ER is shocking to say the least. In short, I visited this location over a month ago (in person, mid-September 2023) and spoke with an individual named Dustin about getting a quote for a sun visor repair on my vehicle. Dustin photographed my car, took notes, gave me his card, and said they would give me a call after their technicians estimate the cost. Days went by... weeks went by... in fact, here's a list of all the times I reached out to check-in on the status of my quote after the initial visit: 09/20: I reached out because I hadn't heard back yet. 09/28: called again... 10/03: and again... 10/06: and... again... 10/13: This time I spoke to someone named Adam (who I had spoken to on at least one phone call before), who said that Dustin had deleted the photos of my car and that I needed to send my VIN and new photos of the damaged sun visor if I wanted a quote. I gave my VIN over the phone, and sent Adam a text with new photos of the damage (as requested, at 5:13pm on Friday, October 13th). I then waited until Thursday, October 26th to call again. This time, I spoke with someone who informed me that Adam and Dustin were unavailable. He noted that he was a technician who worked at a different location usually. I politely left a message with him (to pass on) that I was unhappy with the lack of service, and that I would like a resolution for this situation. I requested a call back from management by EOD the following day (10/27). It's now the following week (10/30), and I still have yet to hear back from anyone. Although everyone I spoke with was very nice, I couldn't even get a quote after 1 in-person visit, 6+ phone calls, and a final phone call with request for resolution. I feel like my time has been wasted, and that I must not have been important enough to even offer a quote to. Save your time and effort - find somewhere that cares about its customers. read more

It's rare to find service that's exceptional particularly in the auto repair industry. But I can't say enough about Dustin and his team on 6th street about the quality of the service, responsiveness, transparency and professionalism. He went the "extra mile" to get my daughter's car repaired in time to get her home for the holidays. And he even called to follow-up and ensure the car was working well and she made it home safe. I am back.. time for my oil change and off I went to see Dustin... Why? Because last year I had a flat tire .And the garage I had used before said to me when I called them bring it right in .We will fix it for you right away! Got there and they said it would be two hours.. (They wanted to go over the car with a fine tooth comb. If you know what I mean?) On hwy from N.C. my husband and I car started to flutter we were shocked , pulled off the hwy and attempted t tighten battery, started back on our route and it increased worse . Started to google closes auto zone it was far (15 min away) . We got off next exit and to our surprise we saw "Auto Er". Immediately greeted by a friendly lady(Lisa) she recommended a diagnostic and the rest is history . Nick went over and beyond to make sure our transmission had the fluids necessary. On the whole, the people here are very nice. And you gotta love that they keep the pet beagle and black cat right in the reception area (behind the service counter, naturally). Do be aware that you may get a call about something that is "wearing out" and totally unrelated to what you originally brought your vehicle in for. An older gentleman called me once to tell me that my wiper blades were nearly worn out when I brought my car over for an oil change. When I informed him that those blades were barely three weeks old and that I had installed them myself, he quickly ended the call. I've never seen him again, but I'll leave you with the general "buyer beware." read more

I shopped around for basic auto tires and Gainesville Tire Service had the least expensive tire, balance and alignment check. I went there on February 8, 2016 and bought four tires for my 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis. After a while the manager/ owner(?) tells me that the front suspension was in bad shape. He provided an estimate for the replacement of all the suspension parts and labor totaling $1,363.84. The car had no symptoms of steering difficulty and I did not have the money for this work. I took the estimate, paid for the tires and said I would see about getting the money together. The following day I took the car to my mechanic, reported what the estimate said and requested he check the car out. The following day he reported that there was nothing wrong with the car. Not trusting Gainesville Tire Service now, I had my mechanic redo the alignment check and balance the tires. I have concluded as you may have also, Gainesville Tire Service 4207 NW 6Th Street Gainesville, Fl is not a reputable business and would recommend they be avoided for any auto service. read more

I selected Auto ER due to high Yelp ratings. Then I found out Auto ER keeps its Yelp ratings high by phoning dissatisfied customers and sweet-talking/threatening them in hopes they will change their review. It happened to me. My Auto ER experience: Made an appointment, took my car in, and waited 4 days. In those 4 days, they did not even look at it. Then, when I couldn't wait any longer and went to pick it up, they lied about having looked at it. (I can tell they did not even try to diagnose the problem, because I left things a certain way without telling anyone and it was all still that way when I picked the car up.) The woman at the desk was horribly rude. I got the impression that they didn't think my old car was worth their time. Keeping my car for 4 days without looking at it, they certainly didn't think my time was worth anything, either. Pros: The lobby is very posh. Cons: They paid for that lobby by fleecing customers. When the owner called to try to prevent me from complaining about what happened, he threatened to fire the employees involved knowing that I, a nice person, wouldn't want anyone to lose their livelihood. He offered to have the mechanics look at the car again for free, but I declined, because I didn't trust them to not vindictively break my car. They somehow got my original review removed from Yelp. I have never seen a company so aggressively monitor its Yelp ratings, but that's how they got me, so I guess it's working for them. read more

I love the fact that they are family owned and operated because I've been taken advantage of at some of the "chain" stores that work off of commission. I rarely leave reviews but in this case I felt compelled to do so. My wife and I had a horrible experience at VW of Gainesville and brought my 2008 VW Passat to Dustin at Auto ER. Dustin not only solved all of my automotive issues but made me feel very comfortable with his outstanding and cheerful professional attitude. In addition to the excellent customer service my wife and I received, I can say with certainty that their prices were amongst the lowest in town. I have a BMW, 2 VWs (Jetta and a Passat) and a Honda Accord that I will bring in to Dustin and his amazing team at Auto ER from this point forward. We used them for years and trusted them until just recently. Took my car in for an oil change and when we go in to pick it up they have all kinds of extra "work" it suddenly needs...suggestions they say but emphasizing it needed to be done soon. Get my car home and it starts having a oil leak...never had one before and according to them this is connected to the work that needs to be done...say about $400 worth. I will never take my car there again because I believe they did something to it...besides being mad about it, it upsets me because we've trusted and recommended them to people in the past... never again read more

I unexpectedly needed to replace the ultra performance tires on my 2007 Honda S 2000. The manager and mechanics diagnosed the current condition of my tires and recommended the Cooper Zeon RS3A. I was unfamiliar with the Cooper brand, but based on the the manager's comments and a quick Google I went with his enthusiastic recommendation. I am pleased to report that after much more research and several hundred miles of driving in wet and dry conditions I am EXTREMELY pleased with my purchase. The Zeon's are quiet, smooth, track beautify, and have amazing traction. A perfect match for the S2000. While at the store I had the chance to meet the owner, manager, sales associate, and all the mechanics. Very impressed with all of them. They knew how special my Honda is and I plan to come back for a thorough maintenance service and tuning. The store is currently getting a major makeover and provides a very comfortable environment while waiting for service. Refreshments are a great touch. Hopefully the renovation will include the shop area. As a VERY GATOR business they made a SEMINOLE very welcome, although I had to make sure I left with my FSU tag. read more

By far the worst experience I've ever had with an automotive store/ customer service. PLEASE READ & DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MOMEY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!!!!I had an oil change,tire rotation,fluid fill up and full service check on my 2012 vehicle(great condition under 45,000 miles). On Sunday,two days after leaving Midas, 4 engine lights appeared &my car would not start. I. Called Midas where I was told, "all I can do is hook it up by I don't know what you want from me . He then continued to say, "you take your vehicle anywhere in town and have them write down something my shop did wrong and Ill give you a refund." I took my vehicle to Honda where they discovered MY OIL WAS OVER-FLOWING, FLUIDS WERE NOT FILLED UP, AND MY BATTERY WAS DEAD. I had to get a rental car in the meantime. When I called about a refund I was immediately accuse of " just wanting something for free". I even had a technician from Honda fax over documentation proving the services were faulty. The entire time I was speaking with the "assistant manager" who had originally told me he was the store manager. Mocking me with his hands yelling at me and never once taking accountability. I'm upset because I paid for a service I did not receive not to mention the lack of managerial experience. When I asked for the district managers contact information I was Denied. Charles, the assistant, continued to yell and mock me. My refund was never processed. I was accused of wanting something for free. I processed a chargeback with my bank and sent the documentation from Honda. As a paying client I've never felt more disrespected or " used". I will be calling the "real manager" tomorrow as well as their corporate office, district manager, franchised owner and writing the BBB. Please take my advice and do not go here. Waste of time,waste of money, waste of space. All for a refund of $83.00. I wish I could have posted this with zero stars. read more
