I reached out to about ten shops asking very detailed questions like the labor cost, part cost, labor cost if I were to bring in the parts, warranties, the difference between a part and labor warranty, whether or not they will maintain the warranty if I were to deviate from an OEM part, etc. From my search, their warranty is the same as any other, which for my thermostat for a 2007 Mazda Miata is 2 years for parts and labor. If you bring your own part, then they can only give you the labor warranty. Other shops do this too but there are some that will not install a part that they didn't order. The reason I went with them is that they are one of the cheapest of the ten I contacted and that they are super friendly in answering all my questions. They were very accommodating and allowed me to drop the car off before work and to pick it up after work. They also kept in contact throughout the process.
The big reason why I'm leaving them 5 stars is their brake service. I had a brake stutter and I had them do a visual inspection for free. They also drove the car but could not replicate the symptoms. This is where they differentiate themselves from other shops. Most places, if they cannot recreate the symptom, they quit investigating. This is common and I have encountered it with my past cars. They said they can clean the rotors and pads and see. In doing so, they also dove deeper and inspected the caliper bolts, shims, and guide bolts. That's when they found that the guide bolts are seized and fixed it. Most shops will happily take my money and clean the brakes HOPING it'll fix the problem. They charged me to clean the brakes but they kept digging, found the issue, and fixed it and didn't charge me extra for doing so. Intermittent and unreplicable problems are the worst because they don't show you the symptoms when you need them to. It is rare to find someone that is willing to continue to dig past what they are paid to do when they could've taken the easy way out.
TL;DR: Warranties are the same in the area. Cheaper than many shops I contacted. Worked beyond what's expected of them. read more
