I was using turbotax and eventually it just got to be to much or not worth the money to bother. Started looking between H&R Block, turbo tax, Jaxon Hewitt it was to expensive. Eventually got recommended Dean Ferraro he even got good reviews on yelp. I contacted Dean, he was very nice, professional and fast. I like that everything was electronic so I didn't have to leave my house. All done by pictures and electronic signing. He went above and beyond even called me on my birthday and wanted to check in. This review is long over due. Best tax guy you will ever have. Cheaper than the big companies and others. read more

The IRS came after me saying I owed them more money on a cancelled debt...not a great day when I got that letter in the mail. Dean at Authoritax looked into it for me, spoke to the IRS audit department directly and resolved everything really quickly. To my relief, I saved about $2000 and the IRS admitted they made a mistake. The word "audit" can be one of the scariest and most stressful situations in adult life, and thankfully, there are good people out there that know what they're doing and will help taxpayers like myself fight back with fair representation. My advice, don't go it alone against the IRS and leave taxes to the professionals. read more

I had moved to another state in the year 2006 and had done my IRS taxes however forgot to do my California state taxes. Just this past year Dean helped me by filing my 2006 state taxes getting me back in shape with the state of California and of course processing for me a refund which due to the Statue of Limitations, I could not get Dean is extremely professional, time efficient and his services are second to none. I recommend him to anyone!! read more

Last year we were referred to Dean for his help on resolving a lingering IRS matter (2016 tax year). Dean took care of our IRS matter within a week and turned a bogus $181k tax bill to a $635 refund. We decided to use Authoritax for our 2018 taxes. The process was smooth, relatively effortless (taxes are never effortless) and efficient. We will continue to use Authoritax in the future. read more

Dean is the man. My tax situation was a mess and I had the IRS all over me. I paid the jokers at Optima tax over $1000 and they did nothing but ask me for $5000 more lol. Called Dean, he came to my house, looked at all my stuff and asked all the right questions. A few weeks later and he had it all sorted out, saved me a ton of dough and did it for a very reasonable fee. Support your local guy, Dean will answer the phone and help you. I'm sure your situation is not as "WTF" as mine was ;-). Highest praise and review. Ps: I refereed Dean to my good buddy who had a couple tax liens on his credit from along time ago and Dean handled those too like a pro. read more

I've been a resident in Mission Viejo since 1987 an relied on Turbo Tax most years when filing my taxes. This last year I was facing some tax issues I couldn't understand. Dean Ferraro and the Authoritax Team have been an enormous help in assessing and fixing my tax issues. They not only educated me on certain tax laws I was ignorant of, but after an in-depth analysis of my past IRS filings I was able to recoup past returns from the last three years that I was unaware of. If I didn't contact Dean Ferraro and the Authoritax Team I would have never recouped past returns still owed to me by the IRS. read more

I just wanted to thank Dean so much for all the work he did for me on my taxes! I usually do them on my own and this year was just way too confusing for me so I went to Authoritax for help. I am also extremely thankful that he was able to as help me over the phone and email so that I didn't have to bring in my 15 month old with me multiple times to handle this. It is also not surprising to me that he found mistakes on my previous years taxes and cleared and amended that for me, so not only am I getting a nice size refund this year I am also getting money back for last year. I really cannot say how pleased I am and appreciate his hard work. There is absolutely no doubt that I will be using him again next year as well. read more

Dean was a great help! I have always felt in the dark when tax season came around when I would go to H&R block. Being a freelancing lighting and rigging tech tax time is always a pain in the ass, especially when you collect 7 W2's at the begining of the year on top of that first year doing taxes with a kid! Dean made life soooo much easier and broke it down and explained everything into a way that anybody could understand. I have definitely found myself my tax guy, I guarantee that your experience will be just a great if not better! read more

Fast, knowledgable, and one goal in mind, to get you the best refund possible. Nobody likes doing taxes, my theory is why do them? I work hard. My free time is worth a lot to me, so I always get my taxes done by some one else. Just hand off the paper work, and get to the bottom the line. These guys are fast and accurate. Always available, and fast to respond to any issues I had. I cashed out a pension last year, and thought I'd be screwed. They managed to knock what I owed way down, and for a fraction of the cost of H&R Block. I'm a firm believer of "Can't some one else do it?" If you're gonna have your taxes professionally done this is the place to do it. read more

When the IRS contacts you about anything, why hassle trying to figure out the best course of action or get a tax attorney. Dean is an independent agent in cahoots with the IRS. He passed all their in-depth technical courses and became an EA (Enrolled Agent) for them. The IRS uses him to help you and they save on employee salaries. Oh and did I also say he does individual and company taxes. He also gives great advice. He's saved folks thousands of dollars. Give him your 1099..he'll make you shine. He has great references if required.. read more

I don't know where to begin. I am so grateful and thankful for Dean and Athoritax! I messed up on my taxes big time, it was my first time ever trying to do them on my own. All of a sudden I check the mail one day and behold a letter from the IRS demanding $8,000! I tried to resolve it on my own but failed. That's when Dean saved my life. I signed a power of attorney and sent him my taxes and in turn the IRS owes me money I never claimed. I couldn't believe it, still in shock. Now let me add Dean was able to do this even when I live in Texas! I am so blessed to have a man like Dean representing me. He is very professional and just very smart! You will not be disappointed trust me. I hope that he continues to bless other just how he blessed me. read more

I came to Dean with years of improperly file taxes and in a matte of a few hours he took care of the current year, refiled last year, and worked out a road map to the financial independence that I desired from the IRS. While Dean wasn't able to wave a magic wand and fix all the problems that I caused by going to someone else to file my returns, he gave a very logical and easy to understand explanation of what he was going to do and what I needed to do to help myself. I will be using Dean for all my tax needs moving forward. read more

I used dean after a call I made to him. He sounded like he knew what he was doing but after the initial call it was all down hill. It took him over 6 weeks to do my taxes with 3 completion dates in weekly intervals that he never meet. He also asked multiple questions that he already had answers to if he had gone through the docs I had sent He may have been confused with my tax situation or too busy but there is nothing worse than being lied to over and over. And when you start your taxes in February it shouldn't take until April to receive them b read more

Dean prepared our taxes for the first time this year. He was efficient and very responsive via phone, text, and email. He had a packet of everything in checklist format that we would need to get for him and went through it to see if any other items would be needed. I met Dean today to have my taxes done. I couldn't be happier with his service (even though I ended up paying taxes). He is honest, straightforward and extremely knowledgeable. He spent two hours with me, going over everything and explaining it all in layman's terms (I tend to go into a coma when it comes to taxes). He made me feel very much at ease, unlike other tax consultants I have dealt with. I will definitely be using his services from now on. His prices are extremely reasonable considering what he brings to the table as far as knowledge. Forget all those other tax services (and I think you know who I mean). He is definitely someone you can count on to get your taxes done right. read more
