I had to file a tax amendment for stocks that I didn't accurately reporting. I was interested in RH Tax services and I met with Dalles Hessling to process my amendment. I provided all forms and Dalles let me know that my amendment and all supporting documentation was complete. I began this process in November and unfortunately Dalles has been very challenging to work with. During my time with Dalles he was very late to respond -twice with some kind of family emergency and another with some prolonged sickness. I received a letter from the IRS stating that Schedule and Form 8949 were not completed. I trusted Dalles to provide the appropriate advice. I attempted to complete my schedule d and my form 8949 and I offered to pay for the review. I reached out to Dalles three weeks before the additional documentation was due. I asked if he had the bandwidth during tax season and he said yes. One week from the deadline I checked in to see how things were progressing. He was confused by the request and I had to re explain the ask and resend the documentation. He assured me that the documentation would be revised and submitted on my behalf. I called twice and sent over two emails over a few days and the deadline passed without a word from him. He ghosted me and I have to now figure out a resolution in my own I strongly advise that potential clients consider choosing a more responsible tax consultant. I paid $550 for nothing. I've had to hire another tax consultant to fix the problem and still have not heard back. This has been a very disappointing and frustrating experience. read more

Impressive business! I must say that at first I wasn't so sure. It was a challenge to schedule an initial appointment, and then when I needed to reschedule, I couldn't reach anyone by phone. Yelp messaging and Ross to the rescue! They're highly responsive via Yelp messaging. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he has the app (and his business messaging system) open 24/7 during tax season. When we finally got our intro meeting, we went over a few things via phone. I felt comfortable going ahead with having someone else do our taxes (for the first time ever). Giving up that work was weight off my husband's shoulders, but I always loved tax season and working through the numbers. We dropped off our documents on March 27th and streamed in other details via the business messaging system. I checked in with him a couple of times. We honestly weren't in any rush, but I still wanted an idea of what was going to go down (especially since we were paying someone now). We received notification that everything was complete on April 10th. I was in awe at the results. Happy dance!!! I would not only recommend this business (P.S. Military discount! Don't forget to ask. 2017 was my husband's first year owning his own small business, so as soon as we realized tax time was around the corner we began to panic a little bit. In my search I found several tax companies claiming to specialize in small business taxes and helping to maximize deductions, but I found myself most impressed with the 5-star reviews for RH Tax Services. Seeing as they are a small, family-owned business themselves I was especially sold. I reached out to Ross via Yelp and he promptly responded and scheduled a call to find out what our needs were and provide a quote. I was even more so impressed that our taxes were not expected to cost even close to what I was planning on. Huge plus for us as brand new small business owners! I ultimately put us in a bad spot by taking my sweet time to schedule our appointment, and by the time I did Ross had a packed schedule. He did what he could to accommodate, but in the end my appointment ended up being with someone else. When we arrived for our appointment we had to wait for a while as the appointment ahead of ours ran over time, so we got started later than intended. Our preparer was apologetic, and once we got going everything went smoothly. Our preparer helped us think of expenses that we hadn't even thought of, and helped us do the math wherever we got a little hung up. When it was all said and done, our taxes were filed successfully and we had a much clearer picture of things we did correctly in our first year, as well as things to improve on in the following years. When it came time to pay the IRS, I somehow misplaced the information on what was owed and contacted Ross who sent me a digital file of our return within a matter of an hour or so. Incredible. Dalles just did the taxes right in front of me. I have never had that happen. I usually give the stuff to the guy and it takes weeks. I really appreciated being a part of it, seeing him go through it and we talked about different ways for me to save. Before I came to RH, I started doing the taxes on Turbo Tax, owed over $5000, freaked out and called this place. Dalles got me down to getting a refund on one side and I owed a few hundred on the other. He saved me. This was worth the drive from Cardiff a thousand times over. Go here. An update to my previously updated review of 7/22/22: After speaking with my credit card company it is difficult for me to understand how it was impossible for RH Taxes to be unable to immediately issue a credit(supposedly attempted three times). I have received credit on card purchases or payments in the past and they have always occurred immediately. I now have to wonder if the process was ever initiated and even if it was and failed a check should have been written and mailed immediately. I don't expect to continue to do business with this company in the future since I can't help but feel that an attempt was made to ignore the credit due me, expecting that I would give up. read more

I hate taxes! I am happy to pay my fair share, but how much is that? When it comes to abstract concepts, visualizing the unknown or coloring outside of the lines I trust myself, but balancing a checkbook and record keeping cause my heart to palpitate! The right side of my brain dominates the left side and wins every time. For years I have failed to pay my quarterly taxes, filed extensions and then struggled to postmark them on the last possible day.
