I paid $350 deposit for an online tax prep meeting so I will have to dispute charge with my credit card to get my money back! Stay away! Edit: Taxlana returned my $350 deposit. I did not get my taxes done by them so I cannot comment on that. But the experience of not being able to reach this company by phone or other and the location listed is not legit. But I cannot give a review positive or negative on the quality of tax prep by this company.

The CPA I was previously working with was great during tax time however she wasn't the best at helping me strategize the rest of the year. Being an employer, I wanted to start offering my employees retirement accounts, health insurance and things like that however I wanted to understand how that would effect me during tax time. I interviewed about 5 different CPA companies and ultimately chose to work with Matt and his team and here's why: 1. They are a great time. There's been times when I had weird scenario questions and he would pull a couple members from his team in and they would brainstorm right in front of me all of my options then come to a conclusion on the best option for me. It's been pretty cool seeing their dynamic. They have people there who have experience in all industries. 2. He has a strong background in the financial & investment industry. I already had a strong relationship with a financial advisor however the fact that Matt has that background AND he's a CPA has made it so much easier on me AND my financial advisor. They work together to advise me and strategize throughout the year to make sure I'm being smart for NOW and my FUTURE (and for my employees NOW & THEIR FUTURE). 3. They are a small business and have that nice cozy family feel. I like working with them because everyone is so friendly and helpful. There's been times when Matt is now available however they always ask how they can help and someone on his team will call me back and get me the answer I need. His dad Pat is super friendly and the front desk Kim is always so cheerful and welcoming in person and on the phone. Thomas on the operations side of things is always going above and beyond and answers my emails so fast! Everyone here is awesome. 4. They are reasonably priced. I was paying my previous CPA who was a single CPA a little less to just file my taxes. Now I get this entire team and I pay a little more for all that experience. I interviewed a good amount of CPAs and some of them were large firms in downtown charging an arm and a leg to file my taxes. This firm is reasonably priced and you will get so much value for working with them. Overall, if you are looking for a great reasonably priced CPA to just help you file your taxes these are the people for you AND if you also need extra hand holding like me these are definitely the people to help you! Dean at Authoritax looked into it for me, spoke to the IRS audit department directly and resolved everything really quickly. To my relief, I saved about $2000 and the IRS admitted they made a mistake. The word "audit" can be one of the scariest and most stressful situations in adult life, and thankfully, there are good people out there that know what they're doing and will help taxpayers like myself fight back with fair representation. My advice, don't go it alone against the IRS and leave taxes to the professionals.

When I arrived to the appointment, she wasn't there and the door was locked. I called her and she asked if I could come 2 hours later so I did. On top of being late she was also rude. I brought my little sister (my dependent) and she asked me "where's the dad?" Right in front of the child. She looked at me like she didn't believe I should be claiming my dependents I guess because I'm young and she thought it would be rejected or I was lying?? Every time I've filed my taxes I always get around $4,000. She got me $2200 from state and federal combined. That's the lowest return I've ever got. I also told her that I bought a car that qualifies for the California clean vehicle credit since it's a hybrid. Without even checking if I qualify, she immediately told me no you don't qualify because it has to be fully electric. Since I was trusting her and thought she should know better than I do, I didn't question it. Well long story short I am now amending my 2023 taxes because I DO qualify for the clean vehicle tax credit. She made me miss out on a $4,000 credit because she didn't even bother to check if I actually qualify. I went in to a new place to do my 2024 taxes and asked about the vehicle credit and it took them 2 minutes to figure out I DO QUALIFY. So now I will go through a few months long process of amending my taxes so I can claim the credit before it's too late. I wasted $200 paying her to do my taxes and now I'm going to spend more paying someone else to fix them. Oh and she gave me $20 off since she was late. Thanks a lot. Overall she was rude, unprofessional, late, and didn't know what she was talking about or just didn't like me so she didn't bother to do a thorough job.
