Tony is AMAZING! I think the man can relate to anyone. I am starting a business that has been on the back burner for years (I had opened a different business in 2008 and was busy with that until 2012). While his average client earns $200,000 a year, he was willing to offer his expert advice during his promotional free consultation with me (One on one). He has written a book, "Outsmarting the System", which I offered to buy, but he ended up offering me a copy as a head start to my business. I read the book in 2 days. There is an affiliate program through Amazon where you can refer others the invaluable information to save on their taxes and earn money per sale of the book. Tony also suggested buying the book, "Deduct It", on Amazon to take full advantages of being self employed to reduce taxes. His expert knowledge of being a former IRS auditor really inspired me. He is very humble about his skill set and strives for win-win solutions, otherwise he will not take you on as a client. My goal is to earn enough money to be able to go to him. For now, he suggested I complete my own tax return. I completed my own tax return in 2013, but after reading his book, I may need to do an amendment (1040X...you have 3 years) because his book offered a deduction I may not have taken....depreciation on real estate....so I may have an updated review to give even more 'kudos' to Tony! My new business is a product offering for the self employed and Tony referred me to a Trademark and Patent Attorney. The man really tailors his appointments to what you need and the next steps for YOUR success. All of this amazing customer service and he STILL found time to write a book to teach others that may not be able to get to his office tax strategies that one can take advantage of right away. I, like many others, find taxes to be the bane of my existence. To add insult to injury, not only do I pay a crap load of my Salary to the government, every year I have to fill out a tax return that makes no sense. Being the frugal guy I am, I have always used Turbo Tax and basically have-ass my returns... This time I got bit, and hard. I got audited by the IRS in the form of a CP 2000. Basically a thick envelope came in from the IRS that stated I owed the government upwards $9000. First thought that crossed my mind was, hello Ramen next 12 months of my life. Second thought was, I'm going to need professional help. The IRS Audit, aka CP 2000 was super confusing, thick, and made absolutely no sense. Looking around on Yelp, I found Strata Tax. Going to there website, I was able to schedule the next available appointment. Tony is the owner of Strata Tax, and man is he a pro. He has his MBA, CPA, a billion other qualifications, and also use to work for the IRS. The moment he saw my audit, he scoffed and told me he could handle it, no problem. He really knew his stuff and within a week drafted my a full response letter and put together my package, ready to mail. Pro's: 1. Tony really knows his stuff. He has been doing this for a long time. 2. Point's for his integrity. He basically told me that I don't need professional help for filing my taxes, but it was good to come in for an audit. 3. He explains everything. Honestly after he step by step walked me through the entire process, I actually understand what I did wrong and what I need to fix next time. 4. His rates are very competitive. I actually called a few different Tax places, and his was right around what everyone was charging. However when I got there he told me straight up if I needed financial help he could work with me also. 5. The man never sleeps. I emailed him documents at odd hours and he responded right away. Con's: 1. A little creepy how much he likes his Taxes... Just kidding, sort of. No con's. Seriously I was literally freaking out after getting audited, but after meeting with Tony at StrataTax, everything started to become all right. No lie though, he does like Tax Law a little to much... Seriously, if you have any tax needs, this is the place to go. I got on Friday a 10 page IRS Audit (CP 2000) which had so much jargon I wasn't even sure what to look at. Within a week I had a finely crated letter fighting my charge along with a lot cleaner admendment. Just reading through made me feel a lot calmer. Tips: 1. Work with the guy. When he tells you to get a document for him, the faster you do, the faster he can do his job. 2. If you aren't sure, just schedule his free 1 hour consultation. Any worries will be dispelled. 3. Even though StrataTax is relatively new, I have no doubt it will grow quickly. Eventually all good services will get full, so don't wait till the last moment. My appointment was on Friday at 5:00pm 08/31/2012. I was greeted by Anthony, the owner of StrataTax, with a warm and welcoming greet. I must admit, I am not really fond of CPA's because they act like Stepford type people. Very fake, no emotion pencil pushing geeks where you just want to flick the geeks ears and spray them with a water pistol just to see any kind of an emotion. This was not the case with Anthony; He was friendly, caring, really outspoken, very informative. Could have sworn I was in college with a professor getting accounting 101, 102, 103, 104, 105. He is a former IRS pencil pushing auditor that moved up to a great status in 9 years. From small business- Fortune 500 companies. He is young, brilliant and has that fire in his eyes to help. If I didn't know any better I would have sworn he was a Mormon on a mission from God. But no, he is genuinely out to help small businesses get it done right the first time with honesty and no fluff. 2 + 2= 4 with him. I own a residential and commercial inspection company, that is state wide, I thought I knew what I was somewhat doing. Hmmmm, that would be a BIG FAT NO!! After learning about the myths, and learning the facts from this CPA, MBA and a few more letters after that, I would not go anywhere else but to him. Being in business is stressful enough, finding that right puzzle piece (StrataTax, Anthony ) I feel less stressed. I met him once, stood him up once (9:00am) he said that pissed him off, but he understood. Gave me 3.5 hours of his time for free. Gave me a referal to an attorney on top of that. Gave me references to a couple of books too! He is a straight shooter that has the fire so many have lost. I highly recommend him and his office. This site only lets you leave 5 stars. Looking through all the reviews I thought "there is no way a place (especially a tax firm) could get 5 stars with each review" until I tried StrataTax. And.. you know what...? I gave them 5 stars!! Yes.. they are amazing. I have to agree with one of the reviewers that the freakiest part about Stratatax is how much they love taxes. It's truly a passion to these people. PLUS they are not like most tax consultants.. Tony and Donna are personable, funny, professional, and they make a great team. Tony is an amazing CPA and tax expert. His approach is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Here's his approach: he meets you to see if you're a good fit for his services (mostly small corporations in the professional services sector like healthcare, engineers, etc). You pay him for this session only if you want, we paid because he gives an amazing overview of the IRS's inner workings and the big picture. Then if you are a good fit, he gives you two overview sessions that is a micro MBA course (on a very high level) and the key principles of the tax code that will help you determine whether something will be tax deductible. Tony's approach is what we've been looking for in our 7 previous CPAs and Enrolled Agents but haven't found: to help us plan well so we don't end up scrambling to try to minimize our taxes after it's too late to do anything about. Unfortunately for us (and probably luckily for him), our tax situation was of a level of complexity (we got royally screwed up by Accountable Solutions - STAY AWAY) that we were not a good fit for Tony's laser focused niche. I found StrataTax off Yelp. After reading a fellow Elite's trustworthy review, I followed through to set up an appointment with Anthony. I think there are two CPA's at the office, but Anthony had a lot more letters/credentials after his name. Anyhow, they are located in a small commercial area with plenty of street parking. The office itself is merely 2 rooms. Right off the bat, I can tell Anthony was different from other CPA's that I've been to. First of all, he use to work for the IRS. He pinpointed out what the areas that they pay extra attention to when auditing. My previous CPA apparently got a bit creative and aggresive with the numbers - which although got me more in return put me at a bit of a risk. They could have also been at my request since the younger me was more reckless. Anyhow, what made me appreciate Anthony's business is that after reviewing my previous year's tax return, he told me to just go through TurboTax and save money. I thought my tax situation would be complicated, but the previous CPA already did most of the work and all I needed to do was a little math and update on the previous year's data. He did not want to charge me for something so simple unless I was that lazy. He then talked about the tax system, and that if I wanted to start a business, he'd be the best guy that can get me started. I'm sure I'll be back should I go that route. read more

Strata Tax is a legit five star business. I'd give six stars if I could. I've used two other CPAs previously. Strata Tax makes them look like amateurs. Anthony Campidonica has a unique perspective as a former IRS agent, which helps business owners minimize their tax burden in a justifiable manner. He genuinely wants to do the best possible for his clients, and delivers a high level of service and attention. I received an incredible amount of value from Strata Tax and got important, actionable advice which my previous CPA didn't mention even though I was paying four times as much. The service was friendly, unpretentious, and attentive, with lots of communication. To be sure, Strata Tax is not right for everyone. If you like to do your own taxes, not a good fit. If you run a shady operation and want help evading taxes from Strata Tax, not a good fit. If you are high maintenance and are too cheap to pay a reasonable fee for superb service, not a good fit. Word is getting out about Strata Tax and I understand some prospective clients are now getting turned away -- like folks that just want their personal returns filed. So I asked 4 different friends for CPA referrals, and received 4 different names. I called all 4 and NO ONE called me back. Out of frustration, I looked on Yelp, and found a lot of 5 star reviews of Strata Tax. I went to their site, and requested a free one hour consultation. Not only did I receive 2 emails from Tony, the owner, but I also received a reminder call the day before my appointment. Tony met with me at 9 am on a Monday, and spent about 75 minutes with me, even though it was tax season for him, and his phone was ringing off the hook. Besides being a really nice guy, he knows his stuff. I felt 100% comfortable with his advice and recommendations. I plan on using Tony from this point forward. I am so glad that none of the OTHER accountants called me back, because it led me to Tony. I am really snobby when it comes to doctors, lawyers, and accountants, but believe me, this gentleman can compete with the best of them. I was fortunate to find Strata Tax here on yelp a year ago. I am writing now as a gesture to Anthony, yelp, and the rest of folks out there who use yelp to find good options/services in their area of need. There were a few options for accountants with good reviews so I drilled down and speak to several of them before committing to one. It was my first year filing taxes for my own business, so many questions, variables, issues and concerns. Not having a lot of time to qualify the accounting professionals I was researching, I went with a moderately informed, more guttural decision to use Strata Tax. I am confident I made the right decision. Not that there arent other great options out there, but This place is legit. I had many complications with my situation that Tony help clarify and rectify. He did so in a straight forward professional manner that eased my concerns from the start. The other reviews here are right on. Strata Tax is not getting these high marks because they are shady and shifty and get clients unreal returns, there are MANY of those options out there but there inevitably will be a price to be paid down the road. I have personally seen this happen to several friends and colleagues over the years. What you get here (if you are lucky enough to get in, as they are so busy they have to turn folks away) is the straight dope on how to manage your finances with a concentration on taxes and planning. Simply incredible! I work in the professional services industry so I have high ideals and expectations when I fork over my hard-earned money to other professionals. Tony is one of the rare ones, who has more than exceeded expectations. The thing that stands out most about Tony is that he genuinely cares about and looks after the best interests of his clients. For example, Tony had prepared my taxes for a few years until I ran into a gray area issue last year. Although I was comfortable taking the risk, Tony recommended I go to a tax firm with more resources to handle this issue, just in case. By that point, Tony had already spent hours researching the issue and looking over my overall financial picture. My taxes were essentially ready to be filled. Yet, Tony didn't charge me a penny. He wouldn't even accept money for services rendered, when I insisted that he bill me for his time. Notably, I ended up going to a large tax company. Their services were pretty terrible. They basically just fill in a computer program like one you can buy and DIY, but have no idea how to deal with complex issues. Incredibly, they charged me even more than Tony had in the past! I give this company 5 stars because I went to them for honest and thorough help with understanding my taxes and they gave it to me, but with a little extra! I made an appointment through their online system and a few days later walked in with my tax documents in hand only for Tony to tell me my tax life isn't very complicated and that I should continue using TurboTax. Why I like StrataTax and will come back to them the moment I get my own business up and running is that Tony didn't just send me on my way out of the door upon realizing I wasn't the type of client he could really help. Tony proceeded to make my time and effort worthwhile and engaged me in everything I wanted to know about my taxes, what I planned to do once beginning my real estate business and gave me advice and connections that I could use to just GET STARTED. In this way, he was very smart and proved the philosophy posted on their website, that he really wants his clients to grow their businesses and become educated about the tax world. After whining into beers I had a few close friends recommend StrataTax and I could not be more pleased with the results. I scheduled an appointment online with Tony to look into my business and told me that his company would not be a good fit because I would need additional services that they don't provide. Instead of just turning me away he was kind enough to leave me a long and detailed voicemail and his phone number if I had any questions. I called him the next day and talked to him extensively about my situation and he referred me to his top 3 CPA firms. He also laid out what I should be looking for in a CPA as well as a general estimate for how much the services should cost. He was SO thorough, I felt that I should have been paying him for his services.
