I trust Reason Financial. Lisa has been my trusted person at Reason for some time! She doesn't let me down, ever! read more

Disappointed with the experience as a whole. I felt that I was assured better results than I received and ultimately cost me more than it saved. read more

Steve helped me with numerous issues I had with my finances and guided me literally to retirement!! Steve and his team are the only team I trust with my money. Keep in mind I retired just after 40 for working at UPS for 20 plus years. read more

Was looking for a business accountant in San Diego mid-March because my previous one wasn't cutting it. Called up Reason and talked with Lisa for about 10 minutes. She was friendly and told me she could accommodate me before April 15. Sent her my documents via secure portal and a couple weeks later taxes were done! I hate having to do taxes and Lisa did them thoroughly at an affordable price. Highly recommend! read more

My Tax Preparer retired and I was worried about finding another that I would enjoy working with. As a small business owner I always have questions at tax time. I also like to strategize and I don't like to be treated as if I am bothering them or wasting their time when we are meeting. I went from a 4 Star to a 5 Star relationship when I met Steve Pollock at Reason. I appreciated that prior to our first consultation he was fully prepared for our meeting and had already reviewed my prior taxes. We met in a professional conference room not an office filled with stacked up papers. The conference room had two monitors to view one for him and one for me. When it came time to ask "what if" questions Steve would simply plug in the data and we would see the outcome together on the spot. No "I will get back to you" or "Good Question". If you are looking for someone that you can easily talk to at any level and feel absolutely comfortable - Steve is your guy. If you need someone to help with any kind of tax or investment strategy short or long term - Steve is your guy. If you want to walk out of your financial professionals office feeling like every dime you spent was 100% worth it - Steve is your guy. read more

New client since early 2019 with Reason Financial after moving to San Diego from Chicago. Finding a place that truly makes you feel at home, and shows interest in your future as if it were theirs, is really hard to find. I own a small business and I have a lot of questions throughout the entire year, and sometimes I feel as though I can be annoying with question overload. HOWEVER...This team goes above and beyond any expectations. Keep it up Sean and team! Steve Bradley read more

I've been a Reason client for the past five years and feel so fortunate to have Sean Storck and the Reason team in my corner. Reason has always felt like a financial partner and advocate for my overall financial health and well-being. Every discussion is thoughtful, with pros and cons as well as solutions that feel custom tailored to my goals and financial aspirations. Reason has always been there to see me through every challenging moment with my taxes and corporate stock option decisions. I'm more than happy and honored to give a five star review and my highest recommendation. I'm a client for many years to come. read more

Ugh. Year after year I would dread having to plan for taxes (and this is despite the fact that I have worked at a tax-related company before!) Our taxes became complicated when our family went through many medical issues. A trusted friend introduced me to Sean specifically for tax purposes, and we have relied on him for years, transitioning with him from the previous company (different name) to Reason Financial. Sean is patient, thoughtful, strategic, and communicates clearly without being condescending. (So many people in financial roles that I have met can be arrogant, patronizing, and treat you differently based on how much you are 'worth' to them. This company is not like that.) Also, it is evident Sean is not only thorough and knows the details, he also has a wide-angle strategic overview of a financial situation. Lastly, this criterion may not matter to everyone, but Sean is also an ethical person who is conscientious and clearly takes his fiduciary duty seriously. I haven't interacted with the rest of the financial/tax team. However, the support staff in the office (my go-to person has always been Sharon) are incredibly warm and helpful. I feel like Sean truly cares about people and wants them to have a great experience working with his company. Highly recommend! read more

When you look for a tax preparer you look for a company that has expertise, honesty, and professional behavior when dealing with clients. Unfortunately Reason Financial has none of the above. I could share a story that could curl your arm hairs, but it will be easiest for you to simply look elsewhere for accounting or financial help. read more

Jessica went above and beyond when it came to getting us up to speed. She is extremely patient and thorough... making sure everything was taken care of in one attempt. I highly recommend this company and especially, Jessica, for all your business accounting needs. read more

My experience with Reason Financial has been and is still the most phenomenal (and actually a little fun?) encounter you can have with something like taxes and finances. I've worked nearly exclusively with Matt, who has not only repaired years of mistakes made by my prior Tax Preparer, but also helped my husband and I get our finances in order when it came time to purchase our first home. He has also helped me set up my own business guiding me, with painstaking patience, through steps A(bsurd) to Z(any). Case in point: Did you know you have to take out a newspaper announcement about the launch of your small business-like a formal wedding engagement? I did not either until Matt told me. The entire team at Reason Financial are highly professional, extremely friendly and peace-of-mind subject matter gurus. I could never trust anyone else with my finances; and frankly, never will. read more

Steve and the team at Reason Financial have been hugely important and helpful in planning for our family and business future. We utilize Reason for both tax services and financial planning. Having everything under one roof with a team that understands the full picture of our family's finances, business endeavors, and future goals, has completely revamped our strategy and comfort in just a few years of working together. Cannot recommend them enough! read more

I was referred by a co-worker to Steve. He is very patient and thorough when going over tax strategy and implications. Steve is also a down to earth and honest guy who is easy to talk to and able to explain some of the complexities of tax prep in laymen terms. I would highly recommend Steve and Reason Tax Group. read more

We were referred to Sean at Rawdin-Baron to help us with our taxes when we opened a business in Old Town, and we are thankful for the recommendation. They do both our business and personal taxes. We have nothing but positive words for our experiences here. Everyone is professional and punctual with important filing dates. We have had the pleasure of meeting everyone in the company, and we are confident in recommending them to our friends and family for taxes and financial planning. They are a great group of people and an excellent local business to support. Hopefully, some day in the (near) future when we businesses off the ground, and there is a little left over at the end of the year Sean and Rawdin-Baron can help us with financial planning. read more

I called looking for advice and arbitrarily selected Steven Pollack from the directory and he was very helpful. He didn't hold back just because he hadn't engaged me as a client, and once I explained my fairly complicated situation he said I was already doing all the right things and that I didn't need to come to him. It's hard to find that kind of honesty these days. read more

I called Reason Financial looking for help with my tax return based strictly on their great yelp reviews. I usually handle my own tax returns, but this year they were a bit too complex since we now have a new rental. The tax return was completed timely and they had great suggestions to minimize our taxes in the future. Everyone we worked with (Tanya, Jessica and Lisa) were knowledgeable, efficient and professional. We especially loved that there was a dog in the office! We will be back next year! read more

I'm probably one of Sean's smallest accounts, but I get treated no differently than if I were a prominent business owner. I usually do my own taxes, but I've gone to Sean, from a friend's recommendation, for about five years now. I have a very simple "TurboTax" kind of life, but Sean always seems to get me more on my returns than I can manage on all those free tax preparation sites. He's definitely worth his small fees that he charges for tax preparation. In addition to taxes, he also gives very sound financial advice; he's been helping my new family plan our future, nearly free of charge. I shouldn't forget to mention Sharon; Sharon is his assistant that really makes things run smoothly. Every time I call she is always very sweet, professional and helpful. Just yesterday she spent an entire hour helping me get some last minute documents to my mortgage lender while I was busy at work. She handled all of my phone calls, emails and faxes with the bank so I wouldn't have to. This is just one example; year after year, I get the same great personal service. Besides financial business, I'm always asked how my family is doing and what my personal interests are. They really care about their clients on a personal level, the way business should be done. If you want sound financial help with a personal touch, this is the place. Thanks to you both! read more

Great team at RBTG. I found this firm on Yelp and seeing as they had reputable reviews I decided to go in for help filing my personal 1099 earning from 2014. I got set up with an appointment the following week with Steve Pollock. Steve walked me though the whole process, answered any questions I had as well as give me great advice as I plan grow my business. The one time fee was very reasonable priced and I plan to have this firm and Steve help me with my financial needs for years to come. Thank you very much for the help! read more

Fantastic tax prep company. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Lisa is one of the best.

I needed some emergency tax planning advice and needed help on what/if I should form a corporation in order to minimize my taxes. Right away I spoke with Jessica who was very very nice, patient and genuine in her willingness to hear my situation and offer advice. I also later spoke with Steve who gave me some solid advice on what to do and how he could help me further. This was all over the phone. I am still getting my finances in order so I havent booked a formal office consult yet, but I will as soon as I am done! read more

I was referred to Reason Financial for my tax prep this year and they did not disappoint! I was so impressed by their attention to detail and professionalism throughout the process. They also suggested some retirement saving strategies that will help reduce my future taxes which I've thought about in the past but thought we're too tricky to try and understand. Reason Financial honestly exceeded my expectations and I will definitely continue using their services in the future! Highly recommend! read more

Reason Financial has saved me a huge amount of money over the years due to their excellent service. Jessica Folsom is a life saver!!! I called around a few places asking for help and most did not even call back. After seeing their Yelp reviews, I went online to schedule with Reason Tax Group and was assigned Jessica. She not only helped me address the IRS letters that I was receiving, but while reviewing past returns done with former CPA (that was really mean), found money I never claimed! What??? When does that happen? Never!!! It was like winning a game show. Not just a life saver, but life changer. I will never go anywhere else. I had her amend past taxes and address all my issues. Could not have turned out any better. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jessica. You are truly amazing and I highly recommend you. read more

Personable. Quick. Affordable. From the moment I walked in to when I picked up my taxes I was shown hospitality. I walked in with no appt and asked to get seen. Even though Reason Tax is by appt only Matt had time between clients and gladly accepted me in his office. He was very informative as well as researching anything for reassurance right in front of you! I felt very comfortable and trusting in Matt and his company. Not only were I taken in from not having an appt but I was done in less than 30 min! Matt and his company mostly handle complex or business tax professionals. With that in mind I was worried about price. I got a positive experience and it came at an affordable cost. No more worrying about paying half your return to have someone you can rely and trust do your taxes. Just come here and feel safe. Taxes are priced to each person. I can't say this enough, Thank You! read more

I scheduled a free half hour consultation with Steve about some complicated taxation issues regarding our family business. Prior to the call I had done a fair bit of research on the questions I was dealing with. He nonetheless brought several new points to my attention and convinced me of his firm's competence. I appreciated his actionable advice, which I can now use even if we don't hire his firm - I mention this to point to their generosity. But we are nonetheless considering taking them on as tax advisers and preparers. Thanks Steve and the Reason team! read more

I called in for an intital consultation and was met with short, cold answers and the consultant (Lisa?) was impatient and unwilling to hear me finishing my questions (regarding filing c corp tax, not just payroll questions-which she said they don't do). Will not consider again. read more

My family has been working with Steve at Rawdin-Baron (Reason) Tax Group for YEARS now, and after becoming an independent, I elected to follow their lead. My taxes have never been simple yet, as I've been moving states in the summer for about 3 years now, which means two state tax returns and lots of headaches and confusion for me. I should also mention that I live across the country from the office, and as such, am limited to phone interactions, but even with this limitation, I will ALWAYS stick with Rawdin-Baron/Reason Tax Group. Beyond the fact that they know my tax history, and my moving history, they make it so easy. I attempted to do my taxes independently on turbotax and ran into some major concerns. I called and made an appointment, and Steve was able to help me resolve the issue for a very nominal fee, while using turbotax. He made sure that I had the right boxes ticked, and even sorted out the issue that TurboTax had imported from my W-2. We elected to take this route because my location is not covered by the traditional software he uses. Even troubleshooting the problems I ran into, we were done in 30 minutes! I will always stick with RBTG/RTG. They're phenomenal. read more

We found Steve after my husband had a weird tax issue he couldn't solve, and we've been working with him ever since! He is the best! Makes everything as simple and easy as possible. He is always very quick to respond to weird questions I might have during the year. We have had complicated tax issues during more than one year (this year it was a dual state filing, last year it was an audit!) and he makes the process as quick and as pleasant as filing taxes can be. It is always such a relief to know that I have an expert in my corner who will do whats best for me in the long run, even if that might mean more complicated work for him. We couldn't be happier! read more

Steve was referred to me by a friend and I am beyond grateful. 2015 tax prep was most complicated tax year I've had (1031 exchange and multiple rental properties) and Steve made sure everything went very smoothly. He is very transparent, knowledgable and really took the time to explain everything to me. He helped me find greater deductions and tax strategies for this tax return and moving forward. Steve is the first accountant I have ever enjoyed working with - highly recommend Steve and the others at Reason Tax Group! read more

I've been with Reason Financial since before Sean and Steve resumed the business when my original financial team retired. I am sooo happy to say the services they provide for me continue to be of the best quality and full of great financial guidance which I need since money is not my area. I learn something new every time I sit in to get my taxes done and the best part is I walk away with more knowledge to help better my retirement future. Thank you Reason Financial for taking a real interest in my financial well being and explaining things to me that help me make better decisions with my money that I work so hard for. Tax time wracks my nerves anyway, and I'm so grateful Sean talks me off the ledge and takes they mystery out of the IRS. For me those letters now stand for Im Really Sound.......love it. I have been using Reason Finacial for years and this is my first year as a 10-99. I was so nervous about what taxes were going to look like and how to do my deductions. Reason Financial is far the best. I left feeling great, educated and prepared for the year ahead. They are not only knowledgeable but kind, personalizing each experience. Each year I expand in my financial needs and there hasn't been anything they haven't been able to help me out with. Go to Reason Financial for all your financial needs! read more

I selected this business to help with my income taxes due to having a 5 star rating by every customer. Within 5 minutes into the appointment, I already knew why they were rated so highly. Matt was extremely knowledgable, helpful, trustworthy and patient with all of our questions. He gave us solid advice on changes we can implement now as to not owe as much next year, which was above and beyond. He saved us about $4k after it was all said and done. Matt does financial planning as well, so we are excited to also be able to utilize this service as well. We will be lifelong clients, they really knocked our socks off! read more

These guys are really good! The experience blew H&R out of the water and the return was a much more positive experience than past experiences. I came with a large list of questions regarding my previous tax return and Steve was able to provide detailed answers to all of them. He even calculated how much money I'm going to have to pay in taxes after all deductions this year. As a small business owner I've dealt with many different tax preparers and most of them are way over priced and unresponsive.
