Horrible horrible horrible! I would rate this woman as ZERO STARS if I could. She's unkind, unprofessional, and entirely illogical. When I first spoke with Marilyn over the phone, I worried whether she'd be a good fit, as her tone was abrasive from the get go. All the same, I decided to give her a shot and set up an appointment to meet at her office. I showed up to the appointment 3 minutes late (her office is hard to find, as the front door is located around the corner from the street address), and she said she wouldn't see me! I clarified that I would be paying her for the full hour and certainly didn't expect her to stay late, but all the same, she wouldn't see me. Never mind the fact that I had driven out to La Mesa. Never mind the fact that we had set aside 3-4 pm for a meeting. She refused. I couldn't believe it! Marilyn is extraordinarily unprofessional, unkind, and altogether unpleasant. I wish I would have read her reviews in advance. Had I done so, I would have known to pursue the services of a more professional and courteous CPA. Do yourself the favor of steering clear of this horrible accountant. You, a paying customer, don't deserve to be treated this way. read more

If I could give this woman A ZERO I would. We scheduled an appointment with her to complete our taxes for a fee of $225.00. First red flag was I had trouble getting an appointment to set up an initial consult. When we finally got an appointment with her, her computer was not working, ok fine that happens. Second red flag, she called me "Sharon." She promised our taxes would be complete within a 3 day time period. I already knew that this was unrealistic; however, that's what she had said. Our tax documents were not completed for 2 weeks. I did not complain, I just figured she was busy. During the follow up appointment we found out that we would owe a significant amount this year and it was definitely a surprise to us. We left the appointment with the understanding that we would take some time to think about what to do with our financial situation and plan for how much we could pay each month. Per Marylin she said that was fine and neither of us had agreed on a set date to when we would come to an agreement (this was early March). So now we are at April 5, and I give Marilyn a call to schedule an appointment today to wrap up our taxes and pay her the fee that was discussed. She immediately started yelling at me over the phone saying she had tried numerous times to contact us with no response. I informed her that I had never received any calls or emails and asked how she had tried to contact us. She stated she emailed my husband numerous times. I asked my husband if he had received any correspondence, he stated he received one email last week and had not responded yet because we had not come to a decision. I then asked Marylin why she had not tried to phone us; that made her more mad stating it's not her responsibility to track us down. She then got personal and said "you're trying to put your problems on me." Then hung up. I was so in shock that this was her response. I waited a few minutes and called her back. After being yelled at and talked over for another 2 minutes, I was finally able to respond. I explained to her that she had been 2 weeks late getting us our docs; therefore, she is obviously not in a hurry and that the last time we spoke we would get back to her, with no definitive time frame; (obviously we would get back by the time our taxes are due.) I explained that I was calling to set up an appointment to wrap everything up and pay her for her services. She stated she would meet with us today; however, this animosity that this woman has toward us makes me not even want her to do our taxes at all. I don't trust her. She told me that either we can finish our taxes with her or not and if we chose not to we don't owe her any money. So I guess I'm going to be spending the weekend doing our taxes online since now we got fucked by this psycho and taxes are due in 10 days. Will NEVER do business with her again, extremely unprofessional. read more

I called to set up an appt. one month in advance, we agreed on 4:00 on March 16th. Arrived for the appt. but were told we were set at 11:00am because she had Drs. Appt at 4:00. I would never set an appt for 11am because of work. I remember telling her I needed a late afternoon appt. No sorry for the screw up, just put the blame on me.
