In February, 2026, I was suddenly engulfed in excruciating pain with several herniated discs which had me in ER many times for aggressive pain management. In the interim, I saw Dr. John twice a week. Although I committed to 30 sessions, certain that every one would be needed to salvage what was left of my spine, Dr. John stabilized me in 12 sessions. It pains me to write a negative review but I feel compelled to do so. I have been a patient of Dr. John Austria for probably ten years. His waiting room used to have a TV monitor that posted items about chiropractic matters that was always informative. But now, the monitor is filled with religious quotations from the Bible which I find offensive (quotes from Psalms.) There are persons who are not Christians, who do not subscribe to organized religions and who are atheists (as am I) or perhaps agnostics that are offended. I went for a follow-up adjustment today and in addition to the monitor with quotes from the Bible, there is now Spotify music from a Christian Music channel being heard in the waiting room, songs praising Jesus. I allow that Dr. Austria is apparently a devout Christian but I find this obvious display of Christianity in an office (not a church) to be offensive. I am no longer a patient here. read more

Was referred by a friend several years ago. A long history of spinal degeneration flared up with intense pain and difficulty walking. Multiple testing with orthopedics and neurologist consults and physical therapy...refusing heavy duty painkillers. Improvement noted after 2-3 weeks of twice a week adjustments and return to normal within 2 months. I have been having regular adjustments every week since. Dr Austria is gentle and caring. His staff are lovely. The office is clean and smells fresh with essential oil diffusers. And the holidays? Love the Thanksgiving and Christmas decor. Cant say enough about Austria Chiro, my moms shy with her English and I usually have a hard time trusting others will offer the care I want for her but little did I know the chiro also knows Spanish. My mommy walked out feeling brand new and with a huge smile. It's been a few years since my original review. I am forever grateful to Dr. Austria and his team. I've been running and working out on a consistent basis for while now. I'm also able to coach several sports, all because he helped me get my back healthy 6 years ago . I go in every once in a while for maintenance adjustments. I'm pain free and living life. I was extremely frustrated; I had been to a few doctors who after verifying that I did not have scoliosis would give me pain meds for my "sciatica" and send me a on my way. I had seen another chiropractor that did absolutely nothing. By the time I limped into Austria's office you could see just by looking at me that my back was out of alignment. This place is awesome and I would recommend anyone to come see Dr. John. I came here because I was looking for a good chiropractor but I ended up with an amazing one. From my first visit to now my experience has been nothing but delightful. On my first appointment Dr. John got an x- ray of my back. I knew it was bad due to my constant back pain that I blame on a bad car accident. My back was 7 degrees off. I was going in 3x a week for a few months and now I'm down to 2x a month. My back was 3 degrees off on my last X-ray. I can definitely feel the difference. My back pain will probably never go away completely but coming to get my back adjusted has helped greatly. Before I would have daily back pain, lower and middle. Now I feel it but not even close to before. 1-10, it use to be an easy 8 now i can say it's a 2. Pricing is reasonable considering it's for your health lol. The staff is awesome, Alex the receptionist is so friendly and kind. I have been coming here for over 2 years and felt terrific about that decision for a long while. The adjustments Dr. Austria does are exactly what I need. He's a really nice guy and good at his work. It started to become a lot less personal and more of an informal dance shuttling patients in and out as quickly as possible. Today with COVID spikes in and around the county & country, the two receptionists did not adjust masks to fit over their noses when asked and patients are not even enforced to have a mask on - let alone - wear it appropriately to make us all feel safe in the small waiting room. I also received for the first time a Co-pay that I was told is part of my insurance change for the year, but having gone to another chiropractor earlier this year, I did not have to pay the $. I owe my back to chiropractic care, to John Austria specifically. My x-rays show a spinal column that looks like a question mark and Dr. Austria is setting me straight. Personally, a feeling of community is not the main reason I would go to a chiropractor, but it is a huge bonus in this case. I'm not used to talking to other people in the waiting room. I'm used to sitting quietly surrounded by other people sitting quietly, but here it's different. Conversation just springs up naturally, and all the sudden you're getting to know everyone. If your back is hurting, he will fix it. If it isn't feeling super any more go in for a consultation. If you don't need it, you won't pay for it there, but if you do, you will be so happy you did. Insurance, or a lack-there-of should not be a deterrent. They will work with you to help you get better because they care. This may sound cheesy, but it is so true here. read more

I had back problems for years-- first became aggravated playing youth soccer and became progressively worse as I got older until I had to quit playing amateur soccer at age 28 because I was in such discomfort after every game. Then my writing career made it worse by simply sitting at a computer for 4 to 8 hours a day. I finally had a mini-melt down over the pain, swelling and discomfort about 5 years ago and just KNEW I would need to get some kind of surgery. But then my amazing wife surfed the internet and found this dude in North Hollywood-- Dr. John Austria. He had some stellar reviews on some review website back in 2005-2006 and my wife insisted I try him out. Let me preface this by saying I had been to maybe 7 or 8 chiropractors over the years, several acupuncture specialists, and a host of massagers ranging from cute chicks that walked on me to a few beastly women with large hands that went deep, deep, deeeeeep tissue on me (this provided temporary relief but the pain would be back within a couple of days). So I was skeptical and not all that interested in trying yet another chiropractor. But my wife insisted-- God bless her. I finally go see this Dr. John Austria guy. Now, because of the name, I expect to meet some tall Germanic white man with massive hands and an Austrian or German accent. No. As I'm sitting in the room waiting for the doc, in walks this short Asian kid who looks like he's 18 years old talkin' about "Hi, I'm John Austria." Then he shouts something Spanish out the door at a passing patient. So I'm thinking "WTF? Who IS this guy?" But he was calming, confident and down to earth. Dare I say it-- he was cool as a mafucka. He looked at my back, acknowledged the swelling, then studied my posture. Just on sight he wondered if my hips were titled. I told him I used to date big women, so of course my hips are crooked! He suggested I get x-rayed. X-rays confirmed what NO other chiropractor had told me in 10 years-- MY HIPS are actually titled, one of my vertebrae is out of alignment and my muscles have been overcompensating which is why my shit is so swollen. So he does an "adjustment" on me-- ie, he cracks my back. Now mind you, I'd had my back adjusted numerous times, but NEVER with the precision that my Asian, spanish speaking, Germanic-named friend did. It was a shocking relief that went through my body. I went to see him 3 times a week for 2 months until my swelling started to go down and the pain subsided dramatically. I now see him once a week and I have ZERO swelling in my back and the hips are straight as an arrow, bitches. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Austria!!! Peace out. Don read more

Little disappointed on today's visit. I was asked to wait outside by the staff. After 20 min I was getting impatient since I had to pick up my child and would be running late. There was no place to sit outside so I found a little brick wall to sit on the edge, I walked in and asked how much longer. I was told another 30 min. This was no excuse to not call your clientele and notify them that he is running late. Especially with the pandemic you have to be 6 feet apart and obviously there wasn't that much room in the waiting room with so many people waiting, another older gentleman was also asked to wait outside and he saw me trying to sit so he joined me. I was forced to leave so I can be on time to pick up my child, considering it took me 30 min to get to my appointment and another 35 min to get to my other destination. Very saddened that I had to write such a review since I do like John and he's a great guy and I've known him for quit sometime now.
