Ok so I dropped a star specifically because when I went to check out, I had to wait in line as there was only one person at the registers. The one person in front of me seemed to be doing multiple transactions, that's all fine and well, but to have all the staff come up to me while I'm shopping and then watch as several of them stand around and see me waiting was pretty annoying. The one who was already at the register had to tell another staff member to check me out. It was weird.

I was leaving to go out of town at 7 am with a small tote bag. I was about to put it in my trunk until I realized I had left my car keys inside the house. So, I get my keys and then get into my car parked in the drive way. I hear this weird noise, but did not think anything of it. I was semi-awake, so I didn't give it a second thought. When I got halfway to my destination, my hubs calls me and said my clothes and shoes were on the car pavement in front of the house. You guessed it, I drove right over my tote bag. Amazingly, nothing was damaged other than my shoe box. So off I went to the Container Store to buy a plastic shoe box to replace the one I ran over and blasted to smithereens. Did I learn my lesson...absolutely? Don't take a tote!? No. If you are leaving early in the morning pack your things in the trunk the night before.

I have a new project where I recommended that my client take my drawing and have them design something similar for the laundry room as his new house has no cabinets there. They do a fabulous job here and you won't be disappointed. I use a custom cabinet company for custom millwork in the main living areas, etc.. but for closets and laundry rooms and even home offices I think they can do a great job! They did my master bedroom and den closets for me. I went with the darker wood because that's what I had throughout, but I recommend using white in closets as it doesn't show the dust as much.

The painful process was somehow made doable by Kat and her team (shout out to Emmerie!), with their firm but gentle persistence to get it all done. They really kept me on task/gave direction when I needed to sift through things which was incredibly helpful. Otherwise when I had to work or was busy with my kids they never seem to waste a minute. Moving with two toddlers was completely overwhelming, but they unpacked and got us organized in the new house in just two days. I called them back to organize the garage I'd managed to stuff full with overflow and in just a day they had it all perfectly purged, sorted and stacked. They showed up on-time and worked without stopping aside from a short lunch break (which was always fun getting to chat with them) -which was quite impressive given the slog I put them through. He had no lights on his trailer so I didn't see him until he was about 50 feet away. I went under the trailer and hit the axle at around 45 mph suffering head trauma among other things. My life was forever changed. Assessing the damage still years later it was found I lost the ability to organize things around me and remember what I had. I tended to keep things out in the open so I could see it every day and take an account of what I had. Then I moved in with my entire household of stuff into my grandmother's home which was also full of stuff. To make matters worse I had become a bit of a shopaholic after my accident. I could never remember what I bought so I bought it 4 and 5 times over in many cases. I was tripping over boxes and furniture and my family or friends would no longer come inside to visit. My mom did some research and hired Randi Lyman of A Helping Hand. She couldn't have picked a better person to help me. Randi is very considerate and a positive force even in my life today. She is so supportive and in no way looks down on you regardless of your situation. She is so compassionate and incredibly professional. My house is now organized and de cluttered. He's just a guy with an affinity for organizing, and he also has carpentry skills for building wooden organizational shelves. (This was not necessary for us, as our garage already had wooden shelves built in.) Rich came in, looked at our garage, took photos, discussed what I wanted to accomplish and how to accomplish it, and then quoted a fair price which he stuck to. We agreed on a date, but be forewarned- Rich has other work commitments, and it took awhile for our schedules to match. Once we agreed, the date was solid and honored. Rich arrived late morning as planned, and he worked very hard single handedly all day. He removed wooden shelves that weren't being used in order to make room for larger containers, which to my delight he labeled with easy to remove tape. We loved that Rich labeled everything! He was industrious, polite and efficient, and he hauled off what we weren't keeping at no extra charge. When the work was complete, Rich gave us a tour of our newly organized garage. When we asked questions and made suggestions for minor things we felt would help us further, he quickly agreed and got to work without further charge. One thing we really appreciated was how she worked with us: she sent Pinterest boards with curated suggestions for rugs, furniture, and accessories, which let us shop and pick out what we loved within her design direction. Whenever I found something on my own, I could send it to her and she'd let me know if it fit the style we were going for. That collaborative approach made the whole process feel personal rather than having someone just dictate a design to us. She was also hands-on when we needed it, helping with installs like placing a rug underneath the primary king sized bed. We couldn't figure out how to hang pictures in the foyer and she sent a drawing to help us with it. Moving is normally so stressful and overwhelming but having Moxie here was the magic cure for that! (The other major component was using Heavenly Moving to do a full service move that included packing- highly recommend!) The Moxie team had EVERYTHING out of boxes with the cardboard broken down and packing paper all bagged up when they were done. They left me with a beautifully organized home, including all the drawers, cabinets, closets, even the "junk" drawer (which is too nice to even be called a junk drawer now lol) and the peg board in the garage! If I had tried to do the unpacking myself it would have taken months, it wouldn't have been completed so nicely, and there are things that would have probably never gotten done at all.
