I've been using Austin Sign Co. for years. I've had them make stickers, banners, and signs for JMueller BBQ, LA BBQ, Beck-Reit and my commercial real estate properties. I really enjoy working with small business that know how important quick turn around is in a pinch. I've never submitted anything on-line (although they may have that option). I just call and explain what I need (usually they have to figure out size based on my limited description or photos). I've done business with these guys in the past, and was pleased with their work. 3 weeks ago, I sent in a request for a quote for a sign. After a week with no response, I called and spoke to the manager. He apologized, said he didn't know how they missed my email, the owner was on vacation in NY and he usually did quotes.... I was promised a quote by end of day. Did I receive one? No. I called again a week later, spoke to someone else, was given the same song and dance - quote would be forthcoming by end of day and a phone call from the production manager. Did I receive either one? No. As a customer, I shouldn't have to try harder than you do for a sale. Go somewhere else for your sign needs. read more

I had an awful experience at this establishment and will never do business with them again. I went in and asked for 2 car window signs to be made and 2 logos to be created based on ideas I had. I expressed my ideas, one of which was to have a cartoon image of myself made and I was told by Rusty, the owner that they could in fact create a cartoon image of myself. I e-mailed him a picture of me that I would like my cartoon based on and I also send them the current logo I am using and would like revamped. I paid for 2 logos to be created and 2 car window signs to be created for a grand total of $840. $150 per logo design and $540 for the car window signs. A month went by and I hear nothing, I check my spam folder and sure enough I find an e-mail from them with samples of their logos for me. I look at the logos created and the one I asked to be revamped, nothing was done to it with the exception of they cleaned up the lines but it looked identical to the one I sent them just slightly neater. The second and most important logo I needed created was a complete and utter joke! The artist on staff literally cut me out of the picture I provided and did some sort of hazing effect to the image and did not create a cartoon based on the image provided. Then he put 1 dog and 1 cat that were completely different styles then the image of me. Honestly is was terrible. So I went into the store a few days later and was greeted by Rusty again. I told him I was NOT happy with the initial offering of the logo design. Rusty says "Lets go talk to the designer now and you can talk to him in person." He leads me to the back room and Rusty explains who I am and walks off. I told the designer that I was unhappy with the logo created and he pulls it up on the computer. I said that I had asked for a cartoon image of myself be created and I even went so far as to pull up an image on-line on my phone of exactly what I was looking for, only one that looks like ME! The guy scoffs and says "That requires someone to hand draw that image and I don't do things like that." I am floored! I tell him that Rusty told me that was something that could be done and the guy says "Well maybe at home on the side I can do it but its not something we normally do. He tells me that he will draft something up and send it to me." I walk out and begin the waiting game. 2 months go by and I still haven't gotten any e-mails with my logo. So I head back to the store, absolutely fed up with how I was treated by this company who I already paid for their services and they haven't met their end of the deal! I walk in the door and the first thing I say to Rusty is that I want my money back for the car stickers I had paid for. I told him I have been waiting for months for my logo and I am asking for $540 back of the original $840 I paid. I am willing to admit that they did do the $300 dollars worth of work on the logo design that I hadn't received. Rusty is caught of guard and says lets go talk to the designer. We walk into the back room and after talking to the designer he pulls up a cartoon image that he tells me that he drew at home on his own time. I tell him and Rusty that I haven't received that image via e-mail and that I am tired of waiting and I just want my money back. Rusty and I go to the front of the store and I tell him the comment the designer had made during the prior visit about "Not doing things like that and the maybe on the side at home etc" and I point out that the designer mentioned today that he had drawn that image at home. I told him I was tired of waiting and just wanted my money back so I could find someone else to create a logo for me. Rusty clearly dose not want to do this for me so he offers me $250 of the $540 I am asking for back. I said no but that I would accept $400 just because I wanted to be done with these people. Rusty agrees and we SHOOK HANDS then he says that they have to issue a check and that he will mail it out to me. Then I wait an entire month and I get no check in the mail. So I head back into the store and Rusty is behind the counter as usual but a woman is there as well. I tell Rusty "You have my money, I want my money, give me my money now. Where is my check?" He says "I decided not to issue you a refund but instead will grant you a store credit so when you get a logo done by someone else you can have us print it." I said "No way, I don't want to give your store ANY business, EVER after the way I was treated. You have my money, I want my money NOW!" The woman whispers to Rusty "Why don't you just give her her money back?" He shakes his head at her and I turn to her and start to explain briefly why I am upset. She asks how much I am owed and I tell her $540 but we shook on $400 just to be done with it. She pulls out a check book and cuts me a check for 400 right then and there. Rusty and his designer are so unprofessional, I would NOT recommend these guys at all!!!!! read more
