I see they are hiring, I get it, I also get this place is huge! However, there was trash all over the put put course, the water was full of trash as well as algae. The inside of the venue was filthy, the bathrooms were disgusting and there was absolutely no protocol in taking action to protect people or families from covid. No one was masked, (fine I get that too) but if hundreds of people are going to be unmasked Unser o e roof have anti bac available and CLEAN the place up and pick up trash. The service was awful too! Waste of money. We came later in the evening and they failed to let us know that laser tag and bumped boats were not working. That's a huge part of why we went and ultimately needed to know that BEFORE spending $50. The staff were real rude and the tipping point was the go karting. We waited close to an hour and a half for go karting because the girl working Saturday night let each group race for 15-20 min each. We asked her how long the race usually is and she said 5 min but since she's the only one it's taking longer. So finally we get to the front and we're the first in line, mind you we've been there for 1hr 30 by now, and my friend had to use the restroom-no worries because we have 15 min at least before the racers before us come back. She jumps out of line to go and while she's gone, this girl says she knows our friend has been waiting but when she comes back she needs to go the back of the line. Absolutely not. She had a conversation with us and knew the friend wasn't cutting and acknowledged she went to the restroom. We said people have been moving up all night and we never minded, also nobody will have an issue with her coming back in line and that I am prepared to talk to them if they do. The people behind us heard the conversation and agreed the girl was being ridiculous. We had an argument about it before she ultimately just muttered stuff about us under her breath and walked away. This was at 10:00 and there would have been no way the friend could have gone to the back of the line in order to ride by 10:30 (when the outside rides close)...certainly not at the rate this girl was flipping rounds. She was on such a power trip and so disrespectful. Ultimately we paid $50 for 1 go kart race and some kiddy rides. Major props to the nice man working the fire truck ride outside Saturday night. He was a whole vibe and made our kiddy ride a blast. read more

Do NOT throw a party here. I threw a party here on September 14th and the service was AWFUL. I picked doing the party during the week because I know it gets crowded on the weekends. There wasn't really anyone at the park so there's not an excuse for the service to be so slow. Our party "host" took FOREVER to bring out our food and drinks, and would never get us refills. She never checked on us. And this made me a little upset because the tip was already included in the party package ($60). It was RIDICULOUS! The bowling is nothing like the bowling alleys. I mean I didn't expect them to be all fancy like the bowling alleys but at Austin Parks N Pizza the pins are held by STRINGS! Wth? It was just awful. The kids were done playing bowling in 15 minutes because it took forever for the pins to line back up and the ball to come back. I tried to ask the manager if I could get some sort of credit or something for the trouble and he was not nice at all. I could not believe they treat customers like that. I wasn't going to let it ruin my sons birthday so I was to the hell with it and we went and played laser tag and go carts. The kids had a BLAST with laser tag, even though half of the devices didn't work. The little kids didn't even know what was happening they just enjoyed shooting the gun. But come on, get equipment that works! The pizza was surprisingly good, I'm not sure what their salad bar has to offer but the pizza was on point. The video games are crazy expensive, even with the party package each kid gets $5 but each game is an average of $2 so they get to play 2 games.... And the prizes at the end are not great. Overall, I'm really disappointed in the service at Austin Parks N Pizza. I paid a pretty penny for a nice party and it was crap. Never will make the mistake again. The prices aren't terrible, but for the quality of food you get in return, it isn't worth it. And the number one thing as a cook that you would think would be obvious is that you need to properly season, or season in general, everything. This place sucks for birthday parties. Each party package requires a minimum of 10 kids, which under normal circumstances is fine. However in my case, one of my guests couldn't make it due to a flat tire on the highway and another guest had a family emergency. Talk about bad luck. Between the two, my son was missing half of his guest list. At the end, I asked if they would cut me a break and they refused. Couple that with me having to pay a gratuity of 40 bucks to the birthday host assigned to us who did nothing but bring up the pizza and drinks, and you can see why i'm upset. Look elsewhere. More than half the customers here were NOT wearing masks. No one observed the sign to social distance and I had to tell several people to back up because they were not six feet away. the employees could have cared less if people weren't wearing their masks or social distancing. I thought the pizza was pretty good, the games were sparse... many more required additional money (quarters) than I was led to believe on the phone. The go carts were kinda slow and lame, the laser tag was silly, no place to hide. No line organization (kids kept "cutting" in line). So if I somehow find myself in "I Am Legend II" in Austin, I might be able to get my money's worth. Otherwise, I think they need to work on logistics and management. read more

Okay - the last time I went here I took my family that visited for the weekend. Sweet Jesus that was a mistake. I hadn't been there before and didn't know what to expect. It was my fault for not checking here before I did but you live and learn. The food was disgusting and smelt bad. It takes a lot to get pizza to smell like that and honestly I don't know much about making a pizza but I'm pretty sure mine would come out smelling better than that... would probably be a tad burnt but still. How much does this place suck? I've spent the last few hours running through all of the things that were horrible about our experience here, and what I've realized is that this place sucks so badly that I can't even muster the energy to disparage it in detail. I'm reminded of that scene in Grumpier Old Men when the really old guy (played by Burgess Meredith) makes a crass sexual comment to the really old lady and she says: "I find you disgusting!" We had my sister's 10th Birthday party here back in June 2013 and let me just say I wish I could give this place 0 stars. My mom had the party here because she was told she had to pay about $300 and just bring the kids and cake. The rest would be taken care of. For the first 30 minutes, my brother and sister and their friends sat around twiddling their thumbs because there were no planned activities. After 30 minutes, the kids' game cards finally came and the kids scattered downstairs. When the food arrived, my mom was forced to go round up the kids and get them back up to the party room, which was just a room with tables and some confetti and cheap toys on them -- nothing special. The whole party could have been executed at my house for less than $50 and we could have taken the kids to play laser tag. To rent this room for $300 was ridiculous. There was no schedule for when games were to be played, gifts opened, cake eaten, etc. There was just no plan in place, so it was chaotic. My mom brought all of this to the general manager's attention and told him that she thought she deserved to pay something but certainly not $300. And guess what the manager did... HE THREATENED TO CALL THE POLICE!! At a 10 year old's Birthday party. My mind is blown! read more

My work had a function at Austin's Park and Pizza yesterday and rented out the entire park. Because I still geek out like a little kid when it comes to arcades and amusement parks, I was pretty excited about going to it. All of the video games were free for the event except for the ones that gave out tickets for prizes. Sadly, a lot of the really cool games that I was excited about playing without having to feed endless amounts of tokens into were broken. The games that did work only halfway worked. Some of the first player guns on games like House of The Dead and Police Trainer were utterly useless. I never thought I would complain about free pizza, but what they had in the buffet was more like cooked cardboard with tomato paste and cheese melted on top. It wasn't even like the kind of pizza you got in grade school. As for the much anticipated laser tag, most of the vests had at least one broken strap and the guns didn't shoot worth a crap. All and all it was an amusement park full of what seemed like hand me down entertainment. It will be the perfect setting for an episode of Scooby Doo where they visit some broken down abandoned amusement park. read more

The staff is pretty good in my opinion. That's really the only reason they are getting more than 2 stars. The food was pretty mediocre. The go karts are abysmal. I'm sorry, but I expect them to not fail before the end of that grueling endurance race of 3 whole laps. It's because they are running all day long. It's pretty obvious to anyone with an inkling of mechanical understanding that these things are not maintained as well as they should be. I went on the regular go karts first, couldn't finish the race on account of the engine losing all its power requiring an employee to push me back in. Then I went on the "pro" LOL go karts, and that one failed on me as well. Also, I expect the kart to go in the direction I turn the steering wheel, instead of continuing to go straight like the ones we drove did and I was taking the racing line the whole time so it's not like I was taking sharp turns. I wasn't expecting much at all from these go karts and I was still supremely disappointed. I think my self propelled lawnmower has a higher top speed then these sorry excuses for go karts do. I could put square wheels on my bicycle and go faster uphill. The rock walls were cool and different. The laser tag was good. The worst part of going to places like this is the other patrons. Being a lifelong Austinite of more than 30 years and doing a good bit of traveling I've observed most other cities don't have the same kind of turd-holsters that Austin possesses. You've got disrespectful kids running around with no adult supervision and zero concept of person space. Groups of inconsiderate pretentious people who are completely oblivious to being blatantly in the way of everyone around them; I had to say "excuse me" about 37 times to people and it wasn't even that crowded. However the worst was the overweight women wearing crop tops; if I wanted to see a whale trying to put on a show I'd go to Seaworld. They at least have a bar to help in easing your pain of having to go to places like this. read more

Our little girl who was clearly above 36 inch. was denied a combo package because she is just a tad bit above the line. I guess the lady named "Anna" states that height measurement is measure on the forehead and not ontop. Weve been to this place multiple times and never had an issue until today. Even tried to talk to the management and nothing was resolved due to the manager just walking away without letting us know what the verdict was. Its saddening because it was 13 of us in our party. For me, the pro section begins shortly after arrival: I went to Austin's Park and Pizza for the first time just after Christmas. Our group was sizeable and we paid over a C note. I was a little sticker shocked when we walked in and at first I was thinking 'there's no way any of the food is gonna work for some in our group with dietary restrictions'. I asked to speak with the manager to ask about the food prior to entry. Johnathan and Marcus came over and explained how their gluten free pizza's work and which sauce was dairy free, etc. - they even double checked a particular item for me with a smile. They have salad and fruit - it was perfect. I was thrilled. Every member of our group was gonna get to munch together! (now its not gourmet just really kids friendly - after all this place is for kids.) We got our wrist bands and began to explore the park. There were very few people there as it was overcast, chilly and a weekday. We were thrilled! We were not there to play video games so I cannot comment on that area as we did not participate in the arcade. We also did bumper boats and since it was kinda cold they did not have the sprayers running - which was awesome because I was a little worried about that. We enjoyed a round of mini golf. We played lazer tag. We rode rides. We ate pizza. We were there all day long! It was a fantastic happy kidtastik frenzy kind of day! Every member of our group, young and old had a great time. Our focus was on fun with the children - with that in mind we would do it all again in a heartbeat. The management was more then helpful and we all enjoyed our junk food fix -together- which again, was the point. There are three different sizes of go carts so every member of our group was able to ride multiple times - this was probably the highlight of the activities for the kids. The only CON of the whole day: Now, I will say that the (full size) go-cart girl was rude and cranky to one of the kids in our group- but I was armed with an unbeatable smile and friendly yet firm voice so she turned her attitude elsewhere. I think she must aim her pout at easy pray cause she did not realize the kid was with me until I spoke up. It's probably time she find a new career away from children. Seriously. The five stars is considering how friendly and helpful the managers were as well as how clean the place was. (Seriously there are kids running amok with dirty hands - it could have been really bad!) The fact that they have food to safely accommodate those with dietary restriction and really seemed to care when we spoke. Also remember that this place is for kids - and it is kidtastic! read more

Honestly, the only reason I come here is because my child likes the bumper boats, laser tag, and arcade. It has a good variety of things to do for all ages, but there are several things that keep me from rating it higher 1. When its crowded, you stand in a line forever, esp. the buffet line 2. Bathrooms are pretty gross. 3. Food really isn't that great. I'd call it mediocre at best, but when you buy a package deal of eat and play, you essentially get it for 5 bucks. In college, I remember somewhat fond memories of this place. After a quick visit back to Austin, I don't know what I was thinking. If you're over the age of 18 and want to hang out with friends, you're better off at Dave and Busters. This place was crawling with farting kids running all over the place. The batting cages were really terrible. The machines were not very consistent and quite a few tokens were lost. Miniature golf was the only highlight of the night. It was nothing special but nothing was broken and no smelly kids around. Lastly, the food was gross. I know... I know... there are better words than "gross" but that came to mine. It was watery and not very flavorful. I am seriously surprised that I didn't get a stomachache. Overall, I really despise this place. It's not worth the money, time, or gas to come here. read more

Moms can get in free on Mondays, so I went with my 42" kiddo, costing us about $14. The food was terrible, but it wasn't crowded. We really did get to ride all the go-karts we wanted, despite them being in various stages of disrepair (don't get the yellow one!). Mini golf was great - we played both courses and my 5-year old actually had a really good time. Most of the kids who worked here were doing things like playing on their phone instead of supervising rides, so I'd say as a parent be aware of your own kid's safety. Because of the low price and non-crowded nature of going on a Monday, I'd probably give this place 4 stars in that particular situation. However, I used to come here all the time on weekday evenings when the place was dead to hit at the batting cages. The cages aren't always great, but if you go enough, you can figure out which ones to avoid. 4/5 times I'd have a good experiece dropping by for 20 mins or so, hitting $5 worth of balls and leaving. I'd do this 2-3 times per week. However, there is now a new rule that you can't just come by to hit baseballs, you have to pay full price + cost of the cages. That jacks my $5 for 20 min hobby up to $20 for 20 mins. I can't keep with that. I sent a few emails inquiring as to the problem and even offering solutions with zero response. So... bumped down to 2 stars for killing the best anger management therapy I had going. As an aside - if anyone knows of any other outdoor, coin-op batting cages in the north Austin area, I'd love to know about them. These are everywhere in Dallas and practically non-existant here. read more

This is the first review I've ever written for yelp, and had such a good experience, I had to share for other parents looking for a location to have their child's birthday. We hosted our son's 9th birthday party here and it. was. AMAZING. We had never been to Austin's Park and Pizza before and online compared about half a dozen places with similar offerings before settling on APP (and hoped for the best). We were not disappointed. We had nearly 20 kids, plus parents, and thought our group might stay for about three hours. We ended up spending almost 7 hours at APP and the kids still weren't ready to go, and hadn't done everything there was to do. The value was great on a per person basis, and the service - UNBEATABLE. I was shocked at how friendly and genuinely hospitable the party desk check in woman was, and our party "host" Marissa was so attentive, patient, and on top of our requests/needs. You expect to have some annoyed, overworked, eye-rolling teenagers there, but that was nowhere to be found. We had such a good time, we expect to plan for other events there in the future; the "Date Night" promo they offer may even having us leaving the kid at home so we can play games and not have to share. So the TDLR; Go to Austin's Park and Pizza, you'll be glad you did. P.S. Food was great, and there is a bar and TV's everywhere. Fun for kids of all ages! read more

So my good buddy from L.A. comes to visit and stays with his cousin in Round Rock. (How appropriate.) Having 3 kids, one with a birthday, he decided to take them to Austin Park & Pizza on his cousin's recommendation. I joined them. The food was pedestrian. But, that was to be expected. The games? Well, I can't say I didn't get my money's worth. But the go-karts were stupidly slow. I understand erring on the side of safety, but having at least the illusion of speed would have been nice. The inside games were not varied, and the laser tag just plain blew. But...it's not really about adults, it's about kids, and they seemed to have a good time. So if you've got pre-adolescents, good place to come. If you're older than 15, you're probably going to enjoy Dave & Buster's a bit more. Unless you like 20mph go-karts. read more

I have been here many times, but finally decided to "check in" and review; and it was not impressive. We brought the kids in on a Friday and it seemed sparse in accommodations for the prices that you pay. The limited pizza and pasta and salad items provided could have been better and fresher. The dim lighting does not make it appetizing at all. I know that they are there to provide a family "one-stop" fun place and location, but it just seemed worn out and the staff was struggling to keep up. We were there about 3-4 hours trying to do all that we could. We wished to finish off the night by getting a last minute drink and it seems that they cut off the beverages at 8pm? So we opted for water to quench our thirst. Overall, we were able to have fun and did our best to get the most from our money spent, but I will look for a better choice next time. I feel that we almost paid amusement park prices for the whole night (including arcade games) and simply got the playground experience. read more
