We buy a cow every year, and the first year we brought our cow here. 10/10 on the packaging, price and time. We've since started buying cows in Nevada and now have to process the cow there, there was a notable difference in the quality of the packaging and labeling. Austin's is still my favorite. We just got a pig done through them, and equally just as happy as we were with our first cow. Nice people, quality packaging, options for our ham/ bacon. We have been searching for a good place to purchase good meats. I found this place on yelp and we decided to take the drive all the way from Oakley. We absolutely fell in love with their meat selections, their packages and customer service. The meat is of great quality. My brother and father also now purchase their meat from Austin's Meat Service. We have a local meat vendor at our farmers market in Oakley but we found that Austin provides better cuts, quality, and prices. Cannot wait to make the next trip to replenish. read more

Small but filled with great people and great meat (guess what time it is...meat party time!). As I walked in I was immediately welcomed and asked if they could get something for me (as they diligently worked to package meats). It's a little hidden gem that offers quality meat (yeah! Good meat ain't cheap). This is a CARNIVORE dream (just bring your Benjamin's, this ain't your local grocery store). Today I bought filet mignon, bacon, and multiple sausage flavors. Go try it. Slow and low heat over a generous amount of heat will bring the natural flavors out. Have fun and happy hunting. Being new to the area, we were excited to find Austin's which is in walking distance, and have been very happy with everything we have picked up. The photo attached is the second 3" porterhouse we have purchased, and it was tremendous. We have also bought Rib-eyes and Dino bones (beef ribs). This place is great! We've used them two years in a row now for half a side of beef we got. Very friendly and very fast service! They fully explain things to you so you get a great understanding of what different types of cuts of meat are available. Prices are very reasonable too! We actually prefer this place over another near service place in our city. We will gladly drive to this one because of their great service. read more

I went here some time back and decided to try a couple slabs of meat to throw on the grill at the in-laws. The rib eyes were Uber marbled and already seasoned so I bought four of em, put on my aprin and cooked em right up! I'll tell ya this place beats the brakes off of Dave's Meat Service! Way better bang for your buck too! Everybody at the table practically inhaled those puppies and thought it was waygu! Word to the wise: have some milk or high quality h2o ready cause whatever seasoning they use had me beet red and tearing up. But I just pretended it was the God awful beer my father in law drinks. Im definitely coming back! Can't wait to slap more of Austin's meat on my grill! read more

Customer service at its FINEST. The entire staff is service oriented and professional. Highly recommend Austin's for your game processing! Most game processors are unorganized, and make you feel like you were ripped off, but not here. Great people/service, clean shop, fair pricing and phenomenal tastes/product. My kids love the chili cheese sausage! Amanda went above and beyond to get my game bags back quickly for the next hunt. Thank you! Completely happy with these upbeat happy Butchers. They aged, cut and wrapped our 'hamburger' up and did a delicious job !!

After, contacting butcher shops in Lodi, Stockton, Lockeford, and Galt, I finally found a shop that would order me an intact prime rib with fat cap. Also known as a 109. My purpose is to dry age the beef for aged rib eye steaks. They fielded several calls, and I was informed today that the roast was in. Price was reasonable, but I didn't realize the roast was too big to dry age in a mini fridge. No worries Gale said. We can put it on a hook and age it for you. Willy agreed to babysit the roast and call me if it gets a little grungy. I told them I wanted it to hang for 30 days. Stopped in here today to see if they had pork cutlets. No luck. Have checked out about 11 meat markets now and have not found any pork cutlets. Most places have never heard of them or they don't know what they are. It's really simple. They are pork head meat. Anyway the people here at Austin's Meat Service were very nice. They have a very good selection of meats. If you don't see it they can cut it for you as they are a fully equipped butcher shop. read more

Best job on meat processing quality with quick turnaround great service thanks

We bought a quarter beef from some friends last fall. Austin's is where they send their beef. Our cutting instructions were conveyed and we were given a time-frame in which our beef would be ready. The time came to pick up our order. My husband went inside to pay and a courteous young man accompanied him to our truck to load our order. It is a very clean, well run establishment. The beef is wrapped in clear, vacuum packed material and each item is marked with the specific cut and weight. Very professional. We are very happy with Austin's Meat Service. read more

Best meat in the 209! They make different flavored sausages that are to die for! It seems like the recipes have been enhanced by the new employee Esteban, his flavors are magical! The habanero cheddar are my favorite. If you haven't tried the maple breakfast sausage you are missing out! There's nothing available anywhere comparable in quality and flavor. We have been sending our beef (Ranching Business since 1859) and customers to Austin's (Jake) for many years. They were great but that is ALL IN THE PAST. We do not know what happened but last year our two beef were ruined due to NOT following our instructions. The meat is tough/chewy and the hamburger is coarse and tasteless. Either they were not our two beef, carcasses were switched or processed too quickly (we instruct a minimum of 18 days hang 20 being better). When I called and complained to Jake, all I heard was excuses and no form of apology or reimbursement ( I'll check into it and let you know). We had to call him back weeks later to hear more excuses. Can you imagine 750 pounds of meat being virtually ruined? Yes we are eating it but it takes a lot of creativity to make it palatable. So this week I get a call from my son (rancher/farmer) that had two other beef carcasses processed at Austin's and guess what? He said it was terrible, tasted weird and rancid. You know the problem is that other folks got his halves of the beef. We have not heard from them as to their experience with halves. Perhaps they are PO'd and done with us. We are proud of our beef and this REALLY ticks me off. We will never process at Austin's again. It makes no difference as we believe Jake has closed his doors and going out of business. I would not want disgruntled customers on my conscience however some folks do not have one of those. Sorry and yes I am done! read more
