Stopped by Livermore's farmers market and wow this did not disappoint. Given I was hangry after my hair appointment but I knew this was the right move. Got the 1 meat 1 side plate for $16 and was more than full. The rub on the ribs I got was insane and the mac n cheese creamy. Ribs fell off the bone wow. My fiancee loves BBQ (especially brisket sandwiches) so we had to try this stand at the San Ramon Farmers Market. We shared a brisket sandwich and a 1 meat + 1 side combo of sausage and mac. I will say, the bread was insanely soft, the brisket was so fatty and moist, and the Mac was super cheesy and thick.....but we threw most of it away. The sausage was not juicy at all, had a crumbly texture, and was quite salty. The brisket was also insanely salty. I love savory flavor, but just trying the brisket alone was hard to tolerate the amount of salt. Also, both items came with a red sweet jelly which did not help. I really wish they had tangy BBQ sauce instead to cut through the fat and heaviness. Overall- there's potential here if they dial down the salt, get rid of the jelly and sub a good BBQ sauce, and fix the sausage recipe. read more

Saw this place at the livermore thursday market. Owner came up to me and told me about his business and how he makes everything fresh. He was very nice and friendly. I've only been to sauced mostly for bbq but his bbq brisket was juicy, good fat flavor, and the amount he gave was perfect. I wish there was a little more bbq sauce on it or a side but other than that it was good. The mac n cheese needed to be heated up before i ate it but in all his prices are good and the food is delicious. Sides are $4 and the brisket sandwich was $16.50 way lower than mainstream bbq spots! read more

Good bbq. Not the best, but with few changes, possible in the talks. Sausage had good flavor and a lil kick but a bit dry. Brisket had good texture & consistency & flavor bit very salty. Wow am I blown away! This BBQ is the BOMB!! We got the chance to try this awesome BBQ joint at an event (check their Instagram for schedule of where they'll be!) and it was so good we ended up buying more to take home before leaving!! We wanted to try everything so we got the 3 meat 2 side platter and added the corn bread (3rd side) and all of the meat was so juicy and fall off the bone, finger lickin' good! We got to try the ribs, brisket, and pulled pork and loved them all! In fact, the ribs were so good, we got an extra side rack to go! They make their own bbq sauces, one being an amazingly delicious mango habanero that's perfectly sweet with heat. The customer service was spot on and I'll be following their social media to see when I can catch them again because I'm already craving more!! read more

Ordered the 2 meat, 2 sides with brisket, ribs, mac n cheese, baked beans. Brisket: not to be mean but this is levels way below Smoke and Meat BBQ in Stockton. Chewy, fat not rendered down much. Flavor was meh. Only had a few bites before I decided I'd do something else with it as a leftover. Ribs: enjoyed the ribs. Has a very subtle kick from their seasoning. Good with or without sauce. Just wish it had more of a bite but that just comes down to your preference of fall off the bone or not. Mac and cheese: this was good. I didn't ask what cheeses it had but seems like white cheddar and maybe some pepper jack? Has a nice kick to it. Baked beans: these were nice with a subtle smoke and sweetness to it. I think they have pulled pork in it which could throw you off texture wise when you see the stringy looking pieces but it's good. I may try this place again but I'll stay away from the brisket. If you think theirs is good please do yourself a favor and go to Smoke and Meat BBQ in Stockton for some legit brisket that eats like butter. To not be completely biased toward S&M BBQ, the sides I had at Hoghouse are better for sure. read more

Came across their booth at the farmers market. We were debating on if we should order from them or not, when we saw how big the brisket sandwich was and got in line. I'm not partial to brisket, but this sandwich was delicious. The meat was so melt-in-your-mouth,, it didn't even feel like biting into meat(in a good way). It was only lighty coated in sauce, but for me, the ratio felt perfect, just enough that the meat was entirely coated, but not overpowered or dripping in sauce. I would have liked if the bun was buttered and toasted, and we both agreed it would have been perfect with some sort of pickle or slaw on the side(which they don't offer). Those are just preferences though, and not a critique of the food. Would gladly order from them again if I run into them again. read more

The best BBQ place in Northern California! This place is awesome. The food is so flavorful and well seasoned. The meat is sp tender, just falls off the bone. We are always picky when it comes to BBQ because trying new places is always a hit or miss, and as many know BBQ is not the cheapest meal around but this place is well worth your money. They are reasonably priced and honestly the food is so good just take my money. The owner is super passionate about his BBQ and is always trying new things to improve his recipes. Tried it from the San Ramon farmer's market. The pulled pork was not flavourful. They made us wait for brisket after we paid and then told us it was out. When we asked for a refund they refunded the bill amount and kept the tip. The bbq is also expensive for the portions. read more

Okay so, I have two tests when it comes to ribs and bbq that tells me right away if it's good or not. #1 Does the meet fall apart or off the bone and #2 Does it still taste bomb without the sauce.. This bbq passed with flying colors! Not only was the meat good, the sides were amazing. Moist cornbread, meaty sweet baked beans, flavorful Mac n cheese. I was very please.
