When I first came to town in 2014, I missed that there wasn't a Mi Pueblo or some other chain market. When I would try some of the markets, I got some odd looks. This one has been in a couple of locations but service is good and friendly. They have so many prepared foods in the deli that lunch is a good possibility, although they could use a few tables, inside or outside. I got a burrito de carne asada today and it was huge. For the price, it was an even better value. It was quite tasty. I forgot about the tamales, or I would have asked for those. They had a few and they might not have had what I liked but still...tamales. The meats in the display looked good and fresh. The rest of the store is neat and clean. Also available in specialty Mexican Fajita style prepped meats & custom made seasoning to go for the backyard pit bosses. Next to the meat counter is a Mexican cheese section where there is a large variety of top quality Mexican style cheeses ( free Samples upon request) Moving over to the Food. There is a full service food counter with a large selection of traditional Mexican dishes. You can order anything from Burritos, Birria plates, tamales, etc. the menu is vast. Connected to the food counter is a salsa bar. There you can order casero salsa to guacamole and all salsas and spicy levels in between. Continuing onto the bakery. Hands down in my opinion the best pumpkin empanadas in San Joaquin County, plus a large variety of other Mexican Sweet breads. You can order offer specialty cakes for all occasions. I shop here about 3-4 times a week. I purchase meat and sometimes the produce. So far I do not have complaints in either of those departments. I've always had great meat quality. As a Bay Area transplant, I've been searching for a good Mexican Market and found my spot. They must've moved because the market is located in a strip shopping center on the corner of Louise & Main, conveniently between Lombardo's & Save Mart. The store is clean, selves stocked, produce fresh and the they have hot food to go. Picked up a chili verde & Birria taco along with half a dozen tamales. They had sweet, chicken and cheese tamales left. You get 1/2 dozen good sized tamales for $9.99 and the taste is good. My fave was the cheese & jalapeño. The tacos had a good amount of meat and not fatty pieces. Only complaint was the chili verde had no hint of chili. read more

This Mexican Meat Market got some of the best marinated beef & chicken you buy. Just get the marinated meat and throw them on the grill. No need to tweak them out. Personally, I like to buy my Kalbi (Short Ribs) not marinated. We have the Hawaiian BBQ marinate, few hours later, my kalbi is ready to go on the grill. Conviently close by, Carniceria Rosita is a place to buy fresh meat as suppose to packaged meats. My first visit was two weeks ago and we bought shrimps and kalbi beef by the pound and some fresh vegetables. It's a mom and pop grocery store and it seemed like it only caters to Mexicans or South Americans, but it's not. The store caters to whoever... Friendly staff and pretty clean and organized. I don't understand the ranting and raving about this place. Call me spoiled. I come from the Bay Area where Mexican Markets have much more pride. The prices here is not reasonable whatsoever. I mean would you pay $2.99 for a tiny avocado. Then there's the prices of cheese and creama it's pricey. Then there's a lackluster bakery department. There's no signage and the self service case doesn't have prices on it either. The baked goods looked very dry. I passed on by not getting it because of it. Where are the Jarritos!!!!!!! That's a Mexican soda right! Yes. But no where in sight. I got friendly service. But they need to fix their pen pad upon checking out. I don't know if I'll comeback to this place. I am very sad to have to write this review as I just don't want it to happen to anyone else. We normally get our tres leche cakes from here and it was so delicious moist and fresh. I have been doing this for every birthday for 2 years. Well last month I recommended someone to get a cake from her for her retirement and it was extremely dry and very disappointing I thought ok well maybe it's a coincidence I felt so bad. So I then decided to get one for my own birthday again. They said it would be ready at 1pm. We called and they asked for 2 more hours not a huge deal. We showed up cake was ready and we left. Later that night at my celebration we cut the cake and it was hard in the middle and jello consistency. It tasted HORRIBLE and stale. I was so upset this has happened twice now. I just want other people to be aware as this has been twice in a row coming from there and I don't want someone else to have to throw away there whole cake. read more

I always come here to grab my short ribs thin slice and their deli is good the nachos and burritos are good. Try avoiding the time of 430-600pm just because it gets crazy sometimes. I like coming in here usually and out customer service is on the sub-par side I think that's the area where they can improve on other than that it's a great place to get your meats and deli but would be better if you get better customer service. read more

The only reason I don't give this place the extra star is that they could use a little clean up on the outside of the building. Perhaps washing sidewalks and cleaning up parking lot? Service for hot food is good until the lady with curly hair and a mole takes your order. I ordered beans with chorizo and she told me that they ran out. As I was leaving I see people order some and I waited in line to order some and she took my order 2 times while saying they were sold out. I then got in line again asking for beans with chorizo and new lady took my order and she said that they had some. It took 15 minutes to get a small cup of beans and chorizo all thanks to that rude lady saying that they didn't have any. Please that lady needs to be nice to all her customers it's not fair. The store was so clean! That impressed me the most. It was so well organized as well. Not too big but good selection and prices seem to be a little high. We purchased asada and chicken, both were pretty good. Also we tried tamales, rice and beans. All were good not the best but definitely above average. I think I'll still search for another store like this but would for sure go back in the meantime. read more
