ASTOUNDINGLY INCOMPETENT front office experience!!! I waited over five weeks for an appointment only to show up (in the office) to find that they didn't take my insurance. I even did the online check-in. They didn't even mention that my insurance wasn't covered. I don't know how the doctors there are because, obviously, I didn't get to see one. Doctors that are this sloppy about how their offices are run don't inspire confidence their medical ability either. read more

Oh my goodness, the lady who takes appointments over the phone hung up on me not only once but 3 times!!! How frustrating. Not only this but I've called multiple times, referred by my doctor, but no one EVER called me back when they said they would. How am I supposed to feel like anyone there would offer good care if they can't even hire good staff. read more

Ok guys, Dr. Mididoddi has been really awesome. He is patient and sizes you up (as in starts your exam) as soon as he walked through the door. As a matter of fact just at the end of the appointment, he mentioned that my ankles were a little swollen, I looked and sure enough I had not noticed that. We talked about test results, and since I was stage 3, I wanted to know if I was going be be stage dead within a year?( he assured meI had plenty of time) before that stage. That to happen I would have to make some changes in my lifestyle. Not eat too much of...eat more of etc. y'all take bitch about appointments being far apart, and only get a telephone call saying "you are doing fine", need to understand that if he shows good test results, why would you go in to find out you have good test results? If you've gotten bad results, he would set up an appointment. If you're in stage bad, you go on the, "got a spare kidney?" list. He took care of my Father-in-laws crazy prostate cancer using a technique that was less invasive, And when I told my endocrinologist I was seeing him. He said "Great, we like him, that's who I recommend ". So please don't knock him until you're in his shoes. He does frequent dialysis checks, has a database for donors, has to take a very careful look into family donors. In my estimation, he needs rocket power rollerblades. read more

Save yourself a lot of frustration and your potential Kidney health and avoid Austin Kidney Associates. The reasons are numerous so I'll just list the top three. 1) They are scheduling FOLLOW-UP doctor visits 5 months in advance, even after sending a letter requesting a visit within 60 days. 2) Their support staff has no ability to assist or support patients requiring help. Seem to have a "don't care" attitude 3) Cannot be trusted to call you back when promised. If you have Kidney issues please consider alternatives. read more

Was told there is a 4-6 months waiting list. So if you are diagnosed with stage 3-4 kidney disease you'll go into renal failure before anyone can see you. Very unhelpful over the phone, no suggestions no apparent interest. read more

Dr. Rodriguez-Sanchez is truly patient focused. He clearly explains, and is very through. He monitors my condition, coordinates care with Mt other providers and his team always makes certain my bloodwork and prescription authorization request are processed quickly! read more

If I could give a lower rating I would. I have gone through two doctors and have had the same result. They are rude. Nurses won't answer the phone. They would rather you go to the ER than refill scripts they know you need. I am not gonna go into detail about them but if you are a person of color RUN THE OTHER WAY. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE read more

I used to see dr Simmons but unfortunately she moved out of Austin . She was amazing. I was referred to Austin kidney associates by my family doctor . I have called 3 times. The first two I was told there was no referral I called my family dr to please send a referral again. I called the 3rd time today and the girl that answered the phone told me they did get the referral but told me she could not book me because their was no labs or reason attached with referral as to why I needed to see them. I told her I could call my dr and get it sent by tomorrow. She told me that maybe I could go see a urologist. I told her that I have a growth in my kidney that has been growing and that my family dr wanted me to see a kidney specialist. She still tells me that she can't book me because there is a 6 month wait. I told her I understand And maybe she could book me for 7 or 8 months out. She still said she could not book me. That happened today at 12:00pm I am in utter shock. I had to call my family doctor to please refer me to another office. Needless to say It has been a challenge just to get me booked with this place. read more

I waited over a month for an appointment with RAVI MIDIDODDI. Today, while trying to connect for the telemed appt, an assistant told me he had just let her know he would not be seeing me as I had seen another Dr within the practice. This was discussed last month when I made the appointment. I had seen a Dr there once and didn't feel comfortable with him. My PCP had referred me to RAVI MIDIDODDI. To have this Dr decide the day of my appointment, literally at the time of the appointment that he would not see me is beyond belief. So unprofessional. I definitely would not recommend anyone to this Dr RAVI MIDIDODDI, nor to this entire practice if this is the way they conduct business and treat people who are in need of care. I will be letting my Dr and ARC know to discontinue referring patients to RAVI MIDIDODDI - Austin Kidney Associates as they are evidently not capable of providing care. read more

Great doctors! Terrible portal and business model. Right now I have kidney needing to be transplanted. Memorial Herman in Houston has made several attempts to get the necessary information. My life just ticks away and their portal is down and can not get any phone calls through. I always have to connect the dots between them and other doctors, find my own labs, etc. I pray this Yelp comment might actually trigger someone to followup with me since their portal and phones do not work. Three Stars is a real stretch. Would give them 1 if not for the weather. I have already had to engage a Manager there due to the sub par support and administration. If timely, courteous and professional back end support is important to you. If yo dont want to wast a lot of time doing all the leg work and making all the connections chasing recorders and connecting dots then you may or probably should look elsewhere. read more

No one wants to be told that they have to go to a kidney specialist ("nephrologist"), so I wasn't thrilled about coming here. However, I can say that I feel as though I've had some of the greatest care possible. My PCP wanted me to see a nephrologist ASAP, and they referred me to this office. I called, and the scheduler was able to get me in the very next morning. The doctor, Mark Rosen, was incredibly thorough. After meeting me, he took a few minutes in silence to go through the lab work that had been sent to him and studied it. He asked me some questions and then began to discuss his thoughts with me. The whole time, he was able to make me feel at ease, smiling when appropriate and giving me helpful advice. More importantly, Dr. Rosen was thorough. He ordered a ton of tests and made sure that he had as much information as possible to treat me. In short, if you're ever in the market for this kind of specialist, this is definitely the place to go. There are locations all over town, and many doctors. My experience is only with Dr. Rosen, but I couldn't be more satisfied. read more

He never gives you the feeling that he is in a hurry, and makes sure he has answered all of your questions. I feel fortunate to have such an all-around fantastic doctor. First off the women who scheduled my appointment was very rude. I asked her how will they know exactly what's going on with me without updated labs or imaging and not seeing the doctor face to face. She's like well They go off of what your referral says. Im like how soon can I get in she stated over a month and half down the road. I wait that long just to have a 5 min FaceTime call with someone I've never met. The doctor not once asked me my symptoms not once did I get to tell him my symptoms. It was just a quick family history and telling me that my blood work from 3 months ago was fine. And that I may or may not have kidney disease. And to contact my PCP for any issues I'm having because my kidneys are not causing symptoms. How would he know that without recent blood work or even asking what my symptoms are. Than him telling me I have multiple cyst on both kidneys that could grow bigger , but to see him in a year. Are you serious. I have no appetite, my right kidney hurts , I'm tired and just feel unwell. And Litterally told to come back in a year for more imaging to see if my numerous cyst have got bigger. I'm definitely going to seek a second opinion. read more

Like the doctor that I have but it is extremely difficult to get thru to anyone to book an appointment. Takes too many calls and I wish I could say that they call back in 24 hours. I would rate them higher if they made it easier for someone to just get routine appointments. read more

I don't know if Dr Yasser Nasser is a good physician, but he is not a good person especially in his relations with women. He had a confrontation with my wife in the hospital parking lot as she was going to an appointment at her heart specialist whereas he cut her off and when she honked at him, he blocked her in, flipped her off with both hands and would not let her proceed. After she parked he came up to her car and confronted her. I called and eventually talked with the CEO/President of Austin Kidney upon which Dr Nasser immediately called me and explained that he did nothing wrong and that my wife over reacted and that he did not give her an obscene jester, nor block her car. I asked if he felt that my wife was lying and he insisted that she had the entire incident wrong. I asked why he called and he said to set the record straight. I asked if he was sorry for the way that he acted and he insisted that he did nothing wrong. No apologies! read more

Dr. Mark Rosen is just the best! He is incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but beyond that he is truly a kind person--I have the feeling that he really cares about my health and well being. He studied all the details of my condition, ordered several tests, and identified a few issues that I think other doctors would have dismissed or overlooked. He recommended actions I could take to improve symptoms that I was ready to accept as normal--something I had to live with for the rest of my life. He directed me to get tests done every few months and come back for a visit until all my tests were normal. Now I feel great and I was actually sad when Dr. Rosen said that I didn't need to go back to see him anymore. I'm not one to enjoy a visit to the doctor, so that means something! I'd recommend kind, wise, wonderful Dr. Rosen to anyone! read more

I was referred to Dr. Mididoddi by my Dr. This Dr has 5 star ratings and I hope he deserves them because the procedure to see him is barbaric at best. Called the office 3 times and finally left a message "that would be returned within 24hrs on Wed 7/12 on Thurs still hadn't heard so I called the office again and then once again and on the third try today I actually got a young man that told me no new patients till Sept, but wait it gets better since he didn't have the Sept schedule he would take my info and and once he got the Sept schedule he would call and TRY to fit me in. This Dr may be Great and I hope so because his OFFICE Mgr needs to go to work in a Vet hospital not a place where people need to feel as if you care. I would seriously consider another practice for your care I did. And it seems that I should have read Alices review first. read more

I've been with AKA for many years and I've had a good experience with all of the doctors there. My current doctor is Dr. Nasser and while I'm sorry to hear about the parking lot incident and his response, it really does strike me as odd because he does not demonstrate any of that behavior at all as a doctor. He is very compassionate and takes the time to listen and provide excellent care. He follows up with my other doctors and I can tell he takes the time to read through my chart because he seems to remember things that I forgot until he reminds me of them. I'm sorry to hear that he acted out in a parking lot but I'm not sure it's fair to write a professional review about it or call his boss because you happen to know where he works and who he is. This type of unpleasant activity happens every day, unfortunately, but I'm not sure that it's reasonable to expect more of people because someone can figure out who they are and where they work. It'd be nice if everyone was pleasant but before writing a review that can damage someone professionally and calling their boss, consider how doing so might impact your own life. That would mean you could never have a bad moment and would have to be on your A game every single minute you're out in the public sphere for fear of reprisal. I don't know about you, but I'd never leave my house. read more
