Plenty of cabinet space and drawers. The kitchen also has a large double stainless steel sink and faucet. The wall across from the kitchen has a large closet for storage and also a full size GE washing machine and dryer. The living room has plenty of room for a large recliner, a grandfather clock, a 65 inch Samsung TV and a large double door cabinet where I have my 27 inch iMac computer. Between the recliner and outside wall I also have a 36"x36" pedestal table, where I have a large hammered copper lamp with shade. The two walls forming the corner behind the recliner and grandfather clock, have two large glass windows covered by Venetian blinds. Moving through the lockable door into the bedroom there is room enough for a queen sized bed, and a three drawer cabinet with lamp. The outside wall has a large window covered with Venetian blinds. Sliding double doors lead into a closet with plenty of room for hanging shirts, and with shelves that hold baskets for socks, and underwear. Under the shelf on the right there is room for a large four drawer cabinet where I can store pajamas and a large collection of various shoes. A single sliding door leads into a spacious bathroom, complete with a shower, toilet, and lavatory. There are two spacious cabinets and drawers next to the shower. Another reason I picked this third floor apartment is that it is located next to the fire escape stairs. I never use the elevators because I like the exercise I get walking up and down the stairs. My apartment is also located at the very end of this wing of The Reserve apartment complex. Consequently I don't hear or see any of my neighbors. Thanks for your time and attention. Here are some of the reasons. -The staff is very friendly and quickly knew us all by name. They all care about the residents and family. -The executive director is very personable and approachable. -The facility is very nice and easy to get around, with a park near by and the shops at the Triangle. There are no "bad apartments" that I can see. -Contracts and policies are reasonable and senior friendly. Believe me, you should check this all carefully to avoid any nasty surprises. From past experience, what they tell you in sales is not necessarily to be believed. I am very glad we made the choice to move to these guys.

The building is beautiful with its landscaped courtyards and spacious and immaculate resident rooms. The staff is highly professional and caring with a wonderful sense of humor. Even the food is tasty, something you don't expect when you are in the hospital or nursing home. Call lights were answered promptly here and the staff go the extra mile to make people feel welcome and at home. Highly recommended.

They do have an assisted living wing as well, but she is in the independent wing. The community is quite friendly and they always have activities planned for the residents. She has been so busy that it's hard to find a good time to pop in for a visit! She's either out at a show, playing bridge, on an excursion somewhere, or there's a jazz group playing in the lounge. The employees seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and enjoy working with senior citizens. They seem to take a lot of pleasure in making sure the residents are happy and that their needs are being met. We always hear from Mom that the van driver goes out of his way to make sure she gets taken care of when he takes her to HEB, or to Walgreens, or to a doctor's appointment. The young lady who cleans her room takes extra care to make sure everything is just right. The folks who prepare and serve the food in the dining room are also very friendly and welcoming. The food gets a big thumbs up as well. Whenever we visit we find the facility to be clean and well tended. The grounds look nice as well. There's a beautiful grove of oak trees in the central green area. There are also tons of very domesticated deer to enjoy around this part of town. This is a very comfortable home for Mom and we're so glad that she found a place that is so well suited to her. Of course, with any of these senior living complexes, you get out of it what you put in. If you don't participate and put yourself out there to make new friends and enjoy what the facility has to offer, then you probably will just be crotchety about not living in your house anymore. (Mom says there are a handful of disgruntled sorts there who are angry about not being home.) For the most part though, the residents look quite happy to be there. We were helped by a gentleman named Roderick. He was very courteous, helpful and had a smile the whole time we were there. My wife said that the last time she visited her father, he (Roderick) helped them as well and they had the same outstanding experience. My father in law raves about him. About the whole staff actually. He said that the people there make the place really feel like home. You can't put a price on that. And that's coming from a man that was at two other retirement homes before and left before the contracts were up because "he just didn't feel right". Will definitely recommend this place.

There was a problem with the facility apartment insurance request. I paid and submitted the forms about a month prior to move-in and the first bill over 6 weeks later included a fee for not having insurance. I tried contacting the billing office and requested a call back to get things clarified. This did not happen and the problem was not fixed. I again went to Francine who has been my anchor at the Clairmont to get problems fixed. I finally received approval of the policy on October 17th but I had submitted the information in early August! In addition the bill itself was incorrect. The dinning room food has improved, per my father, but the utensils are still awful! I do wish your administrative staff would try using the forks at the facility and imagine that they have arthritis in their hands as these residents frequently do. My dad does better with most plastic forks than the forks supplied at the Clairmont. Please, this should be an easy upgrade. One thing we really appreciate is the ability to have a pet and to have a fenced "yard" area outside of their apartment. I think this adds a homey feel for many of the residents. Better water access would be a plus for those with outside plants. You have outside waste bins for doggy waste but no plastic bags at the one outside of the building for the last 6 weeks. Your showers do not have safety bars inside of the shower, Since most of the residents at this facility use walkers, canes or wheelchairs, why do you think it unnecessary to have a safety bar inside of the shower? This would be a considerate and wise upgrade for the apartments. Overall, we (the family) really like this facility and the people who live and work there. My Dad is still adjusting......

I cannot imagine being more pleased with our choice. The Plaza, which is a part of the Querencia complex and provides just about all of the therapy, recovery care, skilled nursing, and late in life care we can imagine, and it is just a walk down a hallway from the main residential part of the community. You are free to do as much or as little as you want here, although there are many programs promoting physical and mental health opportunities that are designed to promote health and long life. The staff, referred to here as 'The Team' are exceptionally friendly and helpful. As new residents we are surprised at how quickly we felt at home here. One of the things we like is that the Querencia is not as large as the units we looked at in California and we have come to know a lot of the other residents here. We immediately became very happy with our choice and thouroughly look forward to spending many years in our new community.
