Plenty of cabinet space and drawers. The kitchen also has a large double stainless steel sink and faucet. The wall across from the kitchen has a large closet for storage and also a full size GE washing machine and dryer. The living room has plenty of room for a large recliner, a grandfather clock, a 65 inch Samsung TV and a large double door cabinet where I have my 27 inch iMac computer. Between the recliner and outside wall I also have a 36"x36" pedestal table, where I have a large hammered copper lamp with shade. The two walls forming the corner behind the recliner and grandfather clock, have two large glass windows covered by Venetian blinds. Moving through the lockable door into the bedroom there is room enough for a queen sized bed, and a three drawer cabinet with lamp. The outside wall has a large window covered with Venetian blinds. Sliding double doors lead into a closet with plenty of room for hanging shirts, and with shelves that hold baskets for socks, and underwear. Under the shelf on the right there is room for a large four drawer cabinet where I can store pajamas and a large collection of various shoes. A single sliding door leads into a spacious bathroom, complete with a shower, toilet, and lavatory. There are two spacious cabinets and drawers next to the shower. Another reason I picked this third floor apartment is that it is located next to the fire escape stairs. I never use the elevators because I like the exercise I get walking up and down the stairs. My apartment is also located at the very end of this wing of The Reserve apartment complex. Consequently I don't hear or see any of my neighbors. Thanks for your time and attention. From the activities, to the food, to the full time nurse on staff, to the overall love and affection she received, Arden Courts was exactly what we hoped it would be. And that has been true during 14 months of COVID19 restrictions and a once-in a lifetime winter storm that robbed most of the city of water and power for days. It is remarkable that the Watermark team was able to continue with so little disruption to residents. The current staff earn really high marks for both caring and skill at what they do - even in challenging circumstances. Crises notwithstanding, the Watermark seems to work hard to be a real home for residents on both the Assisted Living and Memory Care sides of the facility. The two program directors are tireless in thinking up an endless array of outings, celebrations, games, lectures and demonstrations for all interests and abilities (e.g. pub night, mystery dinner theater, Jamaican Independence Day with a steel band, Dancing with the Stars, fishing excursion, Lake Austin boat trip to see the eagles and Senior Games athletic competition at UT). There is a lot available every day, but no one is obliged to participate. Shopping and dining outings were scheduled weekly before COVID and there are frequent special events where family and friends are welcome, including live music Happy Hour every Friday. Our loved one was in Memory Care and we have been thrilled to find that it is also about active living and learning and fun! No one is pushed, simply invited to join in at whatever level they can. Our sister was up, dressed and busy every day with games, exercises, and creating things. Moving into Elan/Watermark, after living alone, turned out to be a wonderful life changer. It gave her an instant set of friends, things to do and a reason to get up and stay awake every day. I would go so far as to say they have treated our family like family. Cora in admissions worked with us to explain the finances and answer all questions. She's stepped back in when finances became tighter. Amber, the Executive Director has always shown us kindness and compassion and gone to bat for our family. The maintenance staff got Grandpa's TV working a few times so he could continue to watch his baseball. They then moved Grandpa's hospital bed over to Grandma's room and set it up for us when he passed. Sandra, the director of the Memory Care Unit is such a loving leader to the residents and her staff. The Christmas party for residents, staff and family was so generous and fun. It's so hard to not be able to see Grandma in person because of COVID-19 and it makes it even more important to know that the staff in the memory care unit treats Grandma as if she were their own Grandma. I thank the Lord that we found them.

Also, the Grove employs their own "Nursing Staff" who can attend to residents when there is a fall, skin tear, etc. The resident does not have to go to the doctor or an ER to get checked out. The nursing staff comes to see the resident in their apartment. The Grove is centrally located in Austin and has several restaurants within walking distance of the community. The streets are well-lit, and the sidewalks are new and wide enough to accommodate individuals who use walkers or wheelchairs and there seems to be plenty of parking.
