Cheerful, kind, happy, engaging and caring. 3. Activities abound! There is always something for everyone including happy hour every day that often includes someone playing an instrument and singing. 4. Meals are healthy, delicious and varied. The dessert selection is my mom's favorite :] 5. Once a month (weather permitting) there's a party by the pool with a live band. The residents all enjoy this tremendously. 6. Movie night every night in their theater. 7. They have transportation that takes the residents anywhere from the grocery store to a doctor's appointment, if needed. 8. Housekeeping services weekly. The housekeeping staff is always thorough and timely. Should a change of schedule be necessary, the residents are notified right away. Overall it is like living on a cruise ship! I will end my review by saying my mom was NOT on board with this move when this journey began but less than 12 months later, she simply could not imagine her life anywhere else! She loves her new friends, she loves the sense of community, she loves the activities and she loves not being alone and bored all the time. This place is perfect for seniors! Truly life-changing!

But I don't believe we could have found a place that met our needs better than The Belmont at West Lake Hills. If I did, I'd move.

They have a load of activities that she goes to and I think that's going to keep her mind sharper much longer than if she was still living alone. She goes to Mahjong, exercise classes, live music and recitals, plus a lively happy hour each Friday. Most of the folks there are so vibrant, coming from all over the US and different countries. They also have "armchair astronomy" classes and various lectures. The staff are caring, pleasant, and helpful. Dawn and Ralph, the managers, do a great job. I'm so glad we found this place. Mom was hesitant to go live there and she recently told me how much better her life is now that she's with other people.

The Plaza, which is a part of the Querencia complex and provides just about all of the therapy, recovery care, skilled nursing, and late in life care we can imagine, and it is just a walk down a hallway from the main residential part of the community. You are free to do as much or as little as you want here, although there are many programs promoting physical and mental health opportunities that are designed to promote health and long life. The staff, referred to here as 'The Team' are exceptionally friendly and helpful. As new residents we are surprised at how quickly we felt at home here. One of the things we like is that the Querencia is not as large as the units we looked at in California and we have come to know a lot of the other residents here. We immediately became very happy with our choice and thouroughly look forward to spending many years in our new community.

What concerned me most, however, were the subtle but unmistakable racial undertones in the interactions--particularly in the difference between how I was treated compared to the other guest.

Watermark's management since 2019 has brought consistent, high quality leadership and practices to…read morethe facility. And that has been true during 14 months of COVID19 restrictions and a once-in a lifetime winter storm that robbed most of the city of water and power for days. It is remarkable that the Watermark team was able to continue with so little disruption to residents. The current staff earn really high marks for both caring and skill at what they do - even in challenging circumstances. Crises notwithstanding, the Watermark seems to work hard to be a real home for residents on both the Assisted Living and Memory Care sides of the facility. The two program directors are tireless in thinking up an endless array of outings, celebrations, games, lectures and demonstrations for all interests and abilities (e.g. pub night, mystery dinner theater, Jamaican Independence Day with a steel band, Dancing with the Stars, fishing excursion, Lake Austin boat trip to see the eagles and Senior Games athletic competition at UT). There is a lot available every day, but no one is obliged to participate. Shopping and dining outings were scheduled weekly before COVID and there are frequent special events where family and friends are welcome, including live music Happy Hour every Friday. Our loved one was in Memory Care and we have been thrilled to find that it is also about active living and learning and fun! No one is pushed, simply invited to join in at whatever level they can. Our sister was up, dressed and busy every day with games, exercises, and creating things. Moving into Elan/Watermark, after living alone, turned out to be a wonderful life changer. It gave her an instant set of friends, things to do and a reason to get up and stay awake every day. 12/30/2021- My father was transferred here after contracting covid 19 to quarantine. He arrived on…read morea Thursday afternoon. It wasn't until 18 hours later that I was able to get in touch with him. The staff never gave him his personal cell phone, nor did they answer their phones at the facility. Trying to get in touch with anyone there was impossible after MANY MANY attempts. When I did talk to someone I was told "everyone was off due to the holiday". It wasn't until receiving a text the following Monday 1/3/2022 asking to sign admission paperwork for the transfer, I did actually speak to someone for longer than 1 minute. At that time I asked for a update and strongly voice my frustrations. My reply in text was enough to actually receive a phone call from someone. At that time is where I voiced my concerns about the lack of administration, communication, and it being impossible to reach anyone there. Heaven forbid there be an emergency on my end, or on his. I'm almost certain I wouldn't be able to get through, or even receive a call if something happened to him. I will say after voicing my concerns things got slightly better. But that was still after multiple attempts. Today my dad returned back to his initial facility. Upon his arrival the nurses, and wound care did a full evaluation, and documentation on my dad. He has bruising all over both arms (possibly due to blood work, yet he has a picc line), a fungal infection under his arm pits, and groin area, they noticed what looked to be bed sores on his back, bottom, and heels of his feet from not transitioning him, or offloading his weight during his stay. He literally was in bed and the same position for 10 days straight from the sounds of the report I got this evening 1/10/2022. The wound care he was receiving from an amputation was larger upon his return, than it was when he left only ten days earlier. Due to being a covid patient, I was unable to visit, and relied on him answering his phone to get any sort of updates. If your loved one doesn't have a cell phone, do NOT plan on any communication! Make sure it's plugged in and kept charging. AT ALL TIMES! PLEASE if you send a family member here, make sure to be there as much as you possibly can be!!! I'm sure if something did happen you'd never hear about it from anyone. From what I've experienced these last 10 days I wouldn't recommend having anyone stay at Legend Oaks North Austin. Maybe things would have been different if I was able to be there daily. But given him being covid positive no one was able to enter the 300 hall staff included, nor send me to the nurses station phone "because they don't have one in that hall". Keep researching!!!

It's not like home and he misses Mom so much but we are blessed to be close enough that he comes home every weekend. He is so fortunate to have family to visit him, and be very active in his life and care. Marbridge Villa employees love him so much. He calls home on his iPad so we get to visit daily. Marbridge keeps him busy, which sure beats sitting at home.

My brother was a resident at Marbridge for 48 years. He began as one of the most independent…read moreresidents in The Village, leaving in 2022 when he became more physically disabled due to medical issues. They provided a modern, clean living space, transportation to his work, cooking classes, supervised grocery shopping, and adults available at all times. In 2022 my brother moved to The Ranch as he could no longer physically navigate The Village campus. The Ranch staff loved on him, making the transition much easier. At this point, he fully transitioned to campus life, rather than a working world schedule. They provided an array of classes, with each resident having 3 classes per day. Staff filled in with special activities during class semester breaks. Finally, my brother had further medical issues and moved to The Villa, where there was more access to medical support and services. Once again, the staff had smart suggestions to help this transition and were always willing to work through any rough spots which might occur. Supports at the Villa included an on-site physical therapy team, around the clock nursing care, a PA on site full time, a dedicated doctor, a social worker, as well as daily planned activities. Marbridge was a life long blessing for both my brother and my family. Our experience has been that they provided a quality living environment with appropriate levels of care for all stages of life.
