I'm new to the neighborhood so I met up with some friends to watch the USA play in the World Cup. We sat on the patio which is really nice. They have a HUGE TV and the biggest shop fan I've ever seen, making it pleasant even in mid-June. The problem was that the place was packed and they had one server for the entire patio. He worked his butt off but he can only be in one place at a time. As a result we went 20-30 minutes waiting for more drinks, for our food order to be taken and for the check. I can promise you everyone out there would have drank twice as much if the service was adequate. They walked at least $20 on me alone. The food was lackluster and bland. I got queso and salsa because I figured they couldn't mess that up, but somehow they managed. The cheese is definitely straight out of a can and the salsa had zero kick. Utterly unimpressive. My friends' food was equally unappetizing and everybody left at least half on their plates. The next time we go (if we go back) we'll sit at the bar and probably won't bother ordering food. read more

I stopped by Austin Avenue after another spot I was going to was closed. It's a cool sports bar in Plano. It was moderately packed for a Thursday evening and has your typical sports bar ambiance. The drinks and food were moderately priced. The food is decent. It's a cool spot if you're in Plano and looking for a sports bar. The service is decent. Overall everything here is average. Here for the Eagles game, good atmosphere lots of tables and space. Food was not good, I got fried pickles that half were greasy and soggy,. Tried the fried tenders as well and those were decent. I ordered the Caesar salad and added chicken cause I wasn't thrilled with the tenders and pickles and assumed to play it safe.. I'm seriously gonna say one of the worst salads.....hardly any chicken, dressing was blah, and lettuce was watered down. Service was good though. Different waiters checked on me. read more

I've been to AA a few times, and while I've never been overly impressed, today actually started off much better than my previous visits--even though the poor server was handling the entire floor by himself. My husband and son played several rounds of pool while we enjoyed a snack and a few cocktails. After about an hour, a kind young blonde waitress came over and politely explained that my son was not allowed to play pool because the owner had instructed her to stop him. I completely understood and thanked her. Less than two minutes later, the woman claiming to be the owner stormed over and repeated that my son couldn't play. I told her, "Okay, just give me a minute." Her response was, "I don't have a minute. I'll lose my license," and she immediately started walking toward the pool table. I wasn't sure what she intended to do, but her approach was unnecessarily aggressive. I told her she didn't need to be rude and asked for my tab. Her counterpart came over as my husband asked for his money back, he exchanged dollars for additional quester to play pool. He was also rather short. As someone who has worked in the service industry for many years, I understand that rules have to be enforced. That wasn't the issue. The issue was her complete lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. There is a respectful, calm way to speak to customers without being condescending or demeaning. Based on this interaction, I'd honestly be surprised if she were actually the owner. If she is, she could benefit from treating customers with the same respect she expects from them. Again, by her overall appearance and demeanor I can guess she a GM at best. I'm not surprised by that reviews, rather surprised that people frequent this mediocre establishment. read more

Great place to watch sports! Lots of TVs. Service is good, but be patient on a busy game weekend. I loved the mini table speaker they provided so we could listen to our game while another larger group's game played on the overall speakers. Lots of options for food, 7/10 for bar food. The servers can be stretched thin when it's a packed house and you may have to flag them down so you should expect to be patient or would be wise to get everything ordered in one shot if/when possible. And don't wait until your beverage is almost done to think to get another one. Their wings and pretzels are good options for game day and if you don't really want a "meal" per se. However the price for the food is pretty affordable but I guess that's why it's mediocre food. You do not wanna come here for food if the place is PACKED. Very disappointing experience. I've been to this establishment many times and have never experienced anything like this. We stopped in for a quick drink and some food, but before we even had the chance to settle in, things immediately became chaotic with security. The moment we walked in, my brother-in-law was treated differently, and it was very clear it was based on his race. This happened without any cause--we had literally just entered the building. What makes this even more upsetting is that he works protecting this city and knows the law very well, yet none of that mattered. No one should be treated this way, especially when they are simply trying to enjoy time with family. If this is how random customers are treated at the door, I can't imagine how other situations are handled inside. This used to be one of my favorite places to go for karaoke, drinks, and a quick bite, but that has now been completely ruined. Had our FB draft today, been doing it here for 12 years or so. One of our league members is a regular here, so it's nice to always have a good spot to draft. The food is always good, but the service today wasn't quite as good. After we got our food, didn't see the server again. Had to track him down to even pay our bill. Fun night watching a Stars playoff win at Austin Avenue. First time here since the grand rebuild several years ago. This place is huge and has lots of TVs in every direction. Drinks are priced well, and service was frequent and prompt. My daughter even enjoyed some Saturday night karaoke. Peanut butter pie was just fair, but my daughter liked it. Server knew who I was so it was a friendly experience. But then we went inside and then it turned ugly within a matter of minutes. Then, we was told we can't go live because Austin Ave is privately owned but yet we see other races doing it without even being said about anything. I watched the Mavericks game yesterday here and it has a great atmosphere for sports and good food. I had their marinated chicken sandwich which was very good, and finished off with their apple tart dessert which was delicious (adding a scoop of vanilla is vital)! The servers are very cool, very nice, but the outside area doesn't get the service that it needs. I don't know if they were short yesterday or if that's a typical thing on their patio. Regardless I will go back again because I wave to try a couple other things off the menu and play some pool, overall a fun place to go! read more

Passed by and randomly decided to take a chance. Waitress was friendly but in a hurry. Never let us finish a sentence. It was a large area that was clean and had lots of tv's. Not crowded at the time we were there which was around 2. Nice selection of drinks and menu items. Wings were a little overcooked but still juicy. CFS was ok. Pretty sure it was frozen out of a box. I've been going here every Thursday after work for several months. Today was the first time I left because I was not asked what I wanted from the menu. I did get a beer because I was sitting in front of the beer taps so the bar tender couldn't miss me. He got me a beer and a menu. That was in the first 5 minutes and no one ever came back to take my order after that. I sat there for another 30 minutes watching various bar tenders passing me by without even a glance in my direction despite the menu sitting in front of me. There were only 6 people at this front bar but 4 of the people had bar tenders that hardly moved from their spot by these 4. Disappointed you bet because I like the food and atmosphere. read more
