Coffee stayed hot too, which is a minor miracle in most diners. Service was friendly without being in your face about it. Walked out of there well fed for under $20 solo, which in Austin these days is practically a steal. Is it the most life-changing breakfast you'll ever have? Nahhh... but that's not the point. The point is it's good, it's consistent, and it's exactly what you need when you're flying solo in a city that can't stop patting itself on the back. I'll be back next trip. That's the whole review.

Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers. The menu says it also comes with a side of roasted potatoes, but mine didn't come with that.
