I was never blessed by genetics and one of the things I inherited was very poor teeth.. I was told by one dentist that I would have full dentures top and bottom before I was 25... fortunately I moved out when I was 20 and found a wonderful dentist who took care of my teeth for many many years.. Since that time and several dentists later, the experiences weren't as good until I came to Aurora Modern Dentistry.. I'd had a very bad experience with a dentist after moving to this area 2 years ago and did not go back.. I live not far from what was once Buckingham Plaza and watched as they were building the new open air shopping center at Havana & Mississippi, anxiously awaiting the opening of Sprouts.. Not long ago, I noticed the new Dental Office and decided to take a chance and check them out.. And, I was so very glad I did.. The minute I walked in, I had a good feeling.. The staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and it was genuine. The initial exam was thorough, modern and professional.. Everything is computerized and there are computer monitors in every exam room so you can see what they've found and they go over and explain everything.. Since it had been 2 years, I was expecting the worst, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.. The worst was a tooth that needed a root canal and a new crown... This was the same tooth that brought me to the previous dentist 2 years earlier with a sinus infection that ended up not being properly treated.. My next visit back, I had that tooth taken care of... What amazed me was that they don't do "temporary" crowns and have you come back at a later date to have the permanent one seated.. Using a computer, they take exact images of your mouth and teeth and then via the computer, make your permanent crown right at the same appointment.. In less than 10 minutes, Dr. McCann was fitting the new tooth... And unlike any other crown I've ever had, this was a perfect fit as soon as it was in my mouth... No adjustments were needed and it felt as if it had always been there, if I didn't know better, I wouldn't have been able to tell it from a real tooth.. I'm not a good dental patient, and I have a deathly fear of needles, but everyone at Aurora Modern Dentistry made me feel very comfortable.. When I walked out of the office after my first visit, I felt very good, and after having had some major work done, I felt even more so.. As a former GM and VP for highly renowned Corporations in the Service Industries for 25 years, here is a Yelp Review I sent to Comenity Bank, the people Aurora Modern Dentistry push you through. Only now do I believe I was a victim of a fraudulent operation. How it ties into Aurora Modern Dentistry will make sense, once you read my experience in its entirety: These people (Comenity Bank) are loan sharks. I went to Aurora Modern Dentistry, in Aurora, CO with a chipped tooth from grinding my teeth at night, I just wanted a cap to smile again without being self conscious. They told me that they couldn't cap my tooth, they would have to pull every tooth out of my mouth and replace them with implants. Birds of a feather flock together. Aurora Modern Dentistry fitted me with a mouth piece that I could have picked up for $19.99 at Walgreens. That said they billed me $500-$600 I left w my chipped tooth and a shitty mouthpiece. Their partner Comenity Bank, I was making a $60 payment every month for 4 months and then I received a bill that was right back to square one as they added on a penalty as apparently in small print you have to pay by a certain date, or pay an exhorbitant penalty. After several months of duress they threatened me, my balance more than the bill for the shitty service I received at Aurora Modern Dentistry on South Havana St. in Aurora, CO. I relented and offered to pay the balance in 2 payments. Was told that was not an option. So my balance being zero, I receive a nastily worded letter saying they were lowering my credit w them to $300 lol they have balls. Hey Comenity Jerks, lower it to zero, I will never use anything with your name on it again lol nor will anyone I ever meet again. Aurora Modern Dentistry will get the same review. I only give you one star, as apparently 309 others. You have a One-Star rating. Your CEO should be fired. Loan Sharks and D-Bags as the cherry on top. i wrote this to Comenity Bank the Loan Sharks. Why not take a deposit and bill monthly like most ethical Drs do? They set me up with Loan Sharks and not even advising me on what I was signing. These people are as unethical as it gets. Where do I start!!! I walked in to this office on a whim last summer. We have finally settled down and it had been a few years since I saw a dentist. Had a really bad experience in Houston with a dentist and just hadn't wanted to deal with it. From the first minute you walk in the door, you are greeted by the staff, a happy staff makes you at once feel relaxed! And then you are escorted to your exam room by one of the most fantastic dental assistant. I have my faves, and you know who you are! Actually, I can honestly say, I love the whole group of people that work at this dentist! They explain everything to you so you understand. Katie McCann is this most awesome young lady I have met! She is someone that you can talk to and she listens and understand what you need and how to go about doing it. There are several things about this dentist you should know. She is constantly learning new techniques to make the procedures better. She teaches in her spare time. She shares her knowledge with ther staff and teaches them as she goes. I am so impressed by her and just love her to death! I too was overwhelmed by the first day in the office. It was full of x-rays, exams, then the cost of it all. WAY TOO MUCH INFORMATION! But then Kim comes along and explains line by line and it makes sense. I dreamed of having an implant done on my missing front tooth. Never thought in a million years we would be able to make it happen. With the help of Dr. McCann and Kim getting me hooked up with the various plans that would work for us...I have my new front tooth! This dentist office has only been in our lives for a short amount of time, but in that time, I have gotten my husband, who hadn't been to the dentist in almost 16yrs, to go in and see Dr. McCann! He has seen me come home after being in the dentist chair for 4 hours, happy and excited cause I just got to be with the folks at Aurora Modern Dentistry! I highly recommend you go to this dentist. WOW these folks were great. They are a new location that has been open only a few months, but are positioned well to become the areas most popular dentistry. I called in on Monday for an appointment to get a filling replaced and since it was not "painful" there was no need to rush. I was still offered, any day that worked for me and ended up settling on Thursday morning, around 7am. That's right, they have early hours and late hours so those of us who have obligations can get our appointments in without missing work. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist and business manager were welcoming and informative. As another reviewer wrote, the paperless systems is very efficient and easy to work with. I then met with the dental assistant who took possibly the most comprehensive, yet painless x-rays and pictures (no sharp plastic wedged in your mouth). I then was escorted to chair and offered a water while I waited. The dentist (Cory I believe) was in the room within in minutes and took a genuine interest in me the person, before his interest in me the patient. His manner was very welcoming and eased the typical fear or anxiousness associated with the dentist. We walked through my x-rays, 1 by 1 and he spoke plain english so that I could understand what was going on (not a lot of dental speak that means nothing to me). We discussed a treatment plan and then he began fixing my filling. The best part is that the business manager and the dentist were on the same page with what my insurance would cover, what my out of pocket costs would be, and my options, BEFORE they did anything. This allowed me to make informed decisions and was absolutely huge for me. I absolutely Love Dr, McCann, Dr Deedy-Lee and Tracy! From childhood I have been scared by dentist and was never e able to achieve numbness from nova-cane but forced to endure dental work anyway! As an adult I was never able to receive normal treatment and always had to go under IV sedation to receive any basic dental work witch was both timely an expensive! When My partner suggested I try AMD I was both scared and doubtful that I would be able to receive a doctor that was caring and compassionate to my very sensitive needs! Not only was I wrong in thinking this but was surprised at just how caring, compassionate and truly modern this place is! Tracy my hygienist was extremely thro with her assessment of my oral health and needs! She took the time and care to make sure I was comfortable and calm and explained everything she was doing! Excellent cleaning and my teeth are shiniest they've ever been. Dr McCann also took the time to display the same care and compassion! When it came time for the true scary stuff, she was very caring and understanding! She was not only beautiful but smart,quick and very light handed! I did three filling's and a root canal with crown! My partner also received a cleaning from Tracy and loved her and also a filling from Dr Deedy-Lee! Bottom line we will never go any wear else and will follow Dr McCann, Dr Deedy-Lee and Tracy until they retire! I will never let another dentist or practice touch my teeth as long as I live! Hello, just wanted to write the great experience I had today with dr. Katie McCann. For about 1 year I been avoiding going back to the dentist it was a nightmare just thinking about getting an extraction. Unfortunately I had an emergency visit today, I was in a terrible pain and I new that I finally had to get my wisdom teeth removed. I was really scared. But once I walked in to the dentist office everything changed, everybody was so nice and caring, I didn't have an appoiment but they told me they will see how bad was my teeth and they will go from there. They told me they were ready for an extraction, and that was a terrible moment for me, but they were so nice to me talking the whole entire time, keeping me relax and making sure that I was ok. Finally the moment came up. I couldn't believe that I didn't feel any needle pain and I was nummed. Dr katie Mccann is my HERO she is amazing, I didn't feel nothing my wisdom teeth was out. It was probably less than a minute and she was done. Not only there nice, they really care and they explain everything to you since time of appoiment, insurance charges, everything I left there thinking about my next appoiment and on my future amazing smile!!! I had waited too long to have a tooth taken care of and, of course, it had gotten to the point that the pain from toothache became unbearable. I was at work and called Aurora Modern Dentistry (I am a patient from previously). They were able to fit me in within an hour. Dr. McCann and her staff were wonderful! It was not a simple extraction: the tooth should have only one root but it had three, and 2 were fused. Due to the extent of the extraction, I needed a bone graft which resulted in stitches. It took about 2 hours from arriving to going home. The staff showed me EVERY aspect of the procedure, including the x-ray of the tooth with explanation of the reason for the complicated extraction. I had never used my health/dental plan and was unknowledgeable of exactly what was covered. There were NO surprises. They assisted in getting me approved for the credit plan and I left feeling financially relieved. The ONLY suggestion I have: Please instruct on your prescriptions that GENERIC alternatives are approved. My Vicodin prescription was pretty expensive at around $69.00 and I did not have time to contact the dentist to make the change. I want to thank Dr. McCann and her staff for the care and attention as well as making time for my Emergency visit! read more

I have had several caps done here and have more caps and 2 implants to do still. I love the facility and the technology and care given. The staff is all great! My favorites are Dr McCann she is the Picasso of crowns and gives the attention and care of an angel. I have a lot of medical problems including sjogrens and it is rare but she knows about it and is very patient and knowledgeable of my needs. Ravi and Meg are also incredible and sema is always so nice and takes care of my appts. Now I just had service for my cleaning I think her name was Tracy but regardless plz verify she was fantastic. I drive over 20 miles to this office because of the staff and service. Many thanks! This dentist Dr Mccan and the staff Ravi & Meg are outstanding. My dentist is the Picasso of teeth. She made my cap because the previous cap was too little and too dark. She redid this cap as my teeth are really white. She made it perfect!! I also have dry mouth so my teeth are high maintenance with complications and they treat me with kindness, are Knowledgeable and so skill full. I have also had to use their payment options. I can not begin to express how GREAT Dr McCann and her staff are. For many years I always hated going to the dentist because I always new it was going to a headache. Once I started going to Aurora Modern Dentistry I find myself wanting to go back to see them. Dr McCann has done a lot of work on my teeth and I LOVE what she does. Every time I go in there I leave with a great big smile on my face because I know the work that was done was superb. Every time I hear someone talk about needing a dentist or looking for a new Dentist I jump right in and tell them how GREAT Aurora Modern Dentistry is and how awesome Dr McCann and her entire staff are. Just yesterday I was there having a lot of work done on my front teeth and I was in the office for about 3.5hrs and The staff was always checking on me or making sure I was alright. When the work was all done my Smile was a Million time better. I absolutely LOVE going to Dr McCann at Aurora Modern Dentistry. How many people can say that about a dentist? When I entered Aurora Modern Dentistry I hadn't slept in two days. Not because I had an urgent Dental problem But because my disabled had one and we hadn't slept due to the intense pain she was suffering from. I was so worried and tired almost every word uttered was filled with sarcasm and thinly veiled irritation. Yes, i was even slightly abusing in my tone and demeanor. The lady at the desk was instantly a ray of sunshine. she handled me with a tallent rarely seen in customer service. Then there was a problem with our insurance and not only did the staff present no less than three alternatives; they were affordable without insurance. the doctor was gentle in his examination and kind. It turned out she had to have her extraction performed by an oral surgeon. To my amazement they wrote a referral to a surgeon made copies of her x-rays and didn't even charge us for the exam. I'm changing our insurance to cover Aurora Modern dentistry and going there for life. I would highly recommend them to friends family and even children. In the end We were left with only a good taste in out mouths. read more

I have been in the field of Dentistry for over 40 years and have had the pleasure of training thousands of dental assistants in the Denver area. I have also worked in several excelent dental practices over this time frame and with many great Dentists. I had chosen Dr. McCann due several of my alumni saying she was fantastic!.They were so right. I was having severe headaches and face pain due to my poor bite. Dr. McCann put me into a bite plate called I think Mago?? Then she prepared me for 12 crowns to stabalize my bite!!! I am almost complelety pain free after years of suffering with head and neck pain. Being an instructor for a dental assisting program and having 3 of my past graduates provide me with such excellent patient care made me litterally cry at my appoint to complete my care. I never thought I would be rid of such pain in my jaws, my TMJ was a mess. This is my all-time favorite dental practice! I have had multiple dental visits with both Dr. Gao and Dr. Sui and each time I have experienced the highest quality of service and expertise from each doctor. Their level of competence, bedside manners, and kindness is unsurpassed. Both have treated me with such kindness and caring that I truly feel as if I am part of their family. Having been to many dentists over my 62 years, I have never been treated as well as with this dental practice. Futhermore, Christina and Bobbie in their front office are equally as kind, helpful and knowledgeable as any medical staff I have ever encountered. Having been an office manager at my wife's OB/GYN medical practice for many years, I can say without qualification, that both Christina and Bobbi are more knowledgeable and efficient than any other staff I have ever encountered. I was in need of finding a new dentist since my dentist of several years retired and a co-worker recommended Aurora Modern Dentistry to me since her experience had been so good. In all honesty, I was extremely anxietal about this process because I new I had some problems to deal with. I had bounced around seeing a few different dentists in the past few years to take care of toothaches that I just couldn't put off anymore. I found none that I wanted to stay with long term until now. I am extremely pleased with Dr. McCamm and her entire staff at this office. They are extremely friendly and efficient and have been very accomodating with my not so flexible schedule. Dr. McCamm is very skillled and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable with her immediately. I moved to Colorado a little more than 2.5 years ago from Maryland where my family still resides. Because I was new to the area, I was still using my east coast dentist when I went home for family visits. As you can imagine, it is not very convenient to wait for dentistry on family visits. Then I found Aurora Modern Dentistry. The staff is very kind, informative, and knowledgeable. Ravi is funny and patient, and Sima always has a warm greeting. For years, I have dealt with one of my front teeth being darker. I have tried several things with minimal results. I was under the impression this color difference was there to stay. Under the guidance and direction of Dr. McCann, I finally understood the problem and my options. In the last month, I have seen more progress and improvement than ever before. My initial visit had me skeptical because, as usual, they pushed treatment on me. I told them I would think about it and did my own research. After calling some other places and semi-convincing myself (I haven't been to a dentist in a while) I went ahead with the treatment plan. The hygienist is very thorough and I'm quite satisfied with her work. The dentist seems a bit rushed but is honest. Office is tidy, equipment is new, staff are standard friendly. My only complaint, as another review has mentioned before, is that they 'appear' to want to push treatment on you, with the electronic consent pads in every room. I know pretty much every dentist I've visited have pushed treatment but the pads make it seem like it's their goal from the start. I've been there for about about a year now and they haven't suggested anything new since my initial visit. More importantly, my teeth are probably in the best condition they have ever been. read more

I am so scared of dentist..this place put all my worries to rest. 1st, i thought my insurance was active, it wasn't. Lady working the front desk named ria, she told me "dont worry about that. We are going to figure it out and take care of you" went out her way several times during my stay to try to figure out a plan for me,that means alot to someone who suffers from anxiety . then the oral sedation dr came and took a look and she didnt evem hesitate, she made me so comfortable because she to had teeth issues once upon a time so she knew my struggle!!! I felt so good leaving there! They called me again today just to see how i was. I went to a dentist before them and paid in cash and they barely said bye. Modern Denistry of Aurora is so Amazing and Awesome they truely care about their patients and are so kind. Dr. MCCann is such an angel and so good at her dental work she is so sweet and caring I just love going to get my work done with them. She worked on my special needs son who is Autistic and did a phenomenal and tremendous job on his teeth she treated him so well and went over and beyond. Michelle Townsend is amazing as well she organized everything and was so kind to me and my son. They made me and him feel so special. My mouth was on fire, and no one would help me.... The out of know where Dr. Katie McCann from Aurora Modern Dentistry should up and saved the day! The Dr. and her staff were very professional, honest and caring. I was there from 7am till 3pm in the afternoon because of all the work that had to be done to save my teeth. The Doc gave me a granola bar 1/2 way through the day because she heard my stomach rumbling! All the Dental Assistance were very knowledgeable, and I didn't feel uncomfortable in the slightest. I will ALWAYS seek them whenever I need any dental work; they did such a great job I don't think I will need there services any time soon.... I will take care of my teeth from now on!
