HOLY CANNOLI!!!! If you love Italian desserts like I do,…read morethen you must make a stop at Scola's Italian Cookies. As a Sicilian woman who grew up with the real deal (Nonni's kitchen), I am very particular about sweets--and Scola's delivers. First of all, the cookies are authentic, not overly sweet, and full of flavor. Each one has that perfect homemade texture--slightly soft in the center with just the right amount of chew. You can taste the quality ingredients: pure butter, real citrus zest, almonds, and sometimes a little anise that brings you right back to Nonna's Sunday table. Their variety is impressive. Whether it's classic amaretti, ricotta cookies, or something seasonal and creative, every bite is a delight. And if you love desserts that aren't sick-sweet but balanced, this place gets it. Not cloying, not fake--just honest, beautiful Italian cookies. The staff is friendly and proud of their treats, and the presentation makes everything look as good as it tastes, be sure to grab a loaf of bread!!

I too had a little sticker shock at first, but when I stopped to think what just sugar cost alone and that they are handmade with such care, they are very worth it. I happen to be hooked on the little fig cookies. (Although I have tried several other items. All good). But every time I have the fog cookie they are consistently delicious. No skimping on the fig. Icing glaze always perfect. So delicious. I wish I had a picture to post, but ai ate it too fast to photograph. I dont mess around.

I've seen some comments about the consommé not being salty enough... but let's be real: if you think that, you probably don't know what real Mexican food is supposed to taste like. The flavors here are spot on. I had the quesabirria tacos, and they are truly to die for--cheesy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The street tacos are also a solid choice if you want to try a few different things. But whatever you do, don't leave without dessert. There are so many amazing options, plus ice cream! I highly recommend the strawberries with Dubai chocolate--they are absolutely divine. I'm still dreaming about that rich pistachio and chocolate combo... seriously unforgettable. Can't wait to go back and try more. This place is the real deal!

The staff is also so friendly and welcoming. They have a lot of seating and it's very vibrant and cheerful, creating a great atmosphere for a quick treat or a full meal with friends and family. Of course I can't talk about this place without mentioning the ice cream. They have an incredible selection with all of my favorites, and it's always a highlight of my visit. And do yourself a favor and get the horchata! It is absolutely delicious and the perfect complement to anything on their menu.

The ambience is stylish and lively -- a little on the loud side when it gets busy, but still totally tolerable and honestly part of the energetic vibe that makes the place feel like a real KC social spot. Now let's talk food. We ordered the shrimp and grits, Korean beef tacos, and fries with aïoli -- and every single thing was delicious. The shrimp and grits were fantastic, rich and flavorful, and the creole garlic shrimp paired perfectly with the warm baguette they serve alongside it. That baguette was perfect for soaking up every last bite. The Korean beef tacos were packed with flavor -- a great balance of savory, a little sweet, and just the right amount of kick. And the fries with the aïoli? Crispy, addictive, and the perfect shareable starter for the table. Everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared. Add in great service and a buzzing atmosphere, and you've got a spot that's definitely worth putting into your Kansas City dining rotation. Four stars from this KC foodie -- I'll absolutely be back to explore more of the menu especially that oatmeal cream pie for dessert!!!

We were hoping to take advantage of happy hour but were told it was only in the bar area (didn't say that anywhere on the website). Oh well! We didn't get any alcohol because of this though. Our server/service was very slow. We had to ask for drink refills multiple times, only after we caught the attention of our server. She was very nice but slow and not a great server. There were a lot of large groups celebrating together so it was loud, especially the table next to us who had a guest that honestly was so loud it really tainted our experience. That's not really the restaurants fault though, other than the table being so close to theirs. We were talked in to ordering the cheddar biscuits. They were...fine. They didn't really taste cheesy, more just like normal biscuits. Good but nothing super special and we wish we would have either not go them or got a different appetizer. My husband got the pastrami and it was good. I got the Korean steak and noodle salad and it was pretty good but lacked a little something to make it truly memorable. I would say there's enough noodles to make it more of a cold noodle bowl than a salad, too. We would try it again. The menu is large with variety so there is something for everyone.
