Betty Ray's off of Antioch Road in Miriam

I've only been to this Betty Rae's twice, and both times were underwhelming. The first time was in the summer and there were a LOT of flies and fruit flies in the shop and around the ice cream. And the employees seemed pretty inexperienced and unsure how to build rapport with customers. That part was much the same this second time. I was there's for the special promotion "fill your Stanley cup with four dips for $10." It didn't seem like they had as good of an assortment and variety in the flavors as I'm used to seeing at the original store Brookside/Waldo, which was disappointing. It's been a while since I've been in the Brookside store but I don't remember the ice cream being as soft and melting as quickly as at the Miriam store. I probably won't return to this store even though it's on my way home, in part because it's more fun to feel like a welcome and valued customer. The employees weren't rude or anything like that...they just weren't engaging. And I was surprised they didn't have any idea why a promotion with Stanley cups was happening.

I stopped in with my toddler grandson to try this ice cream place for the first time. We were the only ones in the shop at the time. The service was good and friendly. The ice cream shop was clean and bright. I chose a kid size scoop for my toddler grandson of vanilla. I chose a double scoop for myself, one being salted caramel and the other being brown sugar pecan. The brown sugar pecan is absolutely addicting! The flavors were very good of all of the ice cream. We will definitely be back!

Food - good Service - good Ambiance - Ice cream place First time going to Betty rae's, actually in Prairie Village. Had to try the Goat Cheese, apricot and pecan flavor - tasty. Other flavors may bring me back. One shock to the system was that, with tax, one small scoop, in a cup (not a cone or waffle cone etc/no sprinkles etc) = $5 Maybe this be inflation etc but 5 bucks for a scoop?!?! I may need to see what Freddy's has to offer...lol

THE BEST ICE CREAM. If you have not experienced Betty Rae's you are certainly missing out. A favorite for my wife and I, we were elated to find out about the new location closer to our home in Shawnee (she cried). This location serves as a test kitchen to try out new flavors, though I was happy to see some of their classic flavors are at this location as well. S'mores is probably my favorite flavor, but you've gotta try the Joe's BBQ flavor. It's a trip. The space is fairly small and you may experience a long line given the new excitement since the 7/11 opening, just a heads up. Worth the wait!

Finally! The best ice cream in town is only 5 minutes away from our house. I cannot tell you how excited I was when I saw the sign went up. Been patiently waiting for opening day. On opening day, we came by, not once but TWICE! The line wrapped around the building so we decided to wait for the busiest to slow down a bit. We finally came by again today. And it did not disappoint! We got to sample some tasty ice cream. Finally settled with goat cheese & apricot & butter pecan. Heaveeeennnnn.... Cannot wait til our next visit!

New location alert !! My son and I visited this location on the grand opening day ! I grabbed my normal flavor selections, but was shocked to see a "Joe's BBQ" burnt end flavor . It's a great choice for someone who really loves the taste of BBQ. The inside is small with no seating outdoors . But even with the long line the service was great and wait time wasn't bad .

This is supposedly a single scoop, less than what typically would be a kiddie scoop.

We picked up ice cream this evening to take home. We were appalled at the size of a single scoop for the price. The single scoop given was less than what should be a kiddie scoop. When we went to eat the ice cream it had a ton of ice crystals and ice pieces in it. It was as though the ice cream was scraped right off the top of the ice cream that had been sitting for a while and melted and refrozen. We will not be returning. Have not had this experience at other locations. We tried calling to speak to a manager and no one answers the phone, nor is a voicemail set up.

This was after 3 small bites of ice cream

I was celebrating passing a certification for work so we thought we should have a treat. Also, my brother was in town so it seemed a good time. I've never had ice cream like this before. They literally make it right in front of you. After you order your flavor, they pour liquid in a bowl and use a stand mixer and liquid nitrogen to prepare the ice cream fresh while you wait. There are no additives or preservatives, and it tastes amazing! The family who owns the place is very kind and willing to walk you through the menu and the process. They also have a bubble tea and some other treats for you to enjoy. They offer board games for adults and children. It's a very comfortable and homey place. When I arrived I was told my order was lost because there was an issue with their printer running out of paper. Not ideal for a call in order, but these things happen. I found a chair in this small, but quant restaurant and waited maybe 10-12 minutes. They called my name and I was greeted by the manager. He explained the situation and was kind enough to comp the drinks. More than fair exchange and I left pleased with the service. Now, when I tell you these burgers were fantastic I truly mean they were fantastic. Great flavor. Fresh ingredients. The onions were sweet and juicy. The tomato flavor stood out instead of getting lost in the mix. Everything stayed in place when you took a bite instead of squirting out of the toasted bun like a lot of wet, greasy burgers have a tendency to do. Only wish they offered a peanut butter option, but I know that's not a normal topping for most joints. We went with the choice of onion rings. These had to be the crunchiest things I've had in some time. You could tell they were fresh because of the crunch and the bold onion flavor. Batter wasn't overly sweet. Simply enhanced the onion with a satisfying crunch that complimented the tasty burger. We'll be coming here a lot more. Great service! Fantastic food with a fair price point. If I had a gripe it would be a few more options on the menu, but that's it. Support this restaurant! They're doing things right and giving value back to your money by offering fresh flavors and respectable service.

Saying that, to say, we had dessert before we had dinner, but we had a great experience at Clementines. The line was literally wrapped completely around inside the store, so when you walk in, you have to go all the way to the other end and turn around to get to the back of the line. They were popular last night, but they moved quickly. They took care of us, and there were no issues. The line did not stop growing. Even when we left, it was the same thing, but again, staff members took great care of us. They offered samples for everything that was there, and they gave us great recommendations. They were quick, they were knowledgeable, and they were pleasant, making the experience seamless. I'll speak to what I ended up actually ordering, which was the ooey gooey butter cake that they have in the cooler. It was about $15. It caught my attention while I was standing in line, so I went ahead and ordered that. I did have a small piece of it last night after I got home. Definitely amazing flavor. I will be going back to get one of the small tubs of ice cream to put it on top, like one of the staff members recommended. That was a 5 out of 5 My wife ended up getting the red velvet waffle cone with the salted caramel cookies and cream single scoop. It was definitely amazing. I like the crunch of the waffle cone, and it had good flavor to it. The salted caramel cookies and cream was true to its name. It had good flavor. I'm not a big dairy person, but it did not mess with my stomach, which I highly appreciate. It was more than enough for us to share, especially since we ran the risk of spoiling our appetite for dinner, but it was amazing, really good. I will be going back to get the midnight pleasure, which is a triple dark chocolate ice cream. They have, for the lack of a better word, a black ice cream cone, so I'll be going back to do that. I sampled several flavors. The gooey butter cake, the midnight pleasures, the Salted caramel cookies and cream all of them tasted great. I liked the fact that they had kosher options and non-dairy options as well. If you haven't been here, you should definitely give it a try.

Then I tried hiding the pill in a pill pocket, Velveeta cheese, peanut butter, ham, scrambled eggs, roast beef, cheddar cheese, five or six different wet dog foods and American cheese to no avail.. I was trying to find Limburger cheese figuring the strong smell might mask the odor of the pill. Then someone mentioned compounding her medicine into a liquid at special pharmacy. I looked up one relatively close to me and found Georgetown. I was skeptical as to how my dog would react to a liquid. The pharmacist said he could add either a beef or chicken flavor plus a little bit of sweetness and showed me how to fill the syringe. At home my dog gobbled her kidney food and her medication down and begged for more! I was estatic. The pharmacist also suggested buying a larger size than what my vet prescribed to save money. He contacted my vet for a new prescription. I am so thankful I found Georgetown. They are kind and so helpful.

But it is a fully functioning soda fountain with milkshakes, malts, ice cream, floats and the whole works. The malt I had was undermixed and underwhelming. The cheeseburger was awful: a frozen patty cooked by a teenager on a gas grill outside the entrance. Foodwise there is not much to choose from but there are a ton of drinks as well as Broadway cafe coffee. The atmosphere is weird, really nothing like a true old school soda fountain. This is not the kind of strange place that is even remotely charming. I'm giving them two stars simply because they are a soda fountain and have some beverages that are not readily available. But it would be much much better if they just lost the food and concentrated on good ice cream and soda fountain fare.
