    Filet

Our experience at Auld Alliance was exceptional. From the food to the service it was a 5 star experience. My wife I travel extensively and have dined at the top restaurants in many major cities, but this hidden gem in the middle of nowhere lived up to them all and exceeded most. We started with the lobster bisque. My wife had the filet which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had the bone in Ribeye which was debatably the best steak I've had. Perfect cook and the quality of the actual meat was extremely high. We had the broccolini and rumbledethumps as sides. The later was a standout for sure. Samantha provided wonderful service and the ambience can't be beat. A must visit for sure!

For appetizers, we had the Spicy Feta Dip with warm, soft bread, and Fried Mushrooms topped with White Truffle Oil and served with Horseradish Sauce. Absolutely amazing!!!! For my entrée, I went with their signature dish... the Slash and Burn Catfish. WOW... crazy good! Great flavor and fried to perfection. You actually use a spoon to scrape the meat off the fish. This is a must-have dish! Others in our group that weren't feeling as adventurous enjoyed the Chicken Piccata, Grilled Shrimp, Sautéed Triggerfish, and steak, all were excellent. Pro tip: Save room for dessert!! We got the Strawberry Shortcake, which is a MUST HAVE, and the Amaretto Brownie, which was pretty great too! The service was amazing and very attentive throughout the meal. So, if you live in the Chattanooga area or are just visiting, what are you waiting for? This is a must-try place!

From there, we moved to our table and ordered two appetizers: the Burrata with tomatoes and the Rajas. Both were so fresh and flavorful -- the perfect way to start our meal. For our main courses, we enjoyed the filet with grilled shrimp (cooked to perfection!) and the fried shrimp, which were lightly battered and perfectly crisp. The grilled broccoli and fried okra were both fresh, hot, and full of flavor -- true standouts on their own. To top it all off, we finished with the amaretto brownie -- it had a crisp outer layer, a warm, rich chocolatey center, and was beautifully paired with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Just divine! A special shoutout to Michael, our bartender, who sent us glasses of port as an aperitif to enjoy with dessert -- such a thoughtful and classy touch. The service, food, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Even though it's an hour drive from where we live, this will absolutely become one of our regular spots. Highly recommend -- everything was amazing!

The bar itself was pretty cool. Several demarcated sections focusing on certain spirits...so it was well organized and aesthetically pleasing as well. The food was quite unique. After all, I don't think I've ever had Scottish cuisine, though my understanding is that the menu can deviate from purebred Scottish. The vegetarian flatbread was not at all what I had imagined...instead of a pizza, it was more like a deconstructed bread with dip and beets that we'd assemble together. The cheese dumpling was awesome, as was the cheese/onion tart (note: small portion given the price). We also really liked the strawberry salad. Mushrooms are not my favorite, so I didn't love that dish, but to each his own.

I didn't love that the waiter kept touching my shoulder. They also seemed to forget about us after we ordered- our drinks didn't for almost half an hour, and our waiter had to come ask if we'd been served the amuse yet.
