a restaurant with a long table and chairs

August Moon is a very well-decorated place. We are impressed by its classy vibe and the whole restaurant looks very clean. Food and service are both decent. The only reason for giving it four stars instead of five is its price--I find it a little pricy. My Stone Bibimbap is $18-it's mainly rice with a little bit meat and vegetables on top; my husband's chicken Katsu is $26; with one soda and tip, we walked out with a bill of $60. It's not overly expensive, but within this price range, there are many options for sure.

Dined here for lunch on the 14th of March, 2023. Parking: a private lot Atmosphere: open and bright with cool Asian figurines. Service: April was very helpful. Cocktail: cosmopolitan. It was good. Food: 1. Edemmame. You can't go wrong with these, so I enjoyed them. 2. A tuna roll, I think, with avocado. It was ok. The roll was falling apart, and that's never good. 3. Spring rolls. They were fried just right and crispy. I would have liked a dipping sauce. 4. A seafood combo bowl with shrimp and mussels and served in a bowl that came out sizzle hot like fajitas. I believe there was other seafood, but I can't remember. I wasn't a fan of how it came in that sizzling bowl because it made the rice a little hard. The flavor level was low. Overall, the experience was ok. I will come back to try something different.

Absolutely fantastic experience and food every single time. We ordered: Mandoo soup (no picture) Miso soup (no picture) Polar bear roll (no picture) Godzilla roll Seafood teriyaki Stone bowl bibimbap (seafood) Soon doo boo (vegan) Pork gui Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and I tried everything and it was all fantastic. The service is top notch and the restaurant is family owned and operated. If you're looking for authentic Korean food and high quality sushi outside of the city--this is your spot. Also, easy parking in the lot and a short distance from the norristown transportation center. Full bar including sake as well as a comfortable atmosphere.

Food was ok. Service was decent and the ambiance was good. The food was a little too pricey for what we got and the bibimbop was more rice than actual meat in it.

Everything is so fresh and good . Though I usually get the same thing everytime . Been coming here with my family for years now. Service is always great, and it's nice enough for a quiet date night .

Really enjoyed this place. I don't try much of Japanese restaurants but tried Octopus for the first time. The young octopus starter did not disappoint me. California roll sushi n sake was enjoyable too. The bibimbapp with so many sides like sushi, cucumber etc etc is my recommended choice of entree!!

We usually drive to inner city of Philly for Korean food but we found this place that is closer so we decided to try August Moon. Quiet location and parking space was a plus. Sushi was surprisingly good and our main dishes were pretty good except the side dishes. My fiancé was very happy with the food but I thought the side dishes felt like imitation of Korean dishes due to lack in flavors like fish sauce, garlic, and chili pepper. Also The rice that they served wasn't Japanese or Korean rice that are short grain with a sticky texture. I'm a sucker for noodle and rice so this matters to me haha. Overall experience was good though! Great location, good service, and good price. I would give them 5 starts if this was an Asian fusion restaurant instead of Korean restaurant.

August Moon is Korean and Japanese restaurant in the middle of Norristown area. We have been looking forward for this opening for about eight months. We finally went to the place a couple weeks ago. Every Saturday second week of the month, there is a jazz performance. The food is good considered it located outside the city, it's a little pricey and the mini appetizers that they usually bring before dinner didn't come out until closer when they bring our the food. Recommended : Dukbokki: Soft korean rice cakes tossed with beef & mushrooms in a spicy cream sauce. ($6) Stone Bowl Bibim Bap : hot stone bowl of rice topped with vegetables and a fried egg. choice of: chicken, beef, shrimp, pork, or vegetarian ( $15) Kalbi : marinated beef prime rib, grilled and served on a hot sizzling pan ($22) Doen Jang Jigae : tofu and seafood simmered in a soy based broth with vegetables ($15) The place is new and clean, service is 3 out of 4.

Plus the portions are very generous and the prices extremely reasonable. Be sure to grab a pancake, the gamtang or army stew, a classic dolsot bibimbap and a galbi. While the cooking is done in the kitchen, the galbi quality and flavoring cannot be beat - and the portion is quite generous especially given it is less than $30! The team here is absolutely wonderful and incredibly kind. We had 2 babies with us and they were welcoming, accommodating, and even helped to keep them entertained. It has been quite a number of years for me and I no longer live in the area but we will be back every time we come to visit my family. This is a true gem and you can see that this is a go-to for locals as the patrons are all on a first name basis with the team. If you are craving Korean, this needs to be your first stop!
