Excellent food and friendly service in a relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend this establishment to anyone

Great food. Great service. Hector (the owner) greeted us as soon as we sat down and made us feel welcome. We will be back for their brunch.

Really enjoyed our meal here last night. We had the Steak Tacos, Pozole, and a "Kid's Burrito" that was off-menu. The food was good, my only qualm was that there's not even a small kids section on the menu so the "kid's burrito" ended up costing adult prices. Overall we liked the service, drinks, and atmosphere. Plus Auggie is a local legend so it's a plus to dine here and simultaneously show support for him & his family too! read more

The food was excellent! Loved the soft tacos de Carne Asada. Looking forward to going back for the Sunday Brunch!

The food was delicious! I had a shrimp plate with rice and side vegetables. I have never eaten broccoli / asparagus before that I enjoyed. The restaurant was designed by Jeff Shelton , local architect , with quirky designs. Location is right off pedestrian walkway of State Street. Definitely a find! read more

Dinner at Augie's was hands down the highlight of our weekend. Our waitress, Charlotte, was amazing--engaged, helpful, and genuinely cared about our experience. When we weren't sure what to drink, she brought the bartender Pasquel, over, and he completely elevated the night. You could feel his passion for what he does and the experience he creates. The food was incredible, the drinks were next level, and the service made it all come together. We left already wanting to come back. Beyond Highly recommend. read more

Love this place. We stopped for a drink and the bar did not dissappoint. We had drinks called La nina with blanco tequila that were great with detailed preparation. The ambiance is nice indoor/outdoor with live mariachi band. We had some happy hour chicken nachos that were excellent. The service was great! Highly recommend! read more

Been here three times now, first time experience was everything and more. We sat at the bar during happy hour and their drinks are amazing, the best. I have yet to try more of their entree dishes. There's so much to look up at including their wide variety of liquors and top quality ingredients that you can see and taste. read more

Beware if you're Black. We waited 15 minutes to be seated, although the people in front of us were seated within minutes. I asked twice if someone was going to come to seat us and was ignored. When they finally came, they tried to seat us at a table in the full sun, although the patio was only half full. When we asked if we could be moved to a table in the shade, we were told that they would have to check, and that that would take ten minutes. We took the hint and left. The staff looked like cowboys and bikers, and sorry to stereotype but I don't think they like Black people. They didn't look at us and they barely spoke to us. We couldn't think of any other reason they would treat us so differently and so poorly. We could be wrong, but either way, terrible service and we won't be going back. read more

Pains me to write this review. We will start with the good, their tequila and Mezcal selection is amazing. Top notch. The bad. Their sign in the front said brunch 10am-1pm. Showed up at 10:50am, they told us they won't be open til 11. No biggie. I originally wanted to try their molletes (a childhood favorite of mine). After placing my order, they inform me they don't have the bread to make them. Bummer. So I ask to see the menu again, and I order the enfrijoladas. When the enfrijoladas arrive, they not only arrive COLD but they don't have the shredded chicken. The enfrijoladas also lacked salt and I had to ask for different salasas to compensate the lack of flavor. Also, I asked for water to be refilled and never got it. Just a very disappointing experience. I am sad because I remember coming to auggies a few years ago and LOVED it. Hopefully this was just a one off experience. read more

Went to Augies on Sunday afternoon - great service and delicious food. We both had fajitas and guac with chips, would recommend. The owner was super personable. read more

If I could give it more than five stars, I would! What really struck me immediately on the first bite is how fresh my fish was. I ordered the pescado veracruzano, and my partner ordered the ceviche. All was so fresh and to die for (pictured enclosed). We even got a personal greeting table side from the owner and operations manager Hector. The service and food quality are sooooo top notch. Omg this place is soooooooo good! BEST MOLE ENCHILADAS EVER !!!! the sauce is decadent! When we first walked in, the staff wasn't super friendly and the service was a bit slow. However, none of that matters once the food comes out . I'm telling you, this spot is a MUST! My aunt says she's fly from MN just to eat here. The ambiance is a vibe during the dinner hours, with great music and even better drinks. The bar is super cute but also masculine. The bathrooms weren't so pleasant but again, the FOOD !!!! I was sooo hungry I didn't take too many pics of drinks or food. We ordered mole, rojo, and verde enchiladas . Mole was the BEST! We started w the steak nachos, bomb ! That's all I can say. The steak was grilled perfectly . To drink we had the Montego Bay Margarita and the basil margarita with a little extra spicy to it. Again, so good, they really can make an amazing cocktail . read more

Brunch at Augie's was Amazing!!!! This was our first time here for brunch and everything about our visit was great! From the moment we sat down to the moment we left the service was above the rest! The brunch menu was full of amazing choices. We started with the fresh chips and guacamole along with an array of delicious salsas. Hector and his team made recommendations and we had to try everything!!!! We were not disappointed with anything we ordered from the churro toast, to the El Salvador and the huevos jocoque!!! And we can't forget about the drink choices where we indulged in the margarita flight, Bloody Mary and marzipan martini! Thank you Augie's for one of the best brunch experiences we've had in a long time! read more

This was such a pleasant surprise. We are here visiting our daughters who live in Santa Barbara. We love a good, strong Marg and the Augies did not disappoint. The food was delicious, I actually appreciated the smaller more realistic portions. The service was lovely, and it seemed like they really cared. Hector came over and checked in with us at the end of the meal and we wanted to stay here longer so we splurged on the churros. read more

This dinner was SO GOOD! I had the steak and shrimp tacos (a la carte, for taco thursday) and they were both fabulous. I also had their house margarita, and it was also great. We sat right next to the palm tree in their outdoor section, and it was quite nice. Our server was very helpful in letting us know the specials and promptly getting orders in. The manager said this place is pretty new and we thought that was shocking considering how great everything was. Now, all that was great, but let me tell you the best part, THE CHURROS. GET THE CHURROS YOU WONT REGRET IT. They were absolutely a highlight of the night. If we were locals, we would 100% return. read more

We dined last night here and we had a wonderful experience. I convinced my party too order Mezcal flights. Only two of us did and one of us had a beer and the ladies ordered a shot of Mezcal each. Ugh... the ladies weren't necessarily impressed ( with Mezcal) so I had no problem finishing off there drinks. The guacamole and chips are outstanding. Our meals were delicious and well prepared. Stellar all-around. The greeter (he acted like the owner, but maybe he was just naturally friendly) immediately seated us and took time to make sure our part of 5 (always an awkward size) was accommodated. We dine in Santa Barbara just a few times each year, as we live about an hour away. Today was the first time we tried Augie's, and we will be back, for sure. The brunch menu was extensive, with plenty of choices for my vegetarian wife, our picky teen and me, the omnivore. I was excited to see dishes I hadn't seen since visiting Mexico City a few years ago. The Molletas and the Green Juice were perfect! We were treated with a smile and given a choice of tables, had prompt, patient, and friendly service, with some helpful recommendations, thanks, Juan! The outdoor covered dining area we chose was bright, not crowded, my family found the chairs notably comfortable. :-) Definitely a place to visit! read more

We were looking for a nice place out to eat while visiting and decided to try out Augie's. The service was incredible, and we got seated pretty fast, the food was really good and well plated and the vibes of the restaurant were well done. The music, outdoor seating with heaters, and decor of the place all came together really well. The food was priced pretty average but the service really sent it over the top. It was a friends birthday and they gave us a complimentary flan and sang with us so 10/10 experience. Will definitely be back! read more

My friend told me about this place so I was open to trying something new. It is very uniquely beautiful inside with an impressively massive bar. You can tell there is a huge investment in this place in which we quickly realized was reflected in the prices for food and drink. We were seated with only 2 other tables in the restaurant. Server was very kind, patient and helpful with menu navigation. We ordered 2 soups and the duck carnitas tacos. It took quite a bit of time to receive our food and everything was staggered, not served together. My friend never got his tacos and then he realized the table next door was given by his tacos by mistake. They quickly corrected the error and the manager came out to apologize (offered dessert, which was nice although we declined). We made friends with our neighbors which was a nice bonus to the experience. I was not overly impressed with the food as it did not reflect the pricing comparative to portion size. I would pay top dollar for food any day but the stand out flavor has to be there. I think this might be the wrong location for a Michelin attempt. I would come back for drinks as the bar was very inviting but that might be the extent of my visits here. read more

We read about this restaurant in the Westways magazine as the latest restaurant on state street. We came by for a brunch , which is not as popular as the dinner. But state street is super quiet on weekend days. 1- ambiance A friendly and welcoming decor. Neat artistic alcoves. Super friendly staff. This is a location that you want to dwell in 2- food Presentation is outstanding A nice level of spice. For those desiring more I'm sure you can heat it up. The huevos rancheros were fantastic. Came with A robust side of avocados. Green Chiliquelles - walking in I saw that this was the most popular dish. Not my style but the wife quite liked it 3- drink This is a well stocked bar! If you can think of it, it's probably here. Overall: oh yes!!! Artesian "south of the border" food. Great atmosphere. Fantastic presentation. read more

1. The whole package- I came here for brunch today and it was lovely. Chill music, chill people, excellent food, top-notch service. Thanks to the manager, Corina, Ethan, our server, and Nick. 2. We had the first mocha - they use their churro chocolate, which gave it a hint of smokiness. It's a dark chocolate with no dairy so it's good for vegans. Was absolutely lovely. 3. So appreciate that there is something for everyone. They are vegan options on the brunch dinner and happy hour. The cocktail list looks amazing. 4. I noticed some people were talking about the pricing - we just ate at Loquita four people for dinner a bottle of wine, one paella and some appetizers and a dessert and it was $450. So this place is on par for high end good food. Better pricing. 5. I had the vegan chiliquilles which they have with vegan cream queso. Thank you. They aim to have something for everyone. Love they are so Inclusive ! 6. Oat milk latte - I love that they are inclusive on this and they did not charge me for nondairy milk. Thank you so much. This is how it should be. 7. We're coming back in a week or two for dinner with friends. I'll give an update on that. 8. We were able to just walk on down on a Sunday morning and get right in for brunch. What a treat. The open air made it feel very safe with we enjoyed a bit of sunshine. Plenty of shared tables too. 9. Outdoor heaters for dinner. Yeah. Great decor. Give them a try. They're also going to maybe work on some specials for happy hour deals. So give them some grace as they sort out their opening Welcome to Santa Barbara Augies ! So happy to have you read more
