DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE!! They will totally lie to your face! We purchased a 2020 Limited Ford Explorer from here and while waiting for our bank, the salesman called my husband and said that if someone else's comes, in the meantime and wants this car they will have to sell it to them! Keep in mind, we test drove it on a Saturday evening and went to pick it up the next Friday. So a matter of 5 business days! Then when our loan went through and we went to buy it we paid an extra $1000 for ceramic coating which they did not do! when I got in the car, they didn't clean it! still dirty like it was when I test drove it. So when my husband went to clean it the next day and check everything he noticed the oil hadn't been changed, no windshield wiper fluid in it and two small dents in the hood. He said the paint felt Sandy on it too! So he asked if they would buff the paint, do an oil change and detail it, plus refund our money for ceramic coating. (since they lied and didn't do it!) They said "NO"! The salesman did offer to get the dents out, out of his own pocket but why should that come out of his pocket! The dealership obviously didn't want to sell the vehicle too bad or they would have done it all but they said that would compromise the price of the vehicle! So we returned the vehicle and our now waiting for our refund!! Because of course, they didn't have our check anymore! Which we notified them in the morning that we would be returning the car since they didn't want to make things right!! Oh and the girl told someone on the phone they do a 150 point inspection on every car!! Clearly they don't!! They didn't check anything on this one!! Major fail for this dealership!! read more

I have to say I'm happy with my new explore but not happy with this dealership, I went in and had my financing done with our credit union and TJ knew this but what the heck they ran my credit anyways and sent it to a butt load of banks and yes it did in fact dig my credit. Purchased a used Mercury Mountaineer from them. They told me the truck had new brakes when I bought it so why was I replacing brakes and rotors to the tune of $700 just 5 months after buying it?? When I contacted them about this, they denied telling me the brakes were new... like the salesman would remember me or my purchase 5 months later. It also had a squeel in the engine like a belt problem that was supposed to be fixed before I picked it up and surprisingly hadn't been!! My mother bought a car here and paid cash, gave her a 30 day warranty and she had issues within a week. Called them to fix what was wrong and they told her the car as is. My mother is in her 70's and on a fixed income. Still working so she can make ends meet. The repairs are $900 to $1200. They will not let you talk to a manager when you call. Awful services!!! Literally the worst service waiting area I have ever had to wait in. I assume a prison cell would be more comfortable. Cheap hard chairs, one very loud tv, no water, no coffee, and WAY to many air fresheners. The service clerks that check you in are great, but the three billing woman are the scum of customer service. Not only are they extremely rude, but they also act as though you're burdening them. It would be nice to have just an estimate of time and none of the women can tell you if the wait for my bill after my car was finished would be 1 minute or 1 hour. After nearly 3 months of numerous phone calls and e-mails we finally recieved all missing items that were promised at the time of sale. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Special Note: I was told on the phone by the salesman when we called, yet again asking what was going on with all the missing parts that were part of the sale, that the car goes through a multi-point inspection before it's put out for sale. There were so many things wrong (see list below) with this car that were COVERED 100% UNDER WARRANTY when my daughter drove it home that it's my opinion that it never went through these inspections before being put onto the lot. Spare key didn't work - Fiat's require special keys that have to be programmed A giant bubble on the paint between the windshield and the sunroof Passenger seat was broken and wouldn't fold up to allow a passenger in the back Trunk pull was missing - this was a big problem since my daughter is very tiny and couldn't reach it to close without jumping. Shelf in the back of the car had broken brackets and the shelf itself was completely gone. (not covered because the entire shelf was missing) NOT covered under warranty - HUGE rock chip on the windshiled in direct vision of the driver. There's NO WAY this would pass an inspection. We paid to have this fixed ourselves. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since she had driven over 2 hours each way to buy the car at this dealership it was extremely disheartening to have to beg for things to be made right, because it wasn't a close jot back to the dealership, and it took a post on Yelp and an e-mail to the president to bring any type of reconciliation to it. WE ourselves brought the car to a Fiat dealership to have all the warranty covered issues taken care of. An hour drive each way. I would suggest to anyone wanting to purchase a vehicle here to inspect it very closely. You may not be as lucky as we were to have so many of the things wrong still be under warranty. read more

They came up with a ridiculous explanation and wanted $150 to diagnose the problem. I received a letter for a airbag recall in June 2018, so I went to Auffenberg Ford in O fallon IL in September to ask if they know when parts might be available. The parts department told me they have not heard anything and they have no idea. I then went to the front desk and ask about a rental car which my recall letter says i'm entitle to. They told me that Ford has exhausted all of their rental cars and getting a rental car would not be possible. I then went home, called Fords customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Within five minutes they told me that the parts would be shipped out in October, and they gave me a case number for a rental car, telling me that a rental car is no problem. I would stay away from Auffenberg Ford. They'll give you no help at all, and smile and say have a nice day as you walk out the door. read more

Worked with Randy in sales and made offer on a 04 GMC 3500 diesel dually they have. Randy presented it to management and advised me this morning that the offer was accepted and I could buy the truck. Then his next statement went really bad - that they don't accept deposits on vehicles while it takes the buyer the 1 day to wire/courier them the major balance of the purchase price [it was a cash sale]. Further they advised the full amount has to be sent to them and while that is occurring they are free to sell to anyone else. HUH!?!?!? It gets worse as he then tells me that another buyer walked in on the same truck and will probably buy. HUH!?!?!? So it appears I have just been screwed over by this dealership on several levels. I have never had the experience of a dealer who wouldn't take a credit card deposit over the phone to hold a vehicle for 1 day til the buyer can get the major rest of the payment to them, when it is a cash sale. I have done this lots of times and was always allowed to do this as it makes perfect sense to protect both the buyer and the selling dealer. Also how is this supposed to work if I send them all the money for the purchase since they wont take a deposit to hold it and it takes 1 day for them to receive and in the meantime, according to them, they sell the vehicle. How do I get my money back? Would they keep it? I have also been screwed over when Randy added insult to injury to tell me they had someone in looking at it in person (as I was a buyer over the phone) who would probably buy and they had preference over me. I had dealt in good faith and presented an offer that was accepted by their sales management and told it was mine and I could purchase but it turns out they won't let me. We took my wife's vehicle in on Wednesday with the check engine light on they diagnosed the problem after having the car the entire day didn't call us back we had to call them and see what the status was and they said they needed to order a part and it would be in on Monday. They instructed us not to drive the car cause it wasn't safe so we left it there. Monday comes along I haven't heard a word from anybody all day left two messages no return phone call I had to drive up to the service department to find out the status of our vehicles. The guy there had no idea what was going on with our vehicle and said to call the service manager the next day. I couldn't even find the paperwork on our vehicle. Update: thankfully, the current management was able to finally resolve our issues! Aaron is definitely the guy to talk to if you need help. We very much appreciate it. I will say, on an individual basis everyone was polite and professional along the way which again, was much appreciated. The service department (especially Dakota and Justin) was absolutely awesome. The only issue with service was that it was hard to find a direct number to get in touch with them. Other than that, they were great. Customer service is definitely lacking. While everyone is very polite upfront (when you can actually get ahold of anyone by phone that is), don't expect any actual results if you have a problem. We have been trying for well over a year now to get the 2nd key fob that was supposed to come with our car at purchase. The salesman "couldn't find" the extra key at the time and promised to contact us within the next couple days. Needless to say, that never happened. I even spoke with the former site manager Mo, who I understand has now moved over to the auto mall, on different occasions and was promised a resolution to no avail. We brought the car in recently to address a factory recall and warranted extension and I asked about this ongoing problem with the missing key. Come to find out, there is no notation on our paperwork about it, no one with whom I spoke about the issue is currently working there, and we were basically told we are out of luck. I asked to speak with a manager, as much as I hate to be that person! And was told he wasn't in store currently but a very nice salesman named Kenny took my name and number and promised to have the manager call me. Unsurprisingly, no phone call. Now to compound our frustration, we were supposed to be able to pick the car up today or be given a rental if the repairs would take longer than a day. My husband just spent an hour trying to get ahold of the service department, which you would think would be a simple process but apparently not. When he finally just now spoke with someone (again, very polite and tried to be helpful) he was told the car is on the shop floor still and they were short handed because they'd had to let a couple mechanics go today?! But yet, no one thought to update anyone who was having their car serviced. We are a military couple who live in St. Louis and we certainly won't make the mistake again of doing business with any of the Auffenberg dealerships. At this point, I'll be happy to get our car back, as we somehow have to navigate with one car for an unknown period of time. I called Auffenberg Ford O'Fallon to have the OCR function enabled on my new 2017 Ford F250 Powerstroke (645 miles on it). I was told that this function could be enabled but because I did not purchase the truck from them there would be a $150 service charge. The dealer that I purchased the truck from had this '17 left over and is approximately 65 miles away. Had Auffenberg had the truck I may have bought it from them. Ford.com recommends this function be turned on for owners that do not have commutes long enough to perform a full regeneration of the Diesel Particulate Filter. I would give a negative rating if possible. Auffenberg Ford should take care of the product owners and not just people that purchase cars from them. I'm very disappointed with a recent customer service experience at Aufenberg Ford North, the integrity and respect were horrendous! I accompanied my daughter who was charged outrageous prices for a simple brake job, approximately $1,500! Of course, we had questions about these ridiculous prices, they had been giving my daughter the run around on the prices and when to expect her vehicle to be repaired! I asked to speak with a manager for better clarity Tory said he was the manager and would not afford me the opportunity to speak with anyone else!! As the conversation continued and he got tired of dodging questions, he asked the police officer whom my daughter called for assistance to escort us off the premises! When my daughter attempted to start her vehicle, it would not start and made some weird noises. Katy (service advisor) told my daughter in a nasty demeaning manner that her vehicle not starting had nothing to do with the repairs they did to her brakes. I brought this to the attention of Tory, and he sarcastically replied he would not jump the vehicle until the invoice was paid. How tactless! Social Media, Better Business Bureau, Ford Consumer Complaint Department, and Legal Council will all be made aware of this unfair treatment I experienced as a consumer. I have never experienced such a negative group of unfriendly people such as those in the service department at Aufenberg Ford North, 115 Regency Park, O'Fallon, IL. These people should be ashamed of themselves for representing this company that has been around for a very long time. Excellent customer service! The staff was extremely helpful when it came to informing me about my options and there wasn't any pressure to purchase a vehicle I didn't feel comfortable buying. I guess if I was being completely honest I can't really speak accurately to the integrity of every sales man, but Jerry Knoche was the gentleman who helped my fiancé and I find the car that best fit our needs and he was terrific. I haven't talked to anybody about buying a car without suggesting they go talk to Jerry first. If you're in the market for a new or used car (cause they have a looooad of used cars as well as new Fords) I would greatly recommend going to the folks at a.f. And in the words of a wise man, Ron Swanson: "my recommendation is an essential guarantee. Drink this. Now." But I'm not saying drink anything -- just take my word for it and go talk to Jerry. I recently purchased a car from the pre-owned section and found a couple things odd. I had to have a vehicle and I still got the car I wanted, but not at the amount and terms I was led to believe I would be getting online. Despite their "honesty policy" there was a $799 service fee you can't opt out of I was told, to get bi-yearly waxing of your car? Seems pretty steep to me, almost like they are using it to cover for other fee's they said they were being honest about including in the price of your car. Also, despite my and my co-signer's credit scores of both well over 700, I was told it was impossible for me to get a loan any longer than 3 1/2 years. Which I know isn't true and pushed me into more per month than I wanted for the car. The actual customer service I received and the car I received seemed to be fine otherwise and I was happy with the time they spent with me and the how the car is working out, but the policies coming from top down just seem dishonest. read more

Made my offer was told the offer was sent up to two managers and then the owner until it was excepted. I go through all the paperwork credit reports all that jazz finally I'm waiting on the paperwork to sign and finalize. Only to be told then there's a "hiccup"! OK then tell me that's the car I made an offer on what's the wrong car... And the Maths didn't even add up. So now they want to renegotiate. I ended up calling the owner he told me he has heard nothing about any of this. And then he tried to re-negotiate the deal they had already excepted. This is a very bait and switch he sort of place. I post this only as a warning to others beware there be monsters here. Do not trust a word they say. Very poor business practices. There's a circle of hell for people like this. In the end I found another dealership because I'm still waiting for the paperwork to come I guess they're playing the waiting game to see if I'll fold. But the new dealership honored the original offer. Do your research and just plain find another business to buy a car from. I was unhappy that the salesman was not willing to work with me on the sale. My car had a bill of $3500 for repair of a water pump at $200 per hour retail rate. I only asked for $500 more on our vehicle but salesman said no. I asked about fixing one item on the new car and he said they had plenty of new cars with no defects. The car sold to us was $1300 higher than the highest KBB average range for the car. The KBB value for our car fixed was $7000-$8000. we only received $1,000 for our 2014 Taurus with 159,000 miles on it. The salesman we are working with now said they will give us a second key and replace a weathered front cowl and we do appreciate that. The car does have a knock from the rear of the car when you turn but they said that they will look at when they replace the cowl piece. I hope the salesman is giving us the best deal that they can like they would for their own family member. read more

I was told that they did have the vehicle type in stock and that the offer was in fact good. I showed up at the dealership only to be shown a totally different vehicle and then be told that they do not have this type of truck in stock an that they do not carry that type of truck normally. So if they do not normally carry this type of truck "Which I have found at 4 other dealership in the area that do" then why would you tell me that you have 2 in stock. My husband and I stopped by to inquire about one of the new trucks on the lot. We entered the showroom, looked around for a salesperson to greet us, checked out a mustang on the showroom floor, browsed a truck pamphlet, looked around again for someone to help us and then left the showroom floor. During this time no one greeted us or approached us to help us or answer our questions. We walked out on the lot and spent several minutes checking out the truck we were interested in. Still no one from Auffenberg approached us. We left the dealership and my husband called them to inquire by phone. After calling three times only to be disconnected I called via an internet inquiry. I described our experience and the women who took my call apologized and stated she would have the manager call me. He called a short time later and I asked for pricing on the truck we were interested in. He asked me several questions about my qualifications for discounts or rebates and said he would call me back with the information. He didn't call me back. If it's this difficult to get information before the sale I will not be making a purchase from this dealership. After this review I did get a call back from the dealership following up on my previous call. I was transferred to Eric. He did get back to me the information I requested. This is the email that I just sent to reviews@auffenberg.com I purchased a 2011 Altima from Auffenberg Ford North just over three weeks ago. A friend and I drove 2 1\2 hours to see this car. During the test drive the three of us (Ken the salesman was with us) noticed that there was a shimmy when I braked and rubbing when we accelerated. Ken asked me to do it a few more times as maybe there was some rust on the brake pads. I did and nothing worked. So we took it back and Ken said they would fix that (as well as turn signal and the driver side door turn signal that didn't work). He said that they would get that up and worked on right away. Well it wasn't until a few hours later when all the papers were signed that they took it back to get it worked on. After it was finished, my friend and I drove it around and the rubbing was still there and the driver side mirror turn signal was not fixed. I mentioned the rubbing to Ken who said he would talk to his boss. He then came out and asked me to drive it around for a few days and if it was still rubbing that they would take care of it. I waited 4 or 5 days hoping it would go away and it didn't. Since then I have exchanged several emails and calls with Auffenberg. You are insisting that I drive the 2 1\2 hours using up my gas money, using up 10% of the warranty you gave me and take a day off of work, all to fix something that you did not fix right the first time. I work in customer service, and this is terrible service. Your team waited until the papers were signed to fix the car, then didn't even fix it right the first time. And now you want me to pay a LOT more to come down and give you guys another shot. Tell me, why should I have to pay for your mistakes? All that I ask is that you allow me to go to a dealership up here in Peoria to have this fixed. I understand it would cost you guys money, but that is what happens when you don't fix things right the first time. Please let me get this fixed up here. Thank you. read more

Stay away. First, St Claire County, IL charges a surtax on purchases in the county. That's a good reason not to buy a car in the county at all. Second, Auffenberg charged me for a warranty which, when I actually needed it, didn't exist in Ford's system. I had to pay out of pocket (fortunately it wasn't TOO expensive a repair). Third, even after multiple requests, I _still_ get emails encouraging me to come down and look at new cars. That will be the day. Went in and got the works package. I was initially impressed that they got me in so quickly and the person setting up the appointment was wonderful. The works package includes oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. I also needed the door handle replaced on my drivers side front interior. I also looked into the water seal around the cab if my truck since it was soaking wet after the last rain. I picked up my truck and was told weather seals wasn't their bag. I had to get the number to a specialist. When I asked the people behind the counter for the number, they all acted indignant because they were all huddled around talking, and ignoring me and I interrupted their conversation. After leaving, the next day I realized they DID NOT ROTATE MY TIRES. My drivers front rim has a lug with a very specific mark and there it was, still in the same spot. I won't be giving them my business ever again. It's a haul, but Marshall Ford in O'fallon, MO has the best, most polite, professional service department in the area out of the 5 I have frequented the last two years. read more

Terrible experience today. Went in at 9:30, due to tire pressure light being on. They check pressure, and one is down to 18 pounds (from 35 pounds). I inform the service manager that the light wasn't on last night. He walks up to my car and looks at the tire. Then they fill the tire he tells me to "keep an eye on it" and sends me away. I then spend the next 3 hrs trying to get someone to properly inspect my tire. Meineke saw me, found the hole in the sidewall right away. But didn't have a tire my size in stock. I go back to Auffenberg, but now it's 2:30 and their service dept is closed. This could have been taken care of this morning at Auffenberg (where I bought the car 6 months ago), had they checked out my tire like I asked. Worst service department I've ever experienced. Ordered a replacement key for my vehicle. Supposed to take 3 days to come in. 10 days later, I called to check on it. Had to be transferred to three different people before they realized it was in their possession for over a week. I scheduled a 15 minute appointment for them to program the key. They set the appointment for 12:00 pm. After over an hour of waiting, they tell me that they just started working on it because everyone was at lunch. Why give me an appointment during everyone's lunch??? Will not use Auffenberg for any maintenance or sales again. read more

We purchased a 2016 Focus Titanium from Auffenberg Ford, O'Fallon, IL at the beginning of 2017. My husband knew which car he wanted and had researched to find which dealers had the car on their lot. We met with Danny at Auffenberg at a pre-set time and date to look at the car. While there Danny mentioned that they had lost the keys to the car and went inside to try to find them. He came back with a key and we took the car for a test drive. We talked about the different features the car had and decided to buy it. After completing the paperwork, we were told there was only 1 key and we would have to come back so they could make a second key. An inconvenience since we live an hour away but we dealt with it. Once we got home however we noticed a lot of scratches inside the driver's door as if they had taken a wire clothes hanger to it to try to open the door. Then we started looking closer and found several small scratches in various locations on the car and a small dent on a fender. We also noticed that the headliner wasn't adhering properly around the sunroof on the driver's side. We called Danny and he said he would let us know when we could bring it back in to have it fixed. After a couple of weeks, we were able to get the car in for repairs (this is a brand new car). They had the car for 2 weeks and did supply a loaner car for us. The scratched area on the door and frame were repainted and the small dent was fixed. There remains a couple of small scratches and the headliner issue. Danny said the headliner was fine. It obviously is not fine as it is ¾" lower than the other side and you can press it up to the ceiling indicating it is not completely adhered. One of the features Danny had told my husband about prior to our purchasing the car was navigation. This is an important feature since my husband is a salesman and drives a lot. As it turns out there was no navigation on the car and we were told there was a chip that was coming out in a few weeks that would add that feature. Two salesmen and the IT person told us that was true but there would be a $100 fee for installation. Danny, our salesman said Auffenberg would waive the fee for us. We've made several phone calls to Auffenberg and keep getting put off. They keep telling us that Ford hasn't come out with the chip yet. Danny also told us the car was equipped with turn signal indicators on the outside mirrors which it is not. The last time we were at Auffenberg and spoke to Danny he stated they should have never sold the car in the condition it was in. He did NOT however offer to find a replacement for us and left us with no alternative options but to keep it. We are left with a brand new car that has had to have a dent fixed, repair and repaint on the door and frame, a key made, and after 3 trips we still have no navigation, the headliner is not adhered properly and there are still some small scratches on the vehicle. Three months after our purchase we got an email telling us there was a scheduled maintenance visit coming up. When we called to find out what it was for (hoping it was the navigation upgrade) they could not find any record of any schedule maintenance and more importantly had no record of having done any work to our car! My husband then spoke to the new manager who said Danny is no longer with Auffenberg Ford OFallon and he was so sorry for all we had been through and he would take care of everything for us...it's been six weeks and we've not heard back from him since. I do want to say that we love Ford products and feel they make the best cars out there. We feel that Auffenberg should have offered to find us another car or at the very least correct all the issues including the navigation. read more
