Contacted them on a Friday afternoon to see if they had a Rav 4 PHEV as nobody had them or any Rav 4.They confirmed they had one so I said I would be there in an hour. Met Phil who was assigned as my salesman and he was very helpful and not high pressure. Phil is way too busy selling a bunch of cars to be high pressure. Went and test drove it (nobody has a new one to even test drive), and liked it. Went back first thing on Saturday morning to buy. They offered a below sticker price and a high KBB trade in value for my trade in. Considering everyone else was selling inbound cars sight unseen or adding you to the waitlist for a Rav 4, I was pretty happy. Loving the plug in hybrid Rav 4 so far. My only complaint would be that Cody's (finance guy) demeanor immediately went cold the second that we wouldn't buy any of the extended warranties. Always the same story at every car dealer. I do not recommend this company, and I especially do not recommend working with Jim Allen. My son, who is currently serving in the United States Air Force Honor Guard and is stationed at Scott AFB, had his truck towed to this shop because it would crank but would not start. After diagnosing the vehicle, Jim informed him that the key fob's chip was no longer communicating with the truck's computer and that the key would need to be reprogrammed. He quoted my son approximately $650 for the repair, including fees and taxes. Concerned about the cost, we contacted CarMax, where the vehicle was purchased. They referred us to Metro Lock & Security, who stated they could perform the reprogramming for approximately $50 if we could get the truck to their location. I called Jim directly to verify the diagnosis. He again stated that the chip needed to be reprogrammed. However, once I mentioned that a locksmith had quoted a significantly lower price, his demeanor changed noticeably. From that point forward, I found his communication unprofessional, and my calls were repeatedly dismissed. We arranged for Angelo's Towing to transport the truck to Metro Lock & Security. During this process, I repeatedly attempted to pay the diagnostic fee before the tow occurred to avoid any issues. Unfortunately, I was met with delays and runaround responses. Angelo's Towing was so accommodating that they even offered to pay the diagnostic fee on my behalf and add it to my towing bill because I was coordinating everything remotely from Texas while my son was out of state performing military funeral honors in Indiana. In contrast, Angelo's Towing and Metro Lock & Security were professional, courteous, and helpful throughout the process. Unfortunately, my interactions with Jim and Megan were often rude and condescending. Once Metro Lock & Security received the truck, they quickly discovered that there was no chip inside the key fob at all. They explained that this was the reason the truck would not start. When they spoke with my son, he recalled changing the battery earlier that day and realized the chip may have accidentally fallen out. This raises an obvious question: if the chip was completely missing, how was the original diagnosis that the chip simply needed to be reprogrammed? Metro Lock & Security replaced the missing chip, programmed it successfully, and even provided my son with a military discount. The total cost was only $66, compared to the approximately $650 quote we received from Jim. I was originally quoted a diagnostic fee of $108.80, but when I was contacted for payment, the total had increased to $119.67. When I questioned the difference, I was simply told that the additional amount was for "shop fees." Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. We are extremely grateful to Angelo's Towing and Metro Lock & Security for their honesty, professionalism, and willingness to help a young servicemember when he needed it. read more

Bought a used 2018 Ford F-150 with 104,000 miles on it. The truck appeared to be in great shape and was spotless so it seemed to be well taken care of. I purchased a 4 year warranty (engine and transmission) since I've never owned a Ford. Within a few days of owning it the check engine light came on. Had AutoZone check the OBD code and got got the P-0430 (bad catalytic converter bank 2). The printout from AutoZone and O'Reilly's (FixFinder) both show this code to be a powertrain problem. Called Newbold and was told that this was not covered under my $3745 warranty. One of two things happened with this vehicle before I bought it, either the previous owner cleared the OBD code or the dealer did. In either case I feel as though Newbold, at the very least, should have offered to make the repairs at cost. I am now upside down $7,000 - $9,000 to get rid of the truck and $3550 to replace the catalytic converter and O2 sensors. I will never do business here again! read more

My mother is 80 years old and went here for a 90,000 mile service. She left with a repair estimate for $7,959 on her 2007 RAV4 which has only 87K miles on it. Kelly Blue Book is about $7,800. What really stood out to me was the comment about her tires. Dry rot and 7 years old. I inspected her tires and she has 4 Bridgestone tires in great shape. She probably puts less than 5K miles a year on her car. The service writer when asked about all the repairs told my Mom she shouldn't drive far. He also told her they could finance the repair bill. I'm thankful my Mom didn't pay the bill and left. Her car drives fine and her tires look great. This dealer apparently thought they would take advantage of an 80 year old woman by scaring her about her safety. What a disgrace! I have 3 Toyota's in my home and will never buy one or get service at this dealership. Your GM should be embarrassed. read more

This service department has gone down greatly in the past several months. I have had multiple vehicles in there for routine service as well as troubleshooting a couple of different ailments. One such occasion caused me to spend several hundred dollars more for a simple wire that I suggested could be the problem. I was told that this wire was inspected and not the problem. Well, when I got time to look, the wire was clearly the problem. Next, I took my wife's car in for routine brake service. After 2 months, the brakes continue to squeal. Its embarrassing! If only I could give them a half star or even zero. This place absolutely sucks. Went in for an oil change and inspection. They nickel and dime you here like crazy. Bro comes out with a list of things they said I needed to do that they noticed on inspection. I, being an absolute idiot at the time, just wanted to do what was best for my vehicle so told them they could do certain maintenance on it. Unbeknownst to me, They flushed my transmission without mentioning that was part of the xx-mile maintenance and like 2 weeks later, my transmission failed.. lost 3rd gear completely. This is rare in a Toyota with less than 100,000 miles. Then, I had my vehicle towed there, as they do not offer any kind of towing service, and they inspected my vehicle. Apparently, the inspection was done that day.. however, I did not hear anything back from them for multiple days. Having to contact them multiple times. Only like one person was in the office on the weekend or some weird thing like that.. idk I dropped it off on a Thursday and didn't hear anything back until Monday, only after trying to call them and figure out what was up multiple times. They then told me I'd need to replace the entire transmission and quoted me something like 8k dollars.. needless to say, I had someone else repair it for far cheaper. I will NEVER take my vehicle back there. I can see why so many people would rather take their Toyotas to more distant dealerships for maintenance. These people are not looking out for you or your vehicle. They are money hungry vultures. At least the desk guys.. idk about the actual mechanics.. I made an appointment for 2:30 pm, arrived with my car at 2:20 pm, and they still hadn't started the routine oil change when I went up to the counter and checked on it at 4:30 pm. I will have to find another place to get my auto maintenance done. This is not the first time I've brought my car for service and it was less than stellar. Don't do business with these guys!!! We live in Missouri and bought a brand new 2023 Toyota Corolla SE. The car had 3 miles on it we picked it up. We had the car 10 days drove it to South Dakota and back. It was all interstate driving. We followed three other vehicles which were our friends, all had different vehicles. Chevy, Ford, Etc. we got our car home washed the dirt off from our trip and noticed well over 30 rock chips on the front of the car. The rock chips were so bad, it looked like someone one sprayed a shotgun of pellets over the front of the car. We called the dealership and talked to a used car sales manager named Terry. We voiced our concern there might be a defect in the paint or a clear coat wasn't put on the car. He immediately dismissed my theory and said unfortunately without empathy and more of a smart unremorse response that were in the "wrong place at the wrong time." He did however tell us if we wanted to to bring it in and drive an hour to pay for it to be fixed they could set that appointment up for us. After spending 30,000 on a car this how we were treated. We will never do business with them. We called the corporate office. Opened a claim, called our local Toyota dealership in Toyota and the sales rep was more than happy to bring us in to look at the damage without dismissing our concern. I called Newbold Toyota parts for headphones for a Toyota entertainment system. Two months ago I had called and they had one in stock but I got busy and didn't go by. Yesterday called and the parts person said they were out of production and unable to order. I then called Ackerman Toyota and they got them in in less than a day. I understand that when you have to wait on a part, but when the repair is going to cost around $4000 and not providing a loaner car very unacceptable. They said they could cut me a deal of $40 dollars a day to rest a car, which would add another $1000 to $1500 on to the cost. Newbold Toyota avoided the Toyota Smarpath deal with arbitrary $5k demand AFTER all terms agreed to and credit app submitted. By the way, they verbally explained they wanted another $5k outside of what was in the Smartpath deal. I would have never entered into the Smartpath deal, and had them pull my credit, if the arbitrary $5k was in any of the "Pricing Details" document that I agreed to when I entered into the contract. The $5k came afterwards. If you're the kind of person who enjoys entering into an agreement, submitting credit, and then having the dealer inform you that they need an extra $5k over and above what you agreed to, then Newbold Toyota might be a good fit for you. read more

Our 2002 Toyota Sequoia was given to them without any issues on a Wednesday, for a routine service & balancing. 7 days later we finally get a return call from the writer "your sequoia is unsafe to drive, so we had ordered a part that arrived since Thursday-your sequoia's CONTROL ARM BOOT is TORN and the STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEEDS REPLACEMENT! It should be adding about $700 plus?" Newbold Toyota- now crooked and fleecing for money from honest US citizens. Part 2 post Service Manager inquiry 7/27/23 OMG! This place NEEDS TO BE AUDITED ASAP. UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE MANAGER(S) FAILURES In meeting w/ the Service Manager Taylor, whom failed to enter our sequoia info into her computer before any issues could be addressed- rather sarcastically asking " well how OLD IS YOUR VEHICLE?" Cont'd to demean us that our vehicle was too old that a RETIRED MASTER MECHANIC, had to be called for his expertise! YET when we asked to speak to this RETD Mechanic- she immediately REFUSED stating he's @ a Drs appt!. So what I heard is that Newbold Toyota was taking instructions from a nonpayrolled retired employee! Taylor blatantly lied AGAIN stating "we are still waiting for a part"" when her writer Mark previously told us "part was here since LAST Thursday!" When we requested documents of the problem Taylor refused! When we requested a visual of the sequoia's issues - Taylor again denied! TAYLOR WAS UTMOST UNPROFESSIONAL AND APPARENTLY DISCRIMINATORY. After being tangled in her deceit of lies she had to tell us to leave - leading me to escalate and report such SERVICE FAILURES. PART 3: ESCALATION TOYOTA GM Steve, returns a call but in conversation attempts to negotiate a fee! Stating he can "waive the labor, but not the cost of part!" Now requesting $400? So - if Service already knew that said part was ordered but FAILED to get our acknowledgment or agreement- and FAILED to give us documents addressing any issues prior to ordering- then Toyota already PREMEDITATED and PREMATURELY PLANNED THIS SCHEME! Just took our Toyota Highlander which we bought BRAND new in January 2021 and it is only December and we have had to jump battery numerous times!!! My husband took it to the service department and they did not do a thing to it. Told him we should drive it more or lock our doors every night so that it shuts everything off! My husband told service manager we park in a garage we shouldn't have to lock out doors every night so that our battery doesn't drain down. TERRIBLE SERVICE!! Appointments are a sham to make you think you will be taken in at the appointed" time. Me thinks not. Appointment for simple oil change and tire rotation was set for 10:15. I asked the consultant if my car will be taken in at the appointed time. He indicated that the techs were all busy with other car and that there are four people ahead of me waiting to get in for oil. This was at 10:05. So, at 12:10 TWO HOURS LATER my car was ready. If you take customers on a first come first served basis then don't give the false impression that those that called ahead have an appointed time for service. We were not happy with the service we received at Newbold Toyota recently. We had our Camry in to fix a recall item, an oil change and one other issue. They had to order a part which was okay but kept putting us off for a week saying that they were still waiting for the part. Come to find out when my husband picked up the car that the original part broke and they had to order another one. They never told us this the entire week that they had our vehicle and never once apologized for it taking so long or for inconveniencing us for a week without our vehicle. They refused to service my vehicle after giving me an appointment; having me pick up my car stating on the phone for me to take my car back to whoever repaired it in Chicago. My mom intervened because of the obvious safety issue driving four hundred miles with a broken passenger mirror. She was furious that our safety was not a concern to them. Frustrated On a Friday afternoon, three days after having dropped off my vehicle to have a factory recall frame protective coating applied, I went to pick up my vehicle only to find the black protectant substance that was applied to my frame dripping off onto the parking lot.  I asked the service team what was done to my frame and why it was still dripping wet.  I was told that a thick gel was applied to my frame so it couldn't be dripping and it just looked wet.  I walked out to the truck and let a drip fall onto my finger to show to the staff.  I was initially met with looks of disbelief that quickly turned to an explanation of "the weather is causing it, just don't wash it for 72 hours and it will be fine".  I expressed my concern about driving in its current condition (concerned that sand/rocks/leaves/etc. would become stuck to the frame) but the staff offered no alternative.   I then opened the door of my truck to find the interior covered with a white film. Since my vehicle's interior had just been detailed 4 days prior to dropping it off for this service, I asked the staff if the paperwork they had given me included a free interior detailing.  When I showed the service staff my vehicle's interior I was told that it must have been that way when I dropped it off because there was no way that they could have done it.  The only support they could offer in response to any of my concerns was that I could call the service manager on Monday.  They did not offer to take any action themselves.  I left frustrated and wrote a negative review. The next morning I received a notification from an individual within company leadership asking me to contact them.  I responded, highlighting my concerns (the status of my frame being most important) and attached a video of the debris which had already adhered to my frame.  Their response stated that the dealership would redo the frame coating and detail my vehicle; furthermore the service manager would contact me on Monday to set up the appointments. The call on Monday did happen, but the individual from the service department wanted to schedule a detailing only and had no knowledge of my frame issue.   I visited the service manager in person that afternoon (3 days after picking up my vehicle) to address the frame issue. Without offering to look at the vehicle he informed me that there was nothing unusual about my situation. In fact, I was informed that I would need to wait months for the frame to "cure". Additionally, I was told that it would take weeks before it could withstand more than light water spray.  Furthermore, the service manager stated that he was unaware of any commitments made to address the frame issue so would have to address with company leadership.   Two days later I received another e-mail from company leadership.  While that e-mail did offer to detail my interior, it questioned why I did not consider other sources for the white residue on the interior of my vehicle.  Specifically it attempted to blame the organization that completed my interior detailing 4 days prior to me dropping it off at Newbold Toyota.  Additionally, it stated that there had been an error in the earlier communication and they would only redo the frame spray if it was found to be improperly applied.  Finally it stated that they had requested a Toyota factory technical representative do a physical inspection of my vehicle.   My e-mail response explained how all other sources for the status of the interior had been ruled out.  This was based on the status of my interior when I dropped it off, the timeline between detailing and dropping it off and the fact that when I dropped my vehicle off the service technician immediately rolled down the windows in my vehicle.  As far as my frame was concerned, I requested the name/contact info/ticket number of the Toyota factory technical representative that would be contacting me.  His reply indicated that he did not have that information but did provide me with contact information for Toyota customer service if I wanted to initiate follow-on actions myself.   As it currently stands, I am minimizing use of my vehicle whenever possible to ensure that the frame does not pick up more debris than it already has.  I am obviously disappointed with the status of my vehicle and had I known the implications of this visit prior to dropping it off for service I would have never made the appointment. read more

I have a K&N filter in it and when I got home the filter wasn't even dirty. I don't think the Tech even checked it. It's a scam and I won't be going back. Beware!! read more

We are traveling across the USA from Vancouver, WA to the east coast, driving two-lane highways as much as possible. We purchased a new Toyota Highlander just in time for this trip, and as we approached St. Louis a notification popped up on my gauge face indicating immediate service required. As we were staying in O'Fallon, IL that evening, I searched the internet for a Toyota dealer nearby. I found Newbold, but the YELP reviews were not stellar and I considered going back into St. Louis, MO in the morning for the required service. I called Newbold at 7:30 am (service opening) and spoke with Shawn, explained my dilemma and he assured me that when I brought the vehicle in, they would get right on the service. We had a quick breakfast at the hotel, loaded up the Highlander and rolled into Newbold. I spoke to one of the writers and indicated that I had spoken earlier with Shawn, and he nodded to the person beside him who was helping another customer. He then told me to bring the Highlander into the service bay, and when I did, Shawn was there to meet me. He took my information, said the service was a normal 5000 mile service, and that they would have me out within the hour. My wife and I went to the waiting room, I pulled out my computer and was barely able to get it fired up when Shawn came in and said the service (included rotating tires, topping off fluids, and multi-point check) was completed, was free and we were free to continue our cross-country trek. I can't say enough good things about Shawn, and from my experience this dealership (service at least) is all about customer service. Thank you again, Shawn. read more

Lying must be a prerequisite for working at this place . I've never been more insulted at what they have put my bf through. We live out of state and my bf found a great SUV on their website. Photos looked good, he already had financing, and was ready to buy. He called up talked to some kid who very obviously never sold a car before and specifically asked him in more than one way the condition of the car. No dents, major scratches anything. This guy assured him everything looked perfect. Within a few days he sent the check to them for full asking price and arranged transport down to us. Before the truck was even off the transport bed we noticed a dent in the driver side door. (We have full video of this as it came off truck) then while the guy drove it down, major squeaking. After the guy had left, we get in to discover duct tape on door panel to match the leather ? No idea what that was about. Several water stains, tears in leather and these guys certainly never inspected this car. Just tonight 4 days later he's cleaned out about a pound of mulch in the passenger side door joint. Which if you didn't know can actually eat away at your car if left near important parts. So, not only was this guy caught lying at least twice to my bf. The Excellent condition truck that he paid full price for left a lot to be desired. This place is a joke and I cannot believe they're able to get away with treating people like this.
