Guitars and basses from G&L (tribute series), Indie (UK company, made in Indonesia), & Takamine. Amps from Line 6. They also carry drums and keyboards. They have a nice selection of used gear on consignment, too. My experience was that I sold an amp on consignment there. It sold in two days! The owners and staff are great to work with. Personal, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating -- never pushy or "arm-twisting" like some of the big box stores. They encourage their customers to try the products instead of locking them behind a counter so you can only look at them from afar. Besides providing lessons, they sponsor open mic nights and a weekly drum circle. They are building a wonder musician's community there -- how refreshing! Check 'em out!

When I called to complain, not only did they offer no help at all; but, became very judgmental in self-righteous indignation when I said a cuss word in my OWN home over the phone! They went so far as to threaten to not return to me my money for their recommended product. They do not like vets who show their frustrated anger in their own house in a way not approved of by Big Country Hardware, at least that's what their words & demeanor scream. I do not recommend this store to any vet...or their family. I'm honorably discharged from the Coast Guard, but not honorable enough for Big Country Hardware.

Record Guys helped calm my craving to dig recently…read more I hadn't been in a record shop since I left L.A. during the summer of 2022! This Abilene-based shop had two of the nicest guys - a father-son duo - working the front when I was there (11/21/2023). The dad pointed out the mural on the wall outside before I walked inside. Gave me some insight about the local artist who painted it. Inside you'll find mostly 33s, but there's more... to 45s to CDs to VHSs and tapes, posters, speakers, record players, memorabilia... Ya know, I didn't see much blues. That was the only pitfall for me. I was stoked when the dad, a former schoolteacher, mentioned the NEW Billy Idol Christmas record I snatched was really good. "He's a real crooner on this one..." And that's why I love record shops. Check out their Black Friday sale... I'm missing out some really good deals, but that's life.
