I took in for repairs my 60" 3D cinema LG tv. After talking on the phone with the LG Canada…read moretechnician and running numerous tests, i was told the tv needs only the back light replaced. Before taking it to the 999 Electronics shop y tv had a "black veil" i could see the picture behind it when i put a flashlight against the screen. It responded to absolutely all settings &b commands properly. The repair shop technician called me to say that the main board is damaged and that could be very expensive. when i said i want to go right then to see , he told me "is too busy and doesn't have time for me". I do not drive or have a car, i had to make arrangements with a neighbor to go at the shop the next day. When i got there and they turned on the TV the screen was a light grey with a 2" vertical line. THAT IS NOT HOW MY TV WAS WHEN I DROPPED IT THERE!!!! He just happened he mentioned a day before that he knows how expensive it ca be to fix it because he had THE EXACT SAME TV. At this point it is very hard to trust the motives why my tv is in worse condition than when i dropped it there. BEWARE. the "very expensive" board he was talking about costs $145.20 plus tax + shipping. However, after talking with another technician, looks like my tv now is beyond repair. So from Backlight needed to be replaced, i ended up with a good for garbage tv. It is frustrating and upsetting because they do not make them anymore. BEWARE

Both times have been effortless to deal with Geek Workshop; their prices are readily available on their website, and billed accordingly. - They emphasize on being environmentally-friendly and have various initiatives for doing so. It seems to be a husband and wife duo running the shop and they're certainly experienced with fixing phones. I was not the only customer at the either times I stopped in to fix my phone. If you need to repair your iPhone in Vancouver, my experience both times at Geek Workshop Vancouver has been stellar. ==== I came by Geek Workshop to pick up a secondary phone from Fedex and decided to try their iPhone repair services as well. For this instance, I waited in the store and they managed to replace the iPhone screen immediately. The repair was completed in under 30 minutes on the spot and the screen worked better than the screen I formerly had from a repair at JP Mobile in Richmond. JP Mobile screen worked reasonably well but the key strokes were not always accurate. The screen replaced at Geek Workshop worked like new and had accurate touch pad key stroke. They ensured to check and verify the functionality of everything before handing over the phone and then accepting payment (which they accept credit card). Everything about the interaction was effortless. The person at the front end was very friendly and knowledgeable. The work space in the back of the store was clean and properly appointed with various tools. (They even had some machine to the left enclosed in a plastic separation probably for other more complex repairs?) For the screen replacement, I was very happy with the outcome and extended the life of the phone a couple more weeks. ==== I also came by a second time for a different repair and it was equally efficient and effortless. I asked to prepay so I could go for a walk and pick up the phone when it's done. (Usually they insist you pay after it's repaired, but I knew there'd be no problem with their repairs.) When I came back less than 45 minutes later, the phone was all ready and working like new. They also were kind enough to give a free screen protector. (But evidently this may not be the norm... still their repair prices are probably on par or cheaper than most other iPhone repairs in Vancouver or Richmond.) ==== Overall, the experience with Geek Workshop has been very pleasant. - The price is clearly listed on their website so there's no variance and it's honest. (The prices are also VERY competitive (cheaper than JP Phone Repair in Richmond. They also do diagnostics if you need to find the problem with your phone.) - They have a dedicated and clean workspace to repair phones. I made a note of this so you don't need to worry about whether the workspace is dusty or not properly cleaned (such as food) when they open your phone. (In contrast, my repair at JP Phone Repair was honestly slightly haphazard work space; he was fixing my phone on the go while walking around the shop with a few things to manage. It worked out well ultimately, which is what matters, but having a clean workspace is important to avoid dust or debris getting inside your phones when it's open.) At Geek Workshop, one person seem to deal with customers, while another person does the phone repairs. - The phone repairs were always done quickly and without any incidents. They make sure to check your phone is fully functional before completing the repair or billing. - The couple are friendly and easy to deal with. Seems like an honest iPhone repair service; there are also no unscrupulous charges or surprises, in my experience at least. (In contrast, not exactly unscrupulous but at JP there wasn't any explicitly listed price-chart and they more or less quoted you various prices.)
