Always a good dynamic warmup followed by a single structured workout. I have traveled to many other gyms and many of them seem to lose the small gym crossfit camaraderie that ACF prides themselves on. There is no massive classes and impersonal coaching going on here. So, after Stuart telling me a few times that I should give Fit Force a try, I caved in and went. I have loved it ever since. To start; The classes are held outdoors, in a shady area, at a park in Auburn. The classes being outdoors is really nice, especially if you, like me, are cramped inside an office all day. The classes start with a warm up session that gets your heart rate up: (When I went to my first class I swore that the warm up was a full fledged cardio activity... guess I wasn't in top notch shape) After the warm up period, Ashlie introduces you to the circuits for the day. The bootcamp is broken down into different circuits or segments that target the different areas of the body. Sometimes Ashlie incorporates games or team activities, just to mix it up a bit. During the circuits you are constantly moving, so its a great mix of cardio and weight training. All of the classes end with a stretching/cool down period, which is really nice, especially after grueling it out for an hour. The day following a bootcamp I always feel sore, which means that I must have been doing something right. i guarantee that if you come to bootcamp and commit yourself to the exercises and push yourself, you will see results. You will by physically stronger, your body will transform, and you will mentally have so much more energy. On top of all of the benefits, the owners really are just great people. They care, they communicate, and they know what they're doing.

Ginger and all the excellent coaches provide alternative exercises if you have mobility issues. So much of CrossFit is about mobility, and not necessarily strength. So when I found an ad in the newspaper for this place offering a free tour of the facility, I made an appointment. First impression: They were friendly and informative without being "salesy." I was offered some printed matter that disclosed all the different pricing options and how their programs work. So I made an appointment to meet with a personal trainer. Second impression: My goal was to find out if they were serious about training or just trying to sell me the program. My evaluation and background check of fitness past and current was thorough and complete and not once was I sold anything. Once the appointment was complete, I signed up for a 3 month commitment to myself. Conclusion: I've been going now for 1.5 months and my work with Lauren has been nothing but positive and slightly amazing. Not only is she working with my quirky body and it's limits, but she's empowering me to use my own equipment at home to continue there when I can't get in to use the facilities at ProActive. I look forward to workouts, even when I dread them, because I know I'm going to learn something new about what my body cannot do at this time and learn how to work toward gaining that strength or range of motion in the not-too-far-off future. I attended a single class that was available and the teacher stumbled her way through it. The classes expire in 30 days so what you are not able to use, you lose. I tried to mention my frustrations to the front desk and her recommendation was to buy a more expensive package w more classes?!?!? I am very disappointed!!
