Several years ago, I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a towing company. I parked my AWD Mercedes at a restaurant in Auburn while I went inside to order food with a friend. While we were inside, we heard my car alarm and looked outside to see my car being towed down the road. Because it was being towed with only the front wheels off the ground, the rear tires were sliding sideways instead of rolling. Both rear tires were destroyed during the tow. We immediately drove to AET Towing and actually arrived BEFORE my car did. We explained that my vehicle had just been taken and that it had been towed while I was a paying customer at the restaurant. I later spoke with the restaurant manager, who told me they had not called for my vehicle to be towed. AET understands the law requires the commercial business to CALL for a specific vehicle to tow but instead acts like sharks illegally patrolling. The tow itself caused catastrophic damage to my AWD Mercedes. It was towed sideways with tires not spinning but instead dragging down the road while the car alarm went off. An AWD Mercedes simply cannot be towed by only the front wheels. The differential was destroyed, an axle was bent, the starter became misaligned, and the vehicle, which had only around 50,000 miles, was ultimately considered a total loss and totaled. Instead of receiving any help, I was charged for the tow and then charged storage fees for the two weeks the car sat in their lot because it was no longer drivable. I had to hire a different towing company to get it out of their lot as they refused. They also towed other cars blocking it in within their gated lot to cost me several extra days of storage fees. When I tried to discuss the situation with the staff, I was met with profanity, told to leave, and threatened with trespassing rather than having my concerns addressed. I also attempted to seek help afterward but was unable to get anywhere with the local authorities or attorneys I contacted. It seems they have friends in town who support these activities. This experience cost me my vehicle and thousands of dollars, and I never received any compensation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend AET Towing to anyone. read more

Me and my friend were going out and get lunch at Chick-fil-A downtown Auburn and we came back. His truck was towed. We weren't there for an hour or two and there. They said we needed a valid parking pass. Why would you need a valid parking pass for a restaurant. What if there are a coworker that works at that restaurant? read more

Evil towing company that's only in business because it preys on college kids. They'll tow your car from your own home.

Towed me from my own parking lot with my parking pass on. immediately rude to me on the phone when I asked questions. They are so unbelievably mean and disrespectful, not to mention money hungry. Easily the worst business in auburn. read more

A company that makes verbal and physical threats to college kids should be put out of business. I am livid about how my child was spoken to. Did she have a parking pass? Yes. Was it expired? Well, that can't be confirmed since it says 2026...and it is indeed 2026. Ironic that her boyfriend was also towed? Nah. Predatory towing to rake in the cash at the college students' expense on the first day of school. Horrible company. Wretched people...I'm looking at you BW. How about you act your age, sir. read more

Towed while moving into apartment at the grove. no info on how to get my car back ........

Don't eat here and walk across the street to go to the bank, you will get booted and they will not be helpful. Ordered food at 2:03, went across the street to chase bank around 2:15-220 pm to deposit 1 check, and was back before 230. $20 of food gets maybe 15 minutes of un-harassed patronage. Parking lot was empty, there wasn't an immediate need for parking, just unadulterated greed & kickbacks between auburn express and Guthrie's downtown. These are the people that make society the worst read more

Got towed from parking garage even though I had all parking passes for car. Questioned them why I was towed and said I shouldn't be paying. They got a attitude immediately, started cussing me out, getting all up in my face like they were gonna do something, said he wanted to "knock me out" and when I leave one of the employees tried to follow me home in his own car. Just some people who really need the $125 tow fee read more

Gone for 4 minutes and towed. Empty parking lot and no reason to tow. From out of town visiting my college daughter.

Predatory tow company. Rude upon pickup. Made me walk a long way to the impound yard when they took a golf cart. Towed as a resident from my own spot at the Ōliv. Shame on the Ōliv for employing them. read more

READ THE REVIEWS, DO NOT BOTHER TO CALL THEM. I'm genuinely curious how a predatory business like this is still able to provide service to people. Having to wait 2+ hours, then charged $220 after a mere 5-6 mile trip is asinine. The BBB, city of auburn, and Alabama state regulatory affairs will have a field day with this "business" read more

ZERO STARS IF I COULD! This towing company in Auburn is widely known for its predatory practices. A true money grab! They are ruthless when towing and incredibly rude to customers retrieving their vehicles. read more

My vehicle was towed from my own apartment complex despite having a valid parking pass displayed and my car tag properly registered. The tow occurred at approximately 8 a.m, not during later hours of the night, which raised serious concerns about the tow. When i went in to retrieve my vehicle, I was required to sign a release form stating that my car was undamaged before I was even allowed to inspect it. Additionally, the staff refused to review or acknowledge evidence showing that my parking pass was clearly visible at the time of the tow. This experience makes me believe there is questionable business practices, and it appears that the company may be unfairly targeting college residents, as i know many people who have had similar experiences. With the upcoming holiday season, I'm concerned that these practices may continue or worsen. I strongly believe this situation, and many others, should attract the attention of the local community to get further investigations going. If I could leave no stars I would. This is absolutely insane and needs to be stopped. read more

If your car has been towed in Auburn then this is the place. Super shady and will tow even if you have a valid parking pass.

these guys don't have a single brain between them. they started towing my car as I was sitting inside the restaurant eating, came out made sure they knew I was in there and they said "sorry already up" ended up having to go down there and pay them, then went into the restraunt and made them pay for the tow. mainly the big African American tower, as he has rocks rolling around in his head. read more

Quite possibly the most unprofessional, rude, and backwards management from a company I've ever delt with. It's a miracle that whoever answers the phone hasn't driven their business into the ground or gotten some kind of report from the government. They provide absolutely zero value to the community and the price for holding a car for no more than 2 hours is comparable to those who price gouge during natural disasters. read more

I made a Yelp account for this. My car was parked in a guest parking, 24 hour spot. If I could give zero stars I would. Towed from a parking lot that had two cars in it. Capacity was 20. This company has no other purpose than to torment and overcharge struggling students. This place takes advantage of people. A couple weeks ago I got towed out of my own parking spot!!! I had 2 tags in my car and they only looked for the one and decided to tow me at my own house. If they would've taken 2 seconds to actually look they would've seen my parking tag... also.. don't expect to get your money back. The place I live at declined to pay for my parking ticket even after evidence of me having the tag in my car. The towing company had no interest in what I had to say. What a racket! They are charging students $125 for towing. My daughter clearly had her parking sticker on her car and they told us, "well I guess the tow truck driver didn't see it."
