One can't get that attention at a big box store, even if the aisles are wide. That said, there are better stores for some items, but knowing where to shop for what is a customer's responsibility. I really like the convenience, friendly staff and good quality of merchandise at Cooks, and highly recommend them - no reservations at all if you plan your shopping intelligently.

First step in, I love it! Tons of people helping customers find what they are looking for. As soon as I walked in someone asked if they could help me with anything, and they quickly made my keys for me. I spent time picking out key covers and carabiners. I'm so glad someone told me about this place. It's much closer than driving to other larger stores and they had plenty of stuff! I also can't say enough good things about every one who works here.

I've been going to this store for many years off and on. If I'm doing a project and need a tool or…read moresoil quickly, because it's the closest one to my home. When I go in, I ask where something I need is located in the store and all I want is to just go make a decision and get in and out as quickly as possible. Usually a man/clerk will tag only and mansplain and second guess my choice, or ask me how I know what I need. Basically saying things that are extremely outdated and sexist. I've gone in and watched how male shoppers are treated and it's a whole different thing. If you bring it to the cashiers attention in hopes she will let management know and make a change that fits with this decade, you hear, they're just trying to be gentlemen, hun. If you're a woman that is capable and isn't a damsel in distress, you shouldn't go there. It's an absurd and incredibly upsetting experience.

I spoke to an awesome woman who's name is Marie, she could give me calculations on everything that I asked! I was boggled! She is exceptional!! Very impressive. I gave her whacked minimum measures & Marie was able to help me with every single inquiry including phenomenal suggestions. Marie is a find! She's one of the few of very few employees who offers up exceptional critique, how to & what options were available etc etc!! I hope she makes bank! She's worth the big bucks. I call with so little information, she spoke to me for nearly 30 minutes without an iota of hesitation. She knew exactly "what to" in the department of carpentry including stove/refrigerator sizes. Marie is Home Depots best of the best. She's a wicked strong employee. She's likely a manager or in construction if not she is well versed & worth her "weight in gold!!" Marie exceeds.. she's patient, professional, kind, great sense of humor, & she knows exactly what's up without fail. Marie is one amazing lady!! Home Depot needs to recognize a rarity like Marie & give her $$cudo$$. I was in construction many moons ago & wouldn't be able to respond with any type information as she did. Marie is what I call an Exceptional Super Pro! I've been to the best of the best in stores i.e. paints, fabrics, whatever high-end! Marie could go anywhere & work wherever she desires.
