I wanted to make sure the money went to the museum and not to Amazon. This is a beautiful museum, and the customer service was amazing. Art Attack Founded…read morein 1997 by local artist, Patti Jacquemain, to promote local art that features nature, and more specifically, art that celebrates California's diverse wildlife and ecosystems. Formerly known as The Wildling Museum of Art, it was rebranded in '24 to make its mission clearer to the public. The Good: * Located in the heart of Downtown Solvang, which is one of our favorite places. * It's a non-profit institution. * Private parking lot in the back, which is important because parking in Downtown Solvang can be a nightmare at times. * Friendly staff * Relatively inexpensive at $7/GA; $5 seniors and teens (13-17); and free for kids 12 and under. * Gift shop * To be honest, our main reason for visiting was to continue our quest to visit as many of Thomas Dambo's Troll sculptures, and this quaint little museum houses one of the giants right inside--Lulu! She's definitely worth the price of admission alone. :) * The rest of the art was great to look at, as well. They do sell some of the pieces that are being displayed, so keep an eye out for price tags if you happen to see one you really, really like. The Meh: * Not the biggest museum, as you can pretty much see the whole thing in less than thirty minutes. The Ugly: * If you can't score parking in the small lot, you'll have to fight for it on the street which can be a hit-or-miss scenario. There is a free lot about a quarter-mile away, if you don't mind walking. Conclusion: Come for the troll, but stay for the art.

Just know that this place is often very full of inventory and crowds so it can get tough to walk around & shop. It won't be a casual shopping experience. Especially on weekends and summers. I came here mainly because I heard it was a great place to get old Lego minifigure bags. However, I was not expecting some of the older ones to go for up to $30 a bag! That's highway robbery. You can find opened ones online for a fraction of that price and when you do that, there's no need to guess if you are getting the one you want (or be surprised at all by what you're paying for). If you're looking for bags to keep sealed, this is a great option for you, but for someone like me who was just looking to get one or two to complete a series, this just wasn't priced right enough for me to pull the trigger. I did, however, purchase a single mini figure that's exclusive to a Danish store chain. Was it overpriced? Yeah. But not too high that I didn't feel like treating myself. Staff is very friendly and I saw them happily helping customers all throughout the shop. Customer service is great here. So rest assured if you have questions about inventory or if you want to try on something, there will be someone here to help you out quickly.

It was epic to witness. I've only ever seen items like this at the Getty. This is definitely a place you have to check out and plan to purchase from. I believe the pricing is fair because these are antiques that are made from scratch-- I mean everything is hand crafted. When you see something this nice, you would never want anyone to have a duplicate of it. It's so classy and the staff were incredibly kind. I believe this place is family-run, and it shows in how thoughtfully it's maintained. It felt inclusive and welcoming. Appointments are highly recommended, and this is not a space for children. I noticed they allow calm, well-behaved pets on leash or harness for private parties, which I appreciated. I first visited at 7 AM when they were closed just to admire the exterior, then came back around 12:30 PM to take it all in with better light. I fell in love with so many pieces and will absolutely be back once I have a home closer up north. This store is timeless beauty preserved and presented at its finest.

We could literally hear her hurried foot steps coming towards us as soon as the other customers walked out (who were white). She also wasn't following them around the store. We did feel that this was discriminatory behavior and another similar yelp review proves it. It wasn't surprising to us since this had happened to us multiple times throughout the day in various shops around the area. Racism and discrimination seem to be a common theme in Solvang which is insane that there's still people like this. Must be the oldies with the same mindset that haven't died out yet. Oh and if the lady working here is so concerned with photography inside the gallery, you must not be doing your job correctly since pictures still ended up here on yelp meaning there were photos taken inside the gallery. Next time you want to tell a patron the rules of the store make sure customers of other races are being told the same, and be polite about it. Also there's a difference between taking photos and taking a video of me and my family reacting to the art. Not everyone steals someone else's artwork just because they recorded inside the gallery. Even if we were to purchase something, your condescending tone and you following us the way you did into the Disney gallery made us walk right out. And given what I've heard about Thomas Kinkade recently, I have no interest in purchasing his work. If you do choose to visit here - do NOT have your phone out for any reason unless you want to be stalked and scolded like a child by the raggedy old lady working here.
