I don't remember the name of the shop sales clerk but he was very chatty, friendly and entertaining at the same time. I couldn't believe how many puzzles were in the shop. They also sell paintings and puzzle boards to keep your puzzles intact. Just take a peek. It's a nice gallery.

We first encountered his gallery about a decade ago, when we bought our first small print, what we could afford at the time. A year later, we got another piece. We hadn't been to Solvang in some time, but went this past year and bought our first big canvas print from him. He gave us a small discount on a small print our kiddo became enamored with as we were looking around. For the quality of art and prints, this gallery is wonderful. It was all so Lulu! Positively!…read more We came here specifically to meet Lulu Hyggelig Troll. She came to live here in Feb. 2025. Lulu loved the Danish Pastries so much she grew and grew. She lived in the tower and one day she couldn't fit through the tower door, so she was trapped inside here had to stay at the California Nature Art Museum. She's the first Dambo Troll to reside in CA permanently. Lulu is indeed living in the tower, the Michele Kuelbs Tower Gallery. In other pictures, there used to be a square pastry on the floor but it was gone when we visited on Jan. 17, 2026. Maybe Lulu was tempted for too long and finally ate it! The tower has huge windows and you can see Lulu from the outside. Since she's the only indoor troll in the world, you might as well go inside and pay the fee to join her up close! She's quirky! We went to see Isak Heartstone 2 in Breckenridge, CO and Rita the Rock Planter in Victor, CO. in 2025. This troll was created by Thomas Dambo, a Danish sculpture artist. There are over one hundred Dambo trolls in the U.S.A. and many more around the world. Lulu Hyggelig is Troll numbered 154. About this museum: The entrance fee was $7. I think they raised the price because they know that Lulu Hyggelig is quite the attraction. The museum is very small even though it is spread out on 3 floors. There wasn't a whole lot to see and part of the gallery was closed off. I think 45 minutes is ample time to see everything at a leisurely pace. The mosaic animal pictures were beautiful ... my favorites were the Otter, Wildlife (Carrizo Plain), & the Red-Eared Sliders. There's a huge Vulture filled with trash ... raising the awareness of how trash impacts wildlife. FIVE Stars for Lulu Hyggelig, the Thomas Dambo Troll and 3.5 for the art displays in the museum. Maybe if there wasn't a sectioned off portion of the museum, it would have offered more to view. *If you live in the Los Angeles, CA area or are planning to visit, there will be a temporary exhibit of 12 Thomas Dambo's Trolls at the South Coast Botanic Garden in March 2026. You can find opened ones online for a fraction of that price and when you do that, there's no need to guess if you are getting the one you want (or be surprised at all by what you're paying for). If you're looking for bags to keep sealed, this is a great option for you, but for someone like me who was just looking to get one or two to complete a series, this just wasn't priced right enough for me to pull the trigger. I did, however, purchase a single mini figure that's exclusive to a Danish store chain. Was it overpriced? Yeah. But not too high that I didn't feel like treating myself. Staff is very friendly and I saw them happily helping customers all throughout the shop. Customer service is great here. I noticed they allow calm, well-behaved pets on leash or harness for private parties, which I appreciated. She found the perfect photo, printed on wood (which is an unusual process), that featured many pelicans on a sand bar. We placed it in a perfect place on hallway wall in our house, right under one of her pelican mosaics. We enjoy looking at it every time we pass it. This gallery is right next to Paula's Pancake House, which always has a long wait for a table for brunch. So, while waiting to be seated at the restaurant do take a look inside the gallery. That's how we came to find ourselves in the gallery and finding the perfect photo. We didn't think that when we entered, the perfect photo awaited us inside.
