At this visit I was looking for a delicate sterling silver ring that our daughter has been searching for. I was surprised to find it and took a picture to send to her. In doing that I also took a picture of the wall of clocks, since it was nostalgic to our last visit. My husband then told me about the No Videos/Photos signs (sorry!). Our daughter texted back saying it was the ring she wanted. A staff member happened to come up at that moment who asked if I needed any help. She opened the case, but the ring was too big. She was so kind to look through the other sizes with me, but they didn't have more. We then walked around admiring all the collectibles and the wonderful details of the wooden German clocks. We plan to come back when our daughter visits in the Spring. Hopefully they will have her size then.

I even found myself singing The Wishing Well song from Disney's Snow White before entering the store. As soon as you walk in your eyes should probably light up like mine did. There is so much to take in! They have so many souvenirs and little trinkets more than suitable for gift giving. The owner (nice gentleman - didn't get his name) covering for his wife was very hospitable, warm-hearted and kind. He allowed me to place items on the counter that I wanted to purchase as I went along. Any questions that were asked - he provided an answer. During checkout, conversation was made that made me feel like he cared about my visit in town. I purchased: butterfly souvenirs x3 (that can be hung from a rear view mirror, door handle or gear shift, etc.) AND a small pocket cross x1 (that comes w/ a card w/ msg about the item) If you're in town stop in and check out all the shop has to offer - it's sure to put a smile on your face! Oh, and I've still been singing Snow White throughout the day ha!

I walked in and I was the only customer at the time. Yes, it's pretty much a candy store with other small souvenirs and trinkets. It's a very colorful place. Almost feels magical in some way. I actually wasn't planning to buy anything, but I gave in and got a very and I mean very small amount of gummy bears and chocolates. I only spent $2.08 LOL. This is a very minimal purchase for me. I usually spend more than this for sweets, but I had to have some self control as I have had too many sweets at that time. Staff was nice. Service was quick. We also played the Hidden Gems Garden & Patio game, which made the visit even more fun we found all the gems and even got a prize! Such a nice interactive touch, especially if you're visiting with family. Admission is only $5 per person, parking is free, and the experience is totally worth it. We learned a lot and truly enjoyed our time here. Highly recommend if you love history, culture, and charming local museums. Great customer service.

You can find the cutest little knickknacks in the store great personal gifts quite frankly, I would go and just check it out. Also be careful because since there's a lot of things that can brake. just want to be on the cautious side because the store is really small. You can find plenty of parking on the street on Main Street in Solvang or you can find parking behind their establishment. Either way you have to check out this store.

Funny, I just noticed it has the words "bazaar gifts" in its biz name... I must have missed them. Oh well, next time. I probably spent no more than 5 mins in here because there were so many people. I wasn't looking for anything specific at first. I just wanted to see what they have. They do have some neat stuff. Prices are decent. Towards the end of my stroll, it dawned on me that I've been wanting to buy a silver necklace for my pendant and just haven't gotten to it. I saw some necklaces, but they didn't appeal to me. So I asked the lady behind the counter if they have 18K silver necklaces and she said no. All they have is costume jewelry. Oh well, I guess my search continues LOL. It is free of charge to check out and I highly suggest you take a few minutes out of your visit to check it out - it is worth it! I loved learning all about the books he wrote - from The Little Mermaid to The Princess and The Pea to The Ugly Duckling to even The Emperor's New Clothes. There are so many more that I grew up reading! I really loved seeing the replica of his childhood home, learning about his life and work as well as seeing all of the different versions and editions of each of his stories. While he passed away in 1875, the city of Solvang still celebrates all of his accomplishments and spirit. They even had a Little Mermaid fountain across the street that's a must see as well! Check it out!

It is a small space, but packed with very nice displays that pay homage to the author's life and work. It was nice to point out to the kids that he wrote The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, and the Snow Queen (basis for Frozen), among others. You can pretty much wander around at your leisure. The book store is also a great place to browse for books and more (totes, gifts, bookmarks, etc...).
