My friend finishing The World
Karin D.

As an avid puzzler of Dowdle puzzles, I was pleasantly surprised to see the gallery open( closed Mon & Tues). Nick, the store manager, greeted us with a smile, was very helpful & courteous. He was pleasant to talk to and so friendly with all his customers. He has known Eric Dowdle all his life. It was great to see the many different puzzles available, and so many more can be found on line. Thank you Nick!

It was my first time visiting Solvang and I came upon this gallery store where the art was beautiful but the 2 gentleman inside were even better. Nick was so funny. Friendly, and the guest were so intrigued by the way he was explaining the stories of the artwork. Kids loved him as well because his manners were just on point. It's because of Nick that the children wanted to puzzles. There was another gentlemen his name was Jim if I'm not mistaken and he was so professional and friendly as well. These 2 gentlemen are exactly what customer service should look like. You must go visit this gallery. Artwork is beautiful the colors are just so vibrant and amazing. Best gallery you can walk into in solvang. Don't forget to speak with Nick if you need anything he will not disappoint.

One of many Disney pieces

Jennifer is awesome!! My family and I wandered into the gallery as we were strolling through Solvang. We happened to notice a few of their featured pieces in the window. Having just peeked into the entrance of the store we then realized that this particular gallery was featuring some beautiful work done by Dowdle, commissioned by Disney, and awaiting purchase to go home with a lucky new owner. These works are absolutely beautiful. Some of them have so much detail in them you really need to look closely to appreciate them. In the Cindrella painting, I swear I feel like I could play a game of where's Waldo with the characters and things in there. I could say the same of the Milan image as well. There are a number of different sizes that these works come in. I want to hurry back, talk to Jennifer again and see if we can't figure out maybe a nice two or 3 pieces that would look amazing on my daughter's wall. Prices? I'm sure that they will change down the road but right now, they are so much more than reasonable! I hope that in the next year or so that Dowdle will also re-create these works for puzzles! You have to come into the gallery! These works are SOOOOOOOOO beautiful and will make you fall in love with these Diney movies all over again. Some of the Disney pieces he has done include: Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Cinderella, Aladdin and a few others. I urge anyone who comes through Solvang to stop in here. It's not a super duper fancy shmancy place but that's also a big part of its charm. THANK YOU JENNIFER for your time and for introducing us to more of the Dowdle collection. We hope to see you soon and to work with you on possibly putting a nice amount of art work in my little girl's room. I cannot wait!

You like Disney? You will love this gallery. The staff make it fun and they are Super kid friendly. Worth stopping in. The puzzles are a lot of fun and they kept the kids busy.

Art Attack Founded…read morein 1997 by local artist, Patti Jacquemain, to promote local art that features nature, and more specifically, art that celebrates California's diverse wildlife and ecosystems. Formerly known as The Wildling Museum of Art, it was rebranded in '24 to make its mission clearer to the public. The Good: * Located in the heart of Downtown Solvang, which is one of our favorite places. * It's a non-profit institution. * Private parking lot in the back, which is important because parking in Downtown Solvang can be a nightmare at times. * Friendly staff * Relatively inexpensive at $7/GA; $5 seniors and teens (13-17); and free for kids 12 and under. * Gift shop * To be honest, our main reason for visiting was to continue our quest to visit as many of Thomas Dambo's Troll sculptures, and this quaint little museum houses one of the giants right inside--Lulu! She's definitely worth the price of admission alone. :) * The rest of the art was great to look at, as well. They do sell some of the pieces that are being displayed, so keep an eye out for price tags if you happen to see one you really, really like. The Meh: * Not the biggest museum, as you can pretty much see the whole thing in less than thirty minutes. The Ugly: * If you can't score parking in the small lot, you'll have to fight for it on the street which can be a hit-or-miss scenario. There is a free lot about a quarter-mile away, if you don't mind walking. Conclusion: Come for the troll, but stay for the art.

Just know that this place is often very full of inventory and crowds so it can get tough to walk around & shop. It won't be a casual shopping experience. Especially on weekends and summers. I came here mainly because I heard it was a great place to get old Lego minifigure bags. However, I was not expecting some of the older ones to go for up to $30 a bag! That's highway robbery. You can find opened ones online for a fraction of that price and when you do that, there's no need to guess if you are getting the one you want (or be surprised at all by what you're paying for). If you're looking for bags to keep sealed, this is a great option for you, but for someone like me who was just looking to get one or two to complete a series, this just wasn't priced right enough for me to pull the trigger. I did, however, purchase a single mini figure that's exclusive to a Danish store chain. Was it overpriced? Yeah. But not too high that I didn't feel like treating myself. Staff is very friendly and I saw them happily helping customers all throughout the shop. Customer service is great here. So rest assured if you have questions about inventory or if you want to try on something, there will be someone here to help you out quickly.

It was epic to witness. I've only ever seen items like this at the Getty. This is definitely a place you have to check out and plan to purchase from. I believe the pricing is fair because these are antiques that are made from scratch-- I mean everything is hand crafted. When you see something this nice, you would never want anyone to have a duplicate of it. It's so classy and the staff were incredibly kind. I believe this place is family-run, and it shows in how thoughtfully it's maintained. It felt inclusive and welcoming. Appointments are highly recommended, and this is not a space for children. I noticed they allow calm, well-behaved pets on leash or harness for private parties, which I appreciated. I first visited at 7 AM when they were closed just to admire the exterior, then came back around 12:30 PM to take it all in with better light. I fell in love with so many pieces and will absolutely be back once I have a home closer up north. This store is timeless beauty preserved and presented at its finest.
