The food and beers were delicious. Adequate rooms, it just sucks the toilet and shower aren't in the same room (part of the 33 building they're right next to the main bedroom).

One picture is the fish and chips (perfectly crispy and has great flavor, the tartar sauce is also VERY good)

LOVE!! this place has a great atmosphere and wonderful food. The food may seem a little much but the portions are great, definitely coming back. The people are so nice and welcoming and was truly a great experience.

If you like beer and average food this place is an okay option. They had live music and the server was nice but just average food quality.

Just fantastic! But…read morewhat a loose, relaxed operation this is. I arrived to discover that they don't really have an office. They have a semi enclosed desk next to the manager's apartment. I bang on the door a couple times and a woman who I called half an hour ago answered in her extra short, little robe. It's freezing outside so the only reasonable place where I can fill out paperwork is in her apartment, So she invites me in. At this point I was looking around for cameras because it was starting to feel like the beginning of an goofy 80's movie. Attractive women do NOT answer their doors in slinky robes and invite ME inside!! I told the gal how strange I thought this was but it seemed pretty normal here. I put a name, an address and a phone number on a piece of paper, she doesn't even bother to ask for my ID. I pay $50 cash and she hands me the key. She shows me to my room, shows me the basement and the sauna and wishes me a good night. Says I'm welcome to look around and explore. I'm traveling alone but she put me in a room that could easily hold 5. Half the rooms have open doors. I wander up to the second floor and see that most of the doors are open up there too. The front door isn't locked, I could have walked in, found a room I liked, locked the door and called it a night. She would never have known. I'm convinced that carfulls of penniless ski bums do that all the time. Arrive at 11:00 or midnight. Tiptoe up to the second floor and crash for the night. Take a shower and get up and out early and the only person that might ever realize it would be the housekeeper. Crazy. The restrooms and showers are dorm style, down the hall. I couldn't get any wifi and there was no info about wifi in the room. Maybe they don't have it. Strangely, there also weren't any heater controls in the room but it stayed comfortably warm anyhow. The sauna works great. Don't think they serve food anymore. It was a fun, odd, loosey goosey place to stay for a business traveler.

The stay: main area- Quaint, cozy, cabin-like feel with a rustic albeit decorative interior. Carve some time out in the evenings to hang in the common area by the warm fire and play some games they have available. It's large enough for multiple groups to be dispersed and play separately. Room- just enough space and awesome vibe. Shower was amazing with great pressure and perfect after a long day of skiing. Dog friendly: We brought our dog with us for the trip and were so pleased with how truly dog friendly the INN was towards her. Seeing as we couldn't take our dog on the mountain to ski, Kinga offered daily dog walks around the neighborhood for a more than reasonable fee. It was the perfect amenity to offer so we could enjoy our time skiing without having to rush back and take her out. She was sleepy everyday that we came back and got so many sniffs in! We loved hearing Kinga share with excitement details of their walk everday. They are all truly dog lovers, with Portland and Banana there as two lovely inn dogs (different but amazing personalities). We were also greeted with a dog bed and treat in the room upon arrival. The dog-friendly rooms are right next to the exterior door so it's super easy to take her out for walks. There is a river in the back of the INN, as well as a small through-road so easily accessible for long walks. The food: Don't skip breakfast- it's phenomenal! Had the avocado toast most days but tried everything on the menu - French toast is delicious as well. Definitely make dinner reservations for the INN at least one night. It was such a memorable experience. Huge compliments to Jason for cooking the ribeye and duck to perfection. Drinks- Holly is a rockstar of a bartender. I asked her to make me something "simple but effective" one night-- she recognized I had been ordering vodka based drinks that evening and made a delicious vodka gimlet. It was the perfect complement to sitting by the fire and playing chess together. Nick, Jason, Kinga, Holly, and the rest of the staff make an exceptional team and have something very special at The INN. We are so appreciative of the hospitality they showed towards our dog and us. Next time we head to Jay Peak, we already know where we will be staying. Thank you all!

Shuttle to ski area was pleasant and convenient. No ice machine at hotel(ski area didn't have ice at the soda dispensers, maybe it's not a Québécois thing) nor vending machines, so be sure to hit the IGA in town for snacks. Continental Breakfast was that and more--don't confuse it with a buffet breakfast, though. Supplied bagels were sweet and dry but the bread was good. Room cleaning occurred only on the day I asked about it, though the refrigerator was emptied quickly on our departure day when we accidentally left food behind(cleaned before checkout time, ironically, though we'd officially checked out. Staff quite friendly, as was the ski area staff.

From the outside, our Chalet appeared to be beautiful and well-kept, but there were more then a few visitors waiting for us on the inside. That's right, bugs. Even in the middle of February, there were hundreds of lady bugs and massive black ants crawling along nearly every wall and window pane in this place. They got into our beds and into our food, but that wasn't even the worst aspect of our stay. A drastic rainfall left the parking area, grounds, and three flights of stairs coated in sheets of ice. I fell a number of times walking up into the Chalet, and when we asked the owner if he would salt for us, he rudely responded with, "I might do it tomorrow," as if we were inconveniencing him by asking for our personal safety. Finally, and perhaps most frustratingly, the owner has refused our $250 damage deposit. We are a group of grown professionals, and left the Chalet in immaculate condition, but when we called to inquire why our money was not being returned to us, we were told that someone would be in contact with us. We have yet to hear back. Overall, I think that the owner of Le Montagnard is an inconsiderate and rude individual who is only looking for an extra dollar. He doesn't care about his guest's safety or well-being. Stay anywhere else in Sutton, Quebec, but avoid Le Montagnard like the plague.

They…read morehad a nice variety of terrain, tons of on site lodging options and non skiing family friendly activities. Overall, the terrain was a little more advanced but had a few short trails for beginners. Several long blue runs and a few groomed black runs in addition to many more difficult mogul black runs. Lots of glades areas if that is your cup of tea. The resort was big enough that you had plenty to explore for a few days and also if you went with a group it wasn't so huge that it was impossible to meet up or find friends if you took an accidental detour. We opted for a package and it was reasonable. We chose to stay at the golf cottages which were perfect for our group, and could get around the resort with their shuttle system. There was a movie theater, bowling alley, climbing wall, mini golf as well as general store, bars and restaurants on site. If you buy a package some of the activities might be included in your price. If you want to eat off site there are a few restaurants about 15 minutes away. It was nice that they had so many things to do because this resort is in a pretty remote area and there isn't a ton around in the near vicinity.

The top half of the mountain was all just a tiny powder on top of ice . The ice gets shaved throughout the day to build up the powder that then gets slapped into something akin to moguls throughout the slopes. Talking to people on the lifts made it very clear that the focus of skiing here is on the glades and not the groomers. Unfortunately my lack of experience made it rather tough to enjoy that. It also wasn't until midday on our second day that we finally discovered some more beginner friendly glades. We ended up being able to enjoy the moons and the bushwacker path. The layout of the lodge is also strange. It feels cramped and crowded even though there werent too many people there. All the lifts feel far too slow as well. A wind cover at the least would be highly appreciated considering how long the ride up is. The misc Ramen truck is a highlight. Delicious lunch option. Truely a gift. Would recommend.

They have kayaks, oars, and PFDs for you to use during your stay. The preserve and lake are must-sees by water. Even novice kayakers would enjoy this. The downstairs shower in the second bathroom was amazing. It was so needed on sore muscles after a long day of touring, driving, and kayaking. The spa down in the hotel offers a steam room (Hammam), whirlpool spa, sauna. All were excellent. There is also massages, body wraps, facials, and mani-pedis available on site. We didn't use the outdoor pool, but it was a salt water heated one (a big plus). The exercise room needs work-it does not have a/c and the weight equipment needs some lubrication. The restaurant La Brise was very good. Our server was so attentive and made sure my mom had a nice birthday surprise. I will give a review and rating separately for that. All in all a very reasonably-priced place to stay. I'd stay here again.

We got off to a bad start…read more I have recently gone vegan...which is not easy. I am not doing it to be difficult, I am doing it because I am an animal lover and I care about our planet. Two weeks ago, I stayed at this hotel with my three best friends. Before booking, I asked if their Découverte gastronomique package (which includes three course dinner and brunch for two days) could accommodate vegans. They said yes, no problem for vegan menu. I asked twice once while booking and then again days before our trip. On the first night I was served a nice tofu noodle dinner which was actually quite good. The only thing they could make for a starter was a salad but it was a sophisticated one. The dessert was a cup of fruit...which isn't dessert. That's all I am going to say. Then, Saturday brunch was disaster. They didn't even have non-dairy milk for my coffee. All I could eat was the basket of toast they plopped on the table. I was pretty pissed and I let the manager know. The reason why I am giving them 4 stars is because the chef really pulled up his socks after this. Saturday night dinner was the best vegan meal I have ever had. For started, the chef made a vegetable tartare finely chopped stacked together with a refreshing and relishing green sauce. He prepared a mushroom risotto which was beyond amazing. I am talking about a variety of seemingly exotic buttery mushrooms, each one unique, cooked to perfection and delicately assembled in my bowl with the delicious arborio rice and herbs. They served chocolate cake for dessert which was pretty good too. Sunday brunch was crepes, fruit with maple syrup and it really it the spot. I hope the restaurant keeps providing delicious vegan meals to it's clients. The chef really has a knack for turning plants into heavenly meals that anyone would truly enjoy. As for the hotel itself. The room decor is a little outdated with it's blue accent paint but it was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit in the evening and the pool. There is also a beautiful place to go kayaking behind the hotel in a windy wetland where you can spot all kinds of birds.
