Six of us fit easily in the namesake room--two large beds and a fold out sofa. Bathroom was quite attractive with a separate air jet tub and shower, but the sink has almost no counter space. Shuttle to ski area was pleasant and convenient. No ice machine at hotel(ski area didn't have ice at the soda dispensers, maybe it's not a Québécois thing) nor vending machines, so be sure to hit the IGA in town for snacks. Continental Breakfast was that and more--don't confuse it with a buffet breakfast, though. Supplied bagels were sweet and dry but the bread was good. Room cleaning occurred only on the day I asked about it, though the refrigerator was emptied quickly on our departure day when we accidentally left food behind(cleaned before checkout time, ironically, though we'd officially checked out. We stayed here in August 2026, as part of our stay in Sutton for our daughter's wedding at local vineyard. The major issue is the service. When we checked in there was no one at the desk and we had to find our room key ourselves, which was the first sign service would be iffy. That was ok I guess... but it gets worse - much, much MUCH worse We ended up booking one of their shuttles, to take us and some of our guests to the wedding venue which was in a vineyard about 30 minutes away. This was a serive to our guests, so that no-one had to be a designated driver, and some of the guests were elderly and could not drive at night easily - or at all. And just as a supposed service to our guests on this happy occasion. But - the shuttle never showed up! After waiting and waiting and waiting, eventually our guests had to scramble, someone had to drive and carpool and identify a designated driver. And then since their cars were there, and they were out of town guests who has to drive home the next day, they had to drive home (and someone had to DD at a wedding). No happy couple wants that. The whole thing was a huge hassle, delayed the wedding and was and was a modest embarrassment in that we promised this to our guests and were unable to deliver. But hey, you say, mistakes happen right? I agree. The reasonable thing is to refund the $1500 we paid, and forgive the lapses. That's what I thought... should be simple right? But no. They will not refund this. After more than a dozen emails and many broken promises for more than a month now, they finally agreed to a less than $400 refund, leaving us more than $1100 in the hole for a service we did not at all get. For what? If they had just refunded what we paid for a service they failed to deliver, I would not be so negative. But that's not what happened. Book here at your peril. If there is any problem realize they will be a nightmare to deal with. If there is any problem and will not do the reasonable thing. Certainly any holiday wedding or large group should not book there. Please feel free to reach out to verify the details if you don't believe me, I have receipts and emails I'm am more than happy to share, I could have forgiven the poor service and the wedding disruption, if they had just done the right thing. But they did not and so I feel it is important to warn everyone: book here at your peril. If there is any problem realize they will be a nightmare to deal with. If there is any problem, they will not do the reasonable thing. Certainly any holiday or large groups should not book here. What was initially supposed to be a relaxing ski vacation turned into a nightmare while staying at Le Montagnard. From the outside, our Chalet appeared to be beautiful and well-kept, but there were more then a few visitors waiting for us on the inside. That's right, bugs. Even in the middle of February, there were hundreds of lady bugs and massive black ants crawling along nearly every wall and window pane in this place. They got into our beds and into our food, but that wasn't even the worst aspect of our stay. A drastic rainfall left the parking area, grounds, and three flights of stairs coated in sheets of ice. I fell a number of times walking up into the Chalet, and when we asked the owner if he would salt for us, he rudely responded with, "I might do it tomorrow," as if we were inconveniencing him by asking for our personal safety. Finally, and perhaps most frustratingly, the owner has refused our $250 damage deposit. We are a group of grown professionals, and left the Chalet in immaculate condition, but when we called to inquire why our money was not being returned to us, we were told that someone would be in contact with us. We have yet to hear back. Overall, I think that the owner of Le Montagnard is an inconsiderate and rude individual who is only looking for an extra dollar. He doesn't care about his guest's safety or well-being. Stay anywhere else in Sutton, Quebec, but avoid Le Montagnard like the plague. read more

Hotel with no Rules!! Great for bachelor parties or any party involving drinking and recreational drug use. If you are inviting female talent have them show up after 9pm, that is when the hotel staff leave for the night, at which point the inmates run the asylum!!!. Stayed at Le Montagnard this past weekend 2/10-2/12/17. First I will say the location to Mont Sutton is great. The service was also very kind and courteous to us at first glance. We stayed in the main building in the Le Montagnard room. The rooms are a good size with a fire place and a roomy jetted tub. Before we arrived at the hotel we were sent an email from the staff at the hotel kindly letting us know a large group will also be staying in the hotel with "access" to a "common area" below our room. The email went on to explain the hotel staff had reason to believe the large group could be loud. They went on to say that we could down grade our room so not to be bothered by the "occasional noise" from the "common area". My wife and I are in our early 30's and didn't think much of it and declined to be down graded to another room. That was our first mistake. When we arrived to the hotel we came to find that the "common area" the hotel staff spoke of was actually a recreation hall, supplied with large amplified speakers, a pool table and a bar with beer taps installed. Also this "common area" was twice the size of our room (which was a large end unit). We didn't think much of it, again we were made aware before hand. As the night went on the party below us grew increasingly larger and louder with a slew of young college students playing loud music, smoking and swearing until 4 am. we couldn't believe the hotel staff was allowing this to happen at such a late hour at night. The next morning we went to the front desk to see if there was a way to switch rooms. The woman working at the counter said she understood our frustration and would look into a substitute room for us. We gave her time to look and decided to have breakfast which was included in our package. The breakfast was very falsely advertised, it was a continental breakfast, even that description is generous. There were no eggs, as advertised. We went back to the front counter where the staff member explained there are no other rooms to be had and that we were warned of the party below us before we arrived. we explained the email was very vague and misleading, she said i am sorry and suggested maybe increasing the volume on our TV! We kindly asked if she could speak to the group below us to see if they could turn the volume down at a reasonable hour she said she would try but no promises because they were guests too. The next night the noise was even worse than before, with more people at the party. around 2 am we went to kindly ask if they could turn down the music, not off just down. The party goers told us that we were warned and that the hotel staff told them they didn't have to do anything we asked. The music continued until 4 am yet again. This hotel has no rules, there are no quiet hours or staff after 9pm to monitor anything that happens at night. i will never stay here again and I urge you to reconsider if you are looking for a quiet get away in Quebec. read more
