I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. What they do well, they do really really well; on the other hand, there were a few significant flaws that prevented us from enjoying our meal as much as I'd like. To start off, the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It's located in a lovely inn, ambience was very cozy; the art, the music, everything combined to form a really wonderful atmosphere. The owner came by to personally check in on us several times and was really friendly. I absolutely loved the pork belly I ordered, which although slightly on the smaller side, was the perfect size for me. Pork was cooked so well and the accompanying Brussels sprouts were delicious. Meat pie was hearty and comforting, and the quail was really good as well. For dessert, the pound cake wasn't anything special but the amaretto crème brûlée was yummy and it was cool how they lit it on fire and came with a marshmallow to roast. Now onto the flaws. Found a hair in our salad, which although off putting wasn't too big a deal; waitress was apologetic when we pointed it out and had it replaced. Food takes pretty long to arrive. Main issue was with the lobster/ravioli dish, which was TINY and definitely not worth the price. It was the size of an appetizer, and not a large appetizer at that. One of the waitresses was pretty impatient as well and very abrupt with her answers. Overall: the best restaurant in the St. Anne-Beaupre area (which is sadly lacking in decent food options), but with a few quality control issues that make me hesitant to fully recommend it. If you do decide to go, be prepared for a wait and don't order the lobster.

Delicious! We were staying in town and didn't want to travel into the city for dinner but wanted a nice meal. We hit the jackpot and we're not expecting to find much of anything on a Sunday evening. Beautiful restaurant in an old stone inn and we'll look into staying here on our next visit! I had the duck confit (delicious) and my partner had the beef shoulder (also very delicious). Our only regret is not getting the meat pie, which we could smell from the table next to us (they're known for traditional French Canadian meals). My favorite part of the meal was the dessert (and I love sweets). The server lit the top of the creme brûlée on fire and it was served with a homemade marshmallow to toast and enjoy on a delicious cookie! Perfect ending to a great meal! I will definitely send my foodie friends here for a detour, if they're staying in the city!

This is a classic case of a good restaurant not being able to handle the large volume of a special occasion. The four of us came for the Valentine Day menu. We chose this restaurant based on the excellent Yelp rating. I guess many did the same. The restaurant created a romantic menu that was exquisite yet could be made in batch. They had to have made a lot per the volume of table reservations. The food tasted not only pre-made but way overcooked. All of them, saved the dessert. This was because the dessert was a variety of fruits and cakes in melted dark chocolate. Yes, I must concur that the plating was beautiful, and so the pictures. Eating the food? Not as enjoyable as it looked. The services was great. I loved the live violin. I hope my experience was an one-off unfortunate incidence.

A French experience set in a very old home atmosphere is romantic and lots of charm we went on a Monday for lunch it was not busy we tried the Quebec meat pie with homemade ketchup as appetizer it was delicious and the pastry was flaky for entree we had the Salmon it was amazing and for dessert we had the chocolate cake it was perfect and not too sweet like an American cake service was excellent overall loved it

The soup is too hot I burned my tongue and I can't feel it anymore, someone then proceeded to stick their fat greasy finger in the water.

They're in St-Jean, Île d'Orléans, right across from mainland Quebec and apparently strawberry paradise. Everywhere you go on the isle there are strawberries (we were there in July) and they are fresh and natural. At La Confiturerie Tigidou, they make their own jams, jellies, and baked goods plus they let you taste just about anything you desire. Unbelievable place. We ordered scones with ice cream topped with a very light maple syrup and it was out of this world. I tasted their orange marmalade and it was unlike any I had ever tasted in several countries or continents. They also serve coffee, tea, etc. If you're ever in St-Jean, Île d'Orléans do yourself a favor and visit them. You won't regret it. They told us that they'll have a way to order their products online later in the year. I can't wait.

They specialize in fruit jams- particularly in strawberry jams. They offer an Exquisite complimentary tasting experience. You taste basically all their jam products (roughly 12-15) and the host explains the intricacies of each jam. It was a REALLY memorable experience for us- it was like a wine tasting- except with sweets. They have all different kinds of jam flavors- from Spicy to minty to the classics. I was inspired to order a delicious jam Sunday that hey had for sale! My family and I ended up leaving with around $200 usd worth of jams! Love it or dump it? Absolutely love it and highly recommended if you are in the area!

We sat on the balcony where we were able to enjoy our meal as we listened to the peaceful music they had playing in the background. This is not a super fancy high priced place. The setting is casual, and their prices were very reasonable. My fiance ordered the Tiapia with mushroom sauce, which came with a Patee dish and coffee. Personally, it was a treat for me trying out something different, but I do not think everyone would appreciate its almost raw meat and liver-like texture. The Tartare comes with fries, a salad, and crouton to round up the order. We upgraded the side of fries that came with the Tartare into their Tout Cochon poutine. I was happy with that option that way I was able to sample their house poutine without needing to dedicate a full meal order for it. I can say this was among the best poutines I have had. The gravy was rich and flavourful. The poutine was also loaded with a variety of different proteins like the Gaspor farm ham and the bacon-wrapped sausage. The perron cheese curds also perfectly topped off the whole dish. Our last order was the Quebec pork chop marinated and grilled with maple and tamari. It was served with apple chutney, sweet potato mash, and seasonal vegetables. It is exactly as you would expect with the ingredient details of the dish's name. You get a lot of different flavour profiles and textures with the meal order. Some saltiness with the pork chop then some sweetness with the apple chutney. Meaty tenderness with the pork chop, mushiness with the potato mash, and then some slightly crunchiness with the seasonal vegetables. We dined on Sunday lunchtime the day before Family Day. There were people waiting to be seated by the time we arrived, but fortunately our group of only 2 people has a table spot available so did not need to wait. We were led down flights of stairs to the lower floor which was level with the street below. The whole place with its classic walls and decor exudes with classic charm.
