    French onion soup

OMG! Best Burger in Town. Seriously, American burgers are failure compare to this. We ordered following : 1.Cheese board (Its a MUST) 2.French Onion Soup (like something with 100% Satisfaction) 3.Burger (OMG) 4.Mixed Desert Plate (Heaven on Plate) we picked this place randomly but the fact that everything from Appetizer to Desert was 10/10 was festinating. The waiter who helped us was very sweet and got very excited with our Tip habit. we sat on the street and loved the people watching feature.

If you're not looking for a Tourist trap and you love mussels and beer, you have to dine at Au Trappiste. Located in the Les Halles area and right off of the Châtelet metro station, it's pretty easy to get to. Great selection of beers, for 11 Euros you get a bucket of mussels that you pay double for in the states. I also highly recommend the escargot, it's under 7 euros! It comes in a garlic butter sauce. You can't find that price in the states! There's an outdoor seating area where you can people watch, however smokers are allowed to sit here. Smoking rules are apparently more lax in France. There's also the other option of sitting in the upstairs balcony, but the availability of that area is dependent on how crowded it gets downstairs. The other downside is there is only 1 restroom. Not sure about the parking situation, but you're in Paris! You should be walking to soak in the beautiful views!!

Best selection of Belgian beers we've found in Paris. The beer selection gets a 5-Star, the food a 3-Star and the service a 2-Star. If you are looking for great beers, try this place...just be ready to wait...and wait...

Ate at Au Trappiste with my family while in Paris. It is a Belgian-style pub-like restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. We opted for outdoors. I ordered mussels, provencale style (tomato, garlic, basil, and white wine). My sister and dad ordered the striploin steak with fries, and my mom opted for frankfurt sausage with lentilles. We also ordered a french onion soup. The food was okay. Nothing extraordinary. The Frankfurt sausages were quite savoury with a nice smoked flavour to them. The mussels came in a generous heap and though the ingredients were simple, it was savoury. The striploin steaks were overdone, and not tender at all. Without the large pile of onions (yikes! Bring a pack of gum for afterwards) that were heaped on top of the steak, it would've been bland. The side of fries that I ordered for 4,50 was enough to feed a family of 4! The most disappointing of all was the French Onion soup. Stingy on the onions, the cheese was burnt, and I did not taste even a hint of wine! The thing that peeved me the most about this place was the snooty French host who sat us at our tables. I ordered the Frankfurt sausages with a side of lentils, and when the dish came it came with fries. So I flagged him down, I had kindly reminded him we ordered it with lentils. He replied in a stone-cold manner "No you didn't, but its not a problem, I can have it easily changed." The second half of the night was better as the snooty host no longer attended to us (probably a blessing!) and we had a younger, much more friendly waiter was attentive, pleasant, and cute (not that that's imperative!) We ended up tipping him 5 euros for his excellent service. I made sure I gave it to him personally so that the snarly host didn't reap the fortunes!

Omg! The waiters were amazing! Arthur, Dmitry, and Ismael helped us with beer selection and could not be any more friendly! Mussels here better than Leon. Very quaint and tasty! Amazing beer selection. Had the cherry beer which was very good!

Stumbled upon this restaurant in Paris and I'm so glad I'm did! I was looking at the menu with my friend and a friendly waiter came out to greet us. He told us that there was a deal on the mussels so we decided to try it. We ordered the mussels and fries. The sauce in the mussels was very unique, you could definitely taste the wine which complimented the potato-y goodness of the frites. The mussels came in a very big bowl and came out to be €14, perfect to share between to people. This place also has good Belgian beer!

If you're a tourist, love beer and want to experience the whole Parisian Cafe life, this is a great option. Also centrally located about a 5 minute walk from the River Seine. Ample amount of beer options, and always served in proper corresponding glassware, a pet peeve for most beer enthusiasts. Mussels ("Moules Marinieres") and french fries special is excellent and more than enough for two to snack on while people watching and enjoying a drink. Returned to Au Trappiste twice over a weekend stay and was equally impressed on both occasions.

If you're interested in biere from Belgium this is the place. With no less than 20 on tap and numerous others including interesting brews from France, Germany, Austria and other European countries this pub is da bomb. Can vouch for food cause we came for Biere. O' La la

I dined late night at Au Trappiste after the ballet. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. I had the curry mussels with frites. The curry was outstanding! The size of the portion of mussels was huge - more than I could eat. They had a good tap list featuring mostly Belgian beers. I appreciated that I could get smaller pours of everthing on tap so that I could try several during my visit. I would definitely recommend to beer fans in Paris.

I knew I wouldn't be able to make it until my usual bedtime of midnight-ish (that's a liberal ish), but 9pm seemed reasonable. It was a chilly fall night and a pint of Guinness or two sounded like the ideal nightcap, err, sleep inducer. A quick search on my Yelp app and a brisk 10-minute walk later, I arrived at The Quiet Man. Like most bars in Paris, the Quiet Man is tiny... especially tiny, even. However, the diminutive size was far less intimidating than walking into a bar filled with loud, jovial men and only one stool to be snagged. I never took my eyes off it while waiting for my perfectly-poured Guinness and stealthily made my way over before pouncing: all mine! Over the next 2 hours, I 'met' the guys next to me several times (close proximity is a powerful instigator of friendship), pretended like I understood everyone's Fast french while nodding and smiling, was gifted a Guinness from one of my elbow-mates, and embarked on a deep and lengthy political conversation in English with a 60-ish Frenchman who had previously lived in London and Dublin (sidenote: this convo took place right before the U.S. presidential election and everyone and their far-removed cousin expressed interest in hearing my opinion). A couple of Guinness later, I was sufficiently spent. And this cool unassuming dive, like its friendly patrons, won't be soon forgotten. PS: There's nothing quiet about the Quiet Man ;)
