I don't write a lot of reviews--- but my experience was SO GOOD I can't help myself. Jody is a true expert. She asked a bunch of questions to get to know my hair type and what I like, then dove right in. Gave me an incredible fresh blunt cut (exactly what I wanted!) without cutting off too much length- then gave me gorgeous natural highlights at the exact tone I was looking for. Seriously, I have been getting the same combo for 20 years (trim and partial highlight) and this might be the best one yet. I spent a fair amount of time researching, calling and putting time into finding a place that would suit my needs. I found Reve, and made an appointment for a Friday evening with Linsday. I didn't want or need anything fancy, just a nice shampoo, cut and something to make me look and feel better. Boy, am I glad I found this place. It's located in a popular district off Mainstreet in Toledo. If you park in the back, there's tons of free parking and is a lot easier to get in and out than the street parking. Walking in, the place is HUGE. like 3 floors with an elevator huge. Beautifully decorated and swanky with all kinds of stuff going on here. Who ever owns/runs this place did an amazing job of making it feel and look wonderful. Because of the virus, I was required to fill out an online health form and have my temperature taken upon entry, and wear a face mask. I was told this upfront and was ok with it. I also got lots of text reminders of my appointment time and a confirmation reply was requested, which I did. The salon definitely communicates! I was sent to the elevator on the third floor where Lindsay was waiting for me. I sat at a table with a chair and waited to be called. The salon is huge anyway, but the upstairs was beautiful and had so much room to move around in. lots of exposed brick, wood floors, tons of fixtures throughout. Lindsay sat me down and asked what I wanted done. I told her and she said that I could really use a deep conditioning treatment. I've had them done before and my hair always feels better. The treatment was expensive, more than I usually spend, but after having it, I understand why. We went to the shampoo area and she used most of the deep conditioning treatment. She sent me home with the rest to use in 2 weeks. My hair LOVED IT. Its by Kerastase which is supposed to be a really good brand and only sold at approved salons. They are not styling hair here now, but I was extremely happy to go here and get my hair done. It was totally worth the money that I spent, and would tell anyone to go here even if its only once or twice a year. I didn't feel pressured to do anything I wasn't comfortable with and my stylist really listened to my needs. I would totally go here again and am glad I found this place. Worth every penny.

Instead of acknowledging it, she insisted it was just my eyes focusing on the contrast between colors. That response alone was frustrating, especially when the issue was clearly visible. The owner, Sarah, was brought over to fix it. She did address one side, but the other side was left uneven and still needed to be matched. Instead of completing the correction, she shifted her attention to her daughter, who also works there, and focused on doing her hair. When she returned to me, she simply said she had been working all day, was leaving, and that my cut would be complimentary. While I understand the gesture, I expressed that I didn't want a free service--I wanted my hair fixed. Unfortunately, there was no interest in making that happen. The appointment lasted five hours, and by the end of it, I was completely overwhelmed. I can have grace for a newer stylist making a mistake--what I can't overlook is the lack of accountability and professionalism. A simple acknowledgment and apology would have gone a long way. What was most disappointing was the owner's response. My husband called the next day on my behalf because I was so upset, and she never returned his call. Hair trauma is real. This experience has left me anxious and honestly afraid to trust another stylist. Very disappointing overall.

I found this place because I saw a review that said someone travelled 4 hours to go here because Alicia did such a great job. I called & they said they had a hypo-allergenic hair color for me. I made the appointment & showed up on time with my mask etc. Alicia seemed super nice and the hair color did not burn my head. I liked the color and it turned out great except the roots were lighter than rest of my hair. My hair was super long and was giving me a head ache. I asked if she was really good with long,, thick & wavy hair. She said yes and I allowed her to cut it. It sadly was very chopped in the back. I was very sad. I did go back a 2nd time for root touch up though because I needed it & MI was just opening. When I asked her to blow dry the back with a little flip, she said something like "Nope not doing that!" I just said nothing and left. But that first visit, I should've known that something was wrong when she didn't want me to see the back of my hair until she curled it . She offered to curl it for free. I'm pretty sure it's because she was trying to hide the 2- layers that were cut without any blending.
