This shop is run by a very rude and arrogant man who charges exorbitant amounts. I was quote $120 to hem a cocktail dress. I went to another tailor 5 mins away who charged me $50. He was even talking about raising the price due to Trump's 25% tariffs... not sure how the tariffs affect him? He has to use $2 more of threads? read more

I pondered on this review. After reading the previous 1-star rating in 2016 about his unprofessionalism, I have to definitely agree. I came in to get a quote on a costume I want to wear to ComicCon. Initially, the old man joked around with me because I didn't know where the fitting room was, so he asked if I was going to get undressed in front of the window. To which he pointed to the fitting room as I stated I didn't know where it was. And then he joked around asking if I've ever been to a nude beach. After putting on the costume and telling him I would like my skirt to get hemmed, my sleeves to be able to fit my arm through, and a breast gap to be fixed, he constantly said "how am I going to do this? hm?". And I'm like, "I'm not sure, maybe you can put elastic around the arm sleeve so my arm can fit through?" LOL. He quoted me $70. I told him I wanted to discuss it with my father since I've only been to a tailor once and don't know the typical prices. The old man questions how old I am. I tell him my ADULT age. He responds with "oh I thought you were 14 or 15 because the way you dress and talk." WTFFF. Weirdo. He goes on to say, "well I wouldn't take business from a client that age anyways. I don't know if you take my comment as an insult or not". Obviously for you to say a statement like that you have no thought process of what you say before you speak. As a woman and new client, I don't advice for another woman to come to this business. I felt extremely uncomfortable, disrespected, and will not be returning. I had a very full bridesmaid's dress hemmed and the utmost care was taken to make it perfect. The price was comparable with what other bridesmaids paid for the same dress to be hemmed. When I went to pick it up it was carefully steamed. Wouldn't hesitate for a minute to come back! read more

Best tailoring work I've had done on my garments. I have been 100% satisfied Enzo's work - and this comes a Millennial who is extremely particular about the slim fit/tailoring of his suits. I have literally gotten dozens of compliments on the quality of alterations my suits' alterations (from peers, co-workers and complete strangers). Unlike many other tailors I've consulted, Enzo will alter your garments to your exact specifications (beautifully, I might add). His shop fosters a very friendly environment. I was able to talk to three other customers, all of whom swore by Enzo's work, saying he was the "best of the best" (two men had work done over the years by several other tailors in NYC and Los Angeles, and said that they paled in comparison to Enzo). Enzo is friendly, easy to work with, and flexible to the needs of the consumer (he came into work two hours earlier to open his shop just for me). He is also incredibly fair, and offers incredibly reasonable prices I've seen for the level of his workmanship. I cannot think of a better tailor to work with than Enzo. I love stepping into his shop and getting things tailored. He does a great job and have never complained about anything. He understands how and the new style of suits have changed and knows how to get a suit to look good on you. I've brought Enzo more button up shirts than I can count and he's done an amazing job on all of them. There's been a few instances when I've had shirts that have been way too boxy to take in and Enzo told me upfront that these particular shirts have just way too much fabric to tailor. Lesson learned on my part: Don't bother with regular fit shirts if you're a slim person. Enzo is affable and does a great job at a fair price. I never EVER EVER write a bad review like this but I feel like this need to be heard. I am still currently outside of Attilo's tailor and am completely surprised and insulted at this nasty old man. I can't believe the reviews are so high. Maybe he is a good tailor but I stood in his shop for about 10 min and he didn't even acknowledge me until he saw a couple walking outside, then said "holy shit!" While walked passed me, out the door to check out and yell at a woman walking outside to hit on her. Then turned to me only to tell me he can't take my jackets for work to be tailored cause he is completely booked! The reviews here are either a lie or deceiving. I have been reading Yelp reviews for a long time... but I never felt compelled to write one until I got to know Enzo. He does fantastic work at reasonable prices, but more than that, he treats you like family. I recently moved away but I'll still drive the few hours down just to come here. If you're all about one-stop shopping, fine -- just get your alterations done at the local dry cleaners. But if hearing stories about the old days in Hoboken while you get a jacket masterfully tapered at the same time sounds like fun, come on down to Attilio Custom Tailors... just don't steal my parking spot! read more

Enzo is a great tailor: quick to understand what I wanted, not afraid to give me a quote, not expensive, and he knows his craft well. I had a suit that I hadn't worn for about 7 years. It had a generously cut jacket and pants, but I wanted a more tailored/athletic look for a wedding I was going to in 3 days. I came all the way here from Clifton because apparently no one in my area answered the phone, were closed, or they simply said they could not do it. I checked a bunch of yelp recommendations nearby for a tailor. I was very skeptical at first but I came across Attilio's tailor business in Fair Lawn, read the reviews which were all great except for one; called him and asked if I could come in to see if the bodysuit I ordered could be tailored down to my fit. He was very polite over the phone and said I could come in! I arrived at the place, he was working on some pants upstairs of the main desk. He saw me and I told him I had called earlier about the bodysuit. He came down and said if he could look at it. Luckily I was wearing the bodysuit and he said the sides can be tucked in, then I went back into the fitting room and took it off so he could see it again (mind you he seemed very busy but took the time to take care of me) then he suggested to cut off the snap buttons of the bottom part of the bodysuit and sow it instead. I agreed it made sense; after all I have another bodysuit that it's just a one whole piece with no buttons on the bottom. He then adjusted the measurements, sow it right there and then and said I didn't have to owe him anything! I was very surprised and felt so bad because to be honest he spent a good 40 minutes or more just helping me out! Nonetheless he finished fixing it right there and then! I'm really happy with the outcome! I am so glad I came here! Will come again if I need anything tailored from now on! He really does wonders! Fair price, funny down-to-earth Italian guy, and great service is what I got from this place. My boss, who is also Italian as they come, has been going to Mr. Enzo forever as well. Enzo calls me 'beige pants' because of a hem job on a $200+ pair of khakis was my first test for him. I've since had suits and tuxedos altered from here and they were all done very well. Sometimes he forgets though, so I highly recommend calling ahead to make sure he finished your job if you are in a rush. I think he likes me, either because I'm Korean (and he has alot of Korean customers), or the fact that he lectured me on why I shouldn't drink and drive around here. Either way, he won't give you a hard time if he doesn't get it right the first time, as he always makes sure your alterations are to you liking. Prior to finding this spot, I had another great Italian tailor (Sabino's in Clifton), but this location is better for me at the moment. There's usually parking right on Broadway, but any of the local side streets have free street parking within a block away. Also, Juicy Platter is right across the street if you dig chicken and rice. read more

So I went here because of the reviews were mostly great and figured the one bad review was an outlier. However, Melanie's review hits the nail on the head. I got there, he ignored me for a while, then finally acknowledged me and told me to wait. After all that wasted time he said it was impossible to tailor my shirts. I took them to another tailor and got a good laugh when I explained the last tailor said they were impossible to tailor. Don't waste your time going to here. read more

I brought two dresses to Enzo to be taken in, and he was very honest with me about the costs up front. He told me one of them would be very complicated to do, and he suggested it wasn't worth the money and told me to just return the dress. The other one he completed within a few days and did a great job- he listened to my exact instructions and followed through. I will definitely be going back. read more
