Tomas and Berna are great. My daughter needed alterations at the last minute for her dress for her wedding after party. They were so accommodating and lovely people. The dress came out perfectly and she couldn't be more happy. Will definitely be using this tailor from now on for all of my tailoring needs. I can't say enough about Tomas and his daughter Berna. Finding a reliable tailor these days is rare -- finding one who takes your call on a Sunday and has your suit expertly altered and ready the very next day? Practically unheard of. I needed a suit altered on short notice for a funeral, and they treated the situation with the urgency and care it deserved. Tomas brings over 60 years of experience to the table, and believe me -- it shows. The craftsmanship was flawless, the fit was perfect, and the turnaround was faster than I ever expected. They run their shop with old-world skill and modern-day customer service -- a rare combination. Whether it's an emergency or your next special event, don't think twice -- this is where you want to go. read more

Tomas The Tailor - Me in my newly altered dress. - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Upper Saddle River, New Jersey

Great people, Tomas & Berna. They're kind and knowledgeable. This was my first time coming here... I walked in, was greeted, then asked to put on the jeans that needed tailoring (well lit fitting room); Tomas made his markings, and I was out of there within 5 minutes. 2 days later, I now have jeans that fit me perfectly with NO SIGNS of alterations!! Highly recommend! read more

I highly recommend Tomas, he outperformed my expectations in custom tailoring. I have a very expensive Ermenegildo Zegna tux that needed extreme alterations on the slacks and jacket resulting from weight gain over the years. Tomas performed the alterations so perfectly that the tux was brought back to life. The tailoring is so precise that it looks brand new and fits perfectly. Tomas is truly a master tailor! read more

Tomas did alterations for a bridesmaid dress for me. When I brought the dress in, it was huge and way too long. In only 6 days, Tomas transformed the dress completely and it looks beautiful and fits perfectly. He has an immaculate eye for detail and is extremely helpful. I will definitely be back and highly recommend Tomas the Tailor! read more

High quality alteration completed in a timely manner, would recommend for alterations on gowns!

Unbelievable find in NJ! Expert tailor who knows how to properly shorten / alter suit jacket sleeves from THE SHOULDER. Most places will only shorten at the cuff, and will cut off the working buttons and ruining the "surgeon's cuff". Or they will give you a hard time to convince you to avoid doing it. Believe, me I asked 5 other "tailors" in Bergen County and they all tried the same pitch. Tomas gladly does this more technical work, and turned it around for me in just 2 days! It came out beautifully and am extremely satisfied with his tailoring. Judging by how well my jacket came out, I would only expect him to be immensely capable of any type of alterations. Highly recommend! read more

The owner is so shady. He tried to charge me 600 to simply alter a wedding dress! What a violating feeling trying to rob my pockets. What a nerve to try to take advantage of a situation and customer. No wonder he was desperate because the place is empty!! read more

I had two new suits that needed alterations and saw the great reviews of Tomas The Tailor. Tomas was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They did an amazing job on a pair of jeans I didn't think could be altered properly! I was so afraid to try. Somehow...they managed to shorten them perfectly *AND* still maintain the fringe at the bottom! Whaaaa???? And they charged the same as what my dry cleaner would've charged for a normal hem (oh, and within 48 hours). My husband and I will be bringing all of our alterations here from now on. read more

After hearing many referrals to Tomas from very satisfied friends, I decided to give Tomas a try fitting a number of new jackets and slacks. I found Tomas to helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. Within a few days he had finished all of the five items of clothing, each item fitting me perfectly. Tomas isn't inexpensive but he certainly delivers a fine completed product. It's matter of the old saying being true, "You get what you pay for." I now won't trust anyone else with my clothes. read more

About a week before my best friend's wedding, I was searching for a tailor to fix a last minute issue with my dress. I looked on Yelp, and after reading the reviews, I decided to stop by Tomas The Tailor. Berna was so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Tomas The Tailor for any alterations. They were knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you again, Berna, for all your help! Fantastic tailoring! My wife and I moved to the area a year and half ago and we found Tomas shortly after. My problem is there is not enough stars on this system to give to Tomas. I had an expensive Tux and I gained many pounds in many different places. I don't understand where Tomas found the fabric within the garment to do a fix. The Tux came out like new, I really thought I was throwing out money but when Tomas says he can fix it, he can. Can't recommend him highly enough. read more

I had spent a ton on my daughter's prom dress and knew it would need alterations because it was two sizes too big. I planned on going to manhattan to a dressmaker my parents had used until a friend recommended Tomas. She had used him for her daughter's prom dress several years before. Tomas was great! My daughter is sooooo picky and not so easily satisfied. And SHE was thrilled. Tomas's daughter works with him and always made sure she was available for my daughter when we came. When Tomas asked how far from the ground she wanted the dress she said "I don't want it to touch. I want a nickel to be able to slide under it but no more." I rolled my eyes and thought there's no way she'll be happy. Two fittings later she was THRILLED. And that's exactly what she got.... it's just a hair off the ground... so a coin can slide under it. The cost was more than I expected, but honestly it's worth it because it's perfect. As well, he made it clear that if she was unhappy; or brought it home and decided she was unhappy in a week to please bring it back and that he'd make it right. Tomas is a true master craftsmen. He's super old school and I really appreciated his patience with my daughter and his depth of intuition and skill at his craft. Thank you Tomas & Berda!!! We will definitely send you a prom pic like you asked for. read more

I found this tailor thru google and when I tell you he is the best kept secret that everyone needs to know about! He is such an expertise when it comes to his craftsmanship of tailoring which is such a lost art! His work speaks for itself! My husband and I have used his services multiple occasions on items that no one else could take care of and we asked around before finding Tomas. The coats and shearlibgs and sweaters were tailored so well grom eevery sea you could not tell that he resized it for us as if it was pur hased like that. Unbelieveable workmanship. Tomas and his daughter are the best. Once again great crafstmanship, integrity and great customer service. Thank you guys so much. read more

Best Tailor I have ever been too! Feel confident in bringing your most $$$ item to be altered. I had brought in a Balmain Blazer that was one size too big. Tomas not only took in seams across back but also suggested bringing in the padded shoulder! I was a little nervous to alter such an expensive item! I picked up after 3 days and the blazer was like brand new. Tomas altered impeccably in fact I don't believe anyone would notice that this was altered in anyway when looking at inside seams. I also had jacket dry cleaned. Amazing will def be coming back. read more
