We had a very bad experience. My daughter and I went on September 23rd for our first appointment to tailor my daughters wedding dresses. Her main dress needed to be tailored to her body, hem shortened, cleavage needed to be taken in and sleeves added. Measurements were taken, except that we were told that day by Tomas's daughter that the sleeves would need to be seen by her father on October 4th when he would be available. On October 4th my daughter went to her appointment and was told by Tomas that he could not add the sleeves to the dress. Her wedding was only a week away, they told her she could get a bolero. They charged her $650 for a horrible job. We went to a second tailor that same day looking for a bolero in a wedding dress store in Cliffside Park, the owner of the store asked my daughter why she was looking for a bolero, my daughter explained, she said bring me the dress let me see what I can do. She saved the day!! The moment she saw the dress she said, who did this, this was horribly done, she took a little contraption and undid the work that was horribly done at Tomas the Tailor in the cleavage area, they had taken in the cleavage area but had done it terribly itblooked botched. The dress was not tailored correctly apparently, plus they had left some cups inside the dress that needed to be taken out since they were very visible. She told her you cant wear this dress to one of the most important days of your life. The second tailor did a beautiful job, tailored the dress perfectly, added the sleeves, fixed the cleavage area, took out the cups all in the span of six days. She was kind and empathetic to the terrible situation my daughter was in, with a botched dress by Tomas the Tailor and his daughter, who showed no empathy to a bride who had only 6 days left to fix her wedding dress. i bought an off-the-shoulder dress from an online store in what was advertised as my size, but was very ill fitting. the bust had this extra bubble of fabric that was causing my bra to show, which was my main concern. but the dress was also snug around my arms and waist. When I brought the dress to Tomas, my primary concern was fixing the bust area because it was the most prominent issue. I brought up the arms and waist, just to see if anything could be done, but after looking inside the dress there wasn't much fabric to work with. BUT TOMAS IS MAGIC! My dress fits PERFECTLY. With two weeks to go before my wedding, I went in to see if there was any possible way I could have alterations in time for my wedding. Unbelievable find in NJ! Expert tailor who knows how to properly shorten / alter suit jacket sleeves from THE SHOULDER. Most places will only shorten at the cuff, and will cut off the working buttons and ruining the "surgeon's cuff". Or they will give you a hard time to convince you to avoid doing it. Believe, me I asked 5 other "tailors" in Bergen County and they all tried the same pitch. Tomas gladly does this more technical work, and turned it around for me in just 2 days! It came out beautifully and am extremely satisfied with his tailoring. Judging by how well my jacket came out, I would only expect him to be immensely capable of any type of alterations. Somehow...they managed to shorten them perfectly *AND* still maintain the fringe at the bottom! Whaaaa???? I had spent a ton on my daughter's prom dress and knew it would need alterations because it was two sizes too big. I planned on going to manhattan to a dressmaker my parents had used until a friend recommended Tomas. She had used him for her daughter's prom dress several years before. Tomas was great! My daughter is sooooo picky and not so easily satisfied. And SHE was thrilled. Tomas's daughter works with him and always made sure she was available for my daughter when we came. When Tomas asked how far from the ground she wanted the dress she said "I don't want it to touch. I want a nickel to be able to slide under it but no more." I rolled my eyes and thought there's no way she'll be happy. Two fittings later she was THRILLED. And that's exactly what she got.... it's just a hair off the ground... so a coin can slide under it. The cost was more than I expected, but honestly it's worth it because it's perfect. As well, he made it clear that if she was unhappy; or brought it home and decided she was unhappy in a week to please bring it back and that he'd make it right. Tomas is a true master craftsmen. He is such an expertise when it comes to his craftsmanship of tailoring which is such a lost art! His work speaks for itself! Best Tailor I have ever been too! Feel confident in bringing your most $$$ item to be altered. I had brought in a Balmain Blazer that was one size too big. Tomas not only took in seams across back but also suggested bringing in the padded shoulder! I was a little nervous to alter such an expensive item! I picked up after 3 days and the blazer was like brand new. Tomas altered impeccably in fact I don't believe anyone would notice that this was altered in anyway when looking at inside seams. I love my Shearling Leather Coat but it had been hung up in the closet since last winter because I had two MAJOR rips in it that I thought were un-repairable. I called Tomas The Tailor and explained the situation and they said bring it in and they would take a look. When I got there, Tomas took a look at the two rips and said "no problem, I can definitely fix this". When I picked the coat up a few days later, before paying, Tomas' daughter asked me to take a look first to confirm that the repairs done were meeting my approval. Can you believe when I tried to find the two rips I could not find them anymore!!! Yes, both rips were nowhere to be found!! In my humble opinion, it doesn't get any better than that!!!
